Food was very bad and they ran out of things frequently. Paddle boat had bad leak and actually sank on some campers - almost sank on my son and I. Campsites WAY too far away from parking. EXTREMELY dusty (ever heard of watering things down now and then?) and VERY steep hikes to camp sites. Pit toilets only that get very dirty and filled with ants. No private showers. Time schedule for showers inconvenient. Inattentive staff that didn't explain how things worked or where things were. No orientation for first-timers. Too few activities. Only ONE achievemnet activity for Webelos! They were actually building a new climbing wall and cutting metal with a grinder or something, which was really loud (ear protection loud), with sparks flying all over just a couple of feet from the boys who were trying to climb on an existing climbing wall. It was like a climbing wall in a contsruction site. Store is WAY too small. Campers told not to complain about food because cooks, "work hard!" Sucked!

The only scout camp I'm aware of that doesn't have tent platforms. Only 1 shower house and it's shared so it's only available at limited times during the day. Cafeteria-style food service is slow and inefficient. Compare this to camps like Wente that have family-style service, ie. pre-assigned tables with dedicated servers. Poor merit badge scheduling. Scouts ended up with way too much free time. Give adolescent pre-teens 3 hours of free time and you're only asking for trouble. We definitely prefer camps that schedule merit badge classes in "periods" similar to what you find at a middle or high school.

Pretty good camp. Had a few neat features, but nothing that really got the boys excited enough to want to come back again next year. They weren't too thrilled with the food, but I thought it was pretty good for camp food.

EXCELLENT Camp! The best I have been to! Offers wonderful programme for new scouts. Excellent, friendly, helpful staff. Extremelly primitive camping setup, brings scouts back to earth, and not making things too much like home. GREAT food!
