This is the worst summer camp that I have been to. The place is old, gross, and the camp is weird. It is not worth $2,000! $20, maybe. Avoid this place at all costs. There is absolutely NO PROVACY at this camp. I am never going back.

GUCI's infirmary staff failed to diagnose and treat my 10-year-old son's asthma crisis, and they lost his rescue inhaler. He got so sick he lost a week of camp. Camp administration refused to take any responsibility for the errors and never apologized. No one even called to see how he was feeling after he returned home. Parents need to know that GUCI is unsafe for any child with health issues. If anything goes wrong, the camp director and admin will deny responsibility. There appears to be no accountability. Also, facilities appear very run-down. Cabins are cramped, hot, poorly ventilated. Bunks have worn out springs and disgusting mattresses.

I have been going to GUCI for a number of years and I can honestly say that it has changed my life. The girls in my cabin have become my sisters and the connection we have is truly special and unique. I will be the first to admit that GUCI doesn't have the absolute nicest facilities however people don't return to GUCI year after year because of the facilities. It is the people that make GUCI a truly special and unique place. GUCI is a place where I know that I can truly be myself and where I will be supported by not only the wonderful staff, but by my friends as well. GUCI has become my home away from home and I can't imagine spending my summers anywhere else.

I worked there for a few summers. I have worked at a few camps and have never experienced a camp that wanted so much to TEACH the counselors how to be wonderful. They teach to REALLY care about every camper and not let any child fall through the cracks. Yes, it is a camp, and no matter how hard we try, not every camper will have an amazing/life changing time. But, counselors will be honest with parents and communicate and care for your children. First year counselors get extensive training and everyone is highly qualified for their positions. Wonderful place. Will treat your kids with love and respect. I also also a camper there for numerous summers...most staff members were campers. I think that really says something about the love we put into this place. Give it a chance, your child will probably LOVE it.

I hated GUCI most of the time I was there. People, including the campers and the staff, fought all the time, and the Jewish activities weren't meaningful.

I love GUCI!!! I have been going there for four years, and every year has been amazing!!! I have met some of my greatest, truest friends there, and we have so much fun. The Shabbat walk is always sooo much fun, and Yom Sport is the @#$%. Green won, and I still have the photos. Tikkum Olam is also the most amazing thing. It was fun, even though my friend had some problems with her large intestine, if you know what I mean. Go there. No joke. You will have the time of your entire life. No @#$%.

I went to camp GUCI for 7 summers. The counselors are really what make the camp amazing. They take time to get to know every camper and plan the most amazing activities. They are there to talk or help you 24 hours a day and seem to love camp just as much as we do!

GUCI changed my life. It teaches young Jews to not only love themselves, but to love being Jewish as well. Through music, sports, and great programming, a loving staff, and careful planning, it is truley my home away from home.
