Facilities are incredibly overcrowded -- when you eat a meal, you cannot back up your chair to get out without bumping into another chair. Rather than "challenge by choice," campers are forced into every activity, and get very little choice in what activities they do. Camp structure is gender-based, with activity assignments being coordinated to gender (not explicitly, but boys did rocketry several times while I only did it once. All the girls once had to learn a song while all the boys went hiking). This camp is not rustic and there are power lines everywhere and there's a big road in the middle of the camp. Many staff, however, are very dedicated. Yet, there are safety issues that are not always addressed with staff correctly. Behavior issues do not receive supper, and campers are rarely sent home. However, rather than being inclusive, this means campers with needs the camp cannot and does not meet are still kept there, unsupported.

My son and daughter love this camp. We picked this camp after a negative experience with another camp, and could not be happier. We have been very happy and know we made the best choice for our children

This camp is a perfect example about how camp should be. The girls are amazing, and they were all very nice and helpful whenever another camper was down. The councilors did all they could to help and be thoughtful about whatever the campers needed. The owners were so nice as they strolled around in golf carts. They stopped and said "Hi!" to the girls and boys around the campus. When I came to visit the camp, the girls were really nice and really convinced me that this is a great camp, and it is. Iroquois Springs is the BEST camp ever! The facilities are really nice with modern bunks with lots of cubby space (each girl gets 4 cubbies in the clothes room and four cubbies near her bed.) The girls would lend clothing to me and other girls, and were willing to help when on the last day I didn't have any shampoo. They were truly the best friends ever to me, even though I was only a first year. I highly recommend Iroquois Springs. I promise I do NOT work here, and I'm just a camper.

Do not work at this camp. This camp is horrible. In the interview process they tell you that you will get a period off each day. This is not true. A regular counselor will get a period off 3-4 days a week and if you are an activity specialist or a jet ski instructor, the only time you get off might be your one day off a week. Also they say that you will get nights off from 10pm - 12am. Again not true. You are not able to leave until all of your campers are asleep and every night at least one counselor per bunk may not leave and has to stay up until 1:00 at night on the porch. It is ****. They also say that this is not a religious camp, but it has more jews per capita than Israel, and they do Jewish prayers at selective dinners. Do not work her. there are probably only 5 attractive counslers working at any given summer, and all the guys with accents swoop those girls up fairly quickly. STAY AWAY

I have been going to this camp for six years and every year i love it, the camp always finds a way to add more to keep me wanting to come back. In the summer this is my home away from home. Its easy to makes friends and is an all around great experience no matter how old you are. The staff is friendly and professional. There are two color wars, one is called tribals, and the other, well is color war, the first is for the campers who only stay for the first three weeks. The facilities are top notch and their equipment match the level of their facilities. Every last day of either first or second second is one of the saddest days of the year knowing that you have to wait to se these new or old friends of yours for another year, all in all this camp couldn't be better

every day that i am at home, i think about camp.. how much i want to be there! the ONLY music i listen to is camp music, and the second i get home from school i talk to my camp friends, miles away, unil i go to sleep. if you are thinking of going to a camp and your not sure which one, go to iroquois springs. EVERYONE is obsessed with it no matter what they say here, and you WILL make friends for a lifetime... i already know who all my maids of honor at my wedding will be :) if you have any second doubt, just go to the color war section of our website and listen to everysong... they are all completely ligetament, WE LOVE OUR CAMP!!!

Ive been going here for a while, and each year there are more kids and its way to overcrowded. Most of the staff is ok, but some of them are really mean and in my bunk we had to get one fired. When I asked the camp owner about the amount of people he just brushed it off by saying that he had nothing he could do. Well, Mark, you could either make the dining room bigger or accept less people!!! The dining room is way to overcrowded and the food is discusting and occasionally bloody. you have the coice between chicken or chicken there. The only reason I go back is because I have friends there and if these same friends and I went to a different camp it wouldnt matter. If we all decided to go to a different camp then I wouldnt miss much from I.S. And dont even get me started on how much you need to pay to get in there. If I pay so much, they could at least get good food, a bigger dining room or ANYTHING but chicken!

MIKE IS AWESOME, i have gone to this camp for 7 years and i highly recomend it. Though many comments say IS is overpopulated it is the most socially and personally focused camp ever. Every year that there are more kids in our division just means we make new friends. The counselors are hilarious, i love mark and lora, and IS is a faimly. I do not know what i could do without this camp, so for that person who said us rich white jews are boring, we're not! we're only white and jewish, i think it is very clear that we are a jewish camp, so don't get pissed when there are jews there.

The staff doesn't know how to deal with difficult situations such as bullying. They refused to do anything about the children torturing my friend. Don't bother going here. The girls are awful.

Iroquois Springs is the 2nd camp I've gone to, and there is noooo comparison. IS is my 2nd home. The counselors are awesome and caring and the kids in my bunk are my best friends. The person who wrote about how color war ROCKS at Iroquois Springs is so right. It was my four best days ever! You have to experience it to believe it. I love everything about this camp.

I just finished my 5th summer at Iroquois Springs and it was my best summer yet. Iroquois Springs is one of the greatest places ever. After 5 summers, there is NO chance i wouldn't go back again. There is no place I would rather be in the world then at Iroquois Springs. I can't even describe in words how finominal Iroquois Springs is. I have made so many friends that I will have for the rest of my life and some many life changing incredible memories that will stay with me even until I'm gray. The staff at camp is amazing, I have never had a counselor that I disliked, but the ones that weren't very nice and disrupting were fired immediately. I honestly can't get over how much I adore this place.

Im not going to lie about why i love this camp or hate it just to make me ppl come or not, im gonna be completely honest so ppl who need to know what this camp is like will know. i personally love iroquois springs, its my second home but ive had bad experiences there. ive been home sick and theres been drama but im a girl and it just helped me mature. iroquois springs helped me become more independent then i ever thought i could be. ive made great friends and memories that i will NEVER EVER forget. go on the website and listen to the alma maters. they explain our camp exactly. maybe our camp is a little over populated but maybe thats just cause its just so great. i loved my counselors, my bunk is big enoughh, activities are fun but not my favorite part, everyone responds to my needs when i need anything. I LOVE IROQUOIS SPRINGS! its a great campp. i would send my kid here if i had one.

my favorite day of the year is the first day of camp. This will be my third summer at Iroquois Springs. I have loved the camp since the orientation my first summer. The people and counselors that had been there past years before I came were so warm, caring, and nice. A lot of the counselors are from international places so you get a feel of different cultures around the world. This camp is not only a fun camp, but could also be a learning expierience for many people. I have met the most amazing people at this camp, not just kids, but the counselors and directors as well. When I come home from camp, I'm always so depressed and I count down until I see all my friends once again. I cannot wait for the summer to begin once again in two days. Parents, you will be stupid not to send your children here.

i love this campp!! i have gone to it for four yearss now. i love it. you dont just make friends there..you makee sisters. before i went to camp my first year,i was very shy and then each year as i come back, i see that i have changed. after going for four years i am now outgoing and am definetely not shy!! i love going back there every year it truly is a second home.everyonee is nice and i always love my counselerss. if you are looking for a camp to go to, this is definetely the place. inters 07 was amazingg!!

i went here my first year and thought it was okay. I met one girl and she said she was coming back so i came back with her. but then the second day i was there i began to hate it more and more each day. the counselors are not warm and comforting. one time i was crying in bed late at night becuase of dehydration and the counselors said we could wake them up and go to the nurse if we needed to. So i did and she told me to go back to bed! She refused to do what she promised. i lay in bed crying the rest of the night and one other camper told me to shut up. the counselor told that girl to shut up. i was left sitting there with a beating head the rest of the night and soon enough i got a fever. I hope that stupid counselor got sick from me too.

The comments of others regarding the number of children being to high a ratio for the availability of the facilities are absolutely correct. Furthermore, the built more bunk on the land so they could increase enrollment. Two problems with this: the land is not that big to begin with and in a rush to employ more counselors they clearly didn't screen well and just took what they could get. While looking for a new camp for my child I found this website "campratingz" and thought, how could I really take any of these comments seriously, as I don't know where they are coming from and how accurate they are. But when I found the comments on Iroquois Springs, and saw that there was definitely some truth here. I realized that I could actually get a good idea (especially regarding negative issues) if I see patterns in the comments.

I LOVE IROQUOIS SPRINGS SOOOOO MUCH! the last two night of camp and when the session changes i am soooooooooo sad and i don't want to leave and i don't want my friends to leave. my counselors have become my sisters and same with my bunk mates. i wish the camp was longer. i cannot wait until the reunion! OMG IS is the freakin bomb, i cant imagine a summer w/o camp, it wouold be so weird, i have spent my last 5 summers there and am returning next summer as a CIT, I definately recommend this camp, the facilities are mzing, the staff are really nice, and the kids are great, there is never a dull moment at IS, there is always something going on. IS, ROCK ON!!

My kids had an amazing summer at Iroquois Springs. They have been going for 4 years and can't wait to return each summer. The counselors are great, the activities are fun, and they are very well taken care of there. The kids are really nice and they have made friendships that will last a lifetime!

A great camp for kids! My children will be going there for their third summer next year and they can't get enough! We had a bad expirence at another camp because of terrible staff and Iroquois Springs is actually quite the opposite. Staff is friendly attetive and always there like older brother or sister. If you are looking for overnight camp look at Iroquois Springs

My daughter complained that sometimes due to the number of campers, some of the activities are limited. Also, she mentioned that there are two staggered meal servicing since the facilities cannot support all of the campers at once. The new additional pool is great, but I’m not spending $$$ to keep her in a pool the entire day........

My child was unsure about sleepaway IS offers a 3 week or 6 week program. My daughter was a 3 weeker last yr and was so happy this yr she is a 6 weeker. As the camp has grown so has the facilities. They just added an additional pool. The camp is always willing to accomodate u. Anytime u call someone contacts u in seconds. The staff is great. The camp is great. The friedships my child has made is amazing. This camp has helped my child grow as an individual. I would highly recommend this camp.

As a parent, it is always difficult to send your kids away. IS has gone above and beyond in their responsiveness to our needs. And it doesn't hurt that the facilities and grounds are beautifully maintained.

This is going to be my fourth summer and I love it there. The rules are really strict though (no bikinis, no candy, no recieveing packages at all) most of which I find really un nessacry. I have really only had 3 great counslers out of 9, which isnt impressive. I love the people so much, even though everyone is a jap... how can i complain... im one too, so I understand why people who dont like japs dont like IS. One problen is just that it costs ALOT, and it doesnt really ofer any really special activites. Lastly, I LOVE COLOR WAR IT IS MY LIFE!
