i LOVE camp bernadette. Whoever says the girls are snobby and mean must be doing something wrong if they have not one friend. My first day I made 4 friends and by the fourth night we were all staying up late and talking about our chaotic lives. Because of camp bernadette i have made multiple best friends that i hang out with every week. The food is iffy but its not killing anyone!Overall its affordable, the people are awesome, the food is edible, the lake is gorgeous, the themes are entertaining and its the absolute best

A very caring camp where children are allowed to be independent in a controlled, safe environment, which is one of the reasons why we sent our daughter up there. The facilities are fine, remember, this is summer camp not the Ritz Carlton. The chef is a very caring woman who stays very vigilant to ensure that children with dietary restrictions are kept safe. A great place to send your daughter.

Whatever the bad ratings say is far from the truth. As a camper at Bernadette, I can tell you it truly is the best place on earth. There are obvious flaws, but nothing is perfect. The spirit at Bernie is something you must truly witness to understand. Without Camp Bernadette, I never would have made my best friend. This camp is where I choose to spend my whole summer, and I could not imagine it any other way. Everything is perfect about the camp, as are the memories made and good times had. When me and my friends return home after 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks, we are not a bit homesick, but we are camp sick. Camp Bernadette is an amazing place that I would suggest to anyone and everyone. The summers at Bernie will be remembered forever.

Camp Bernadette is an amazing camp where you can meet new friends. Theres a spirit here that makes everyone a friend. Sure the lake is cold and the bathrooms are dirty but its a summer camp, not a retreat. I live in N, and have made friends in Tennese, Canada and many more unique places. Camp Bernie is my home and my summers would never be the same without this camp. I'm returning for the full 8 weeks this year and could not be more excited. I encourage you to come to this amazing place. Words can not describe how amazing this camp is. Guarantee you'll bawl at the end of your stay or at the banquet mass, I sure do!

I cannot speak any higher of Camp Bernadette and its wonderful staff, magical location, empowering experiences and overall essence. My daughters have had the most amazing summer of their lives, and it is going to be a looooong winter waiting for next year. I've seen some negative reviews recently but having had daughters attend Bernie before and after the leadership transition, I can say with full confidence that the unique and inspiring Bernie spirit is alive and well and that the new team has made this summer the best one yet. Thanks everyone!

My daughters have been going to this camp since 2008. Prior to this year, we had never had a problem and my daughters loved Bernie. This year was a different story. My older daughter sprained her ankle 2 1/2 weeks into camp and was told by her CIT director since the bone was not sticking out, she did not need to see a doctor. This happened 7/16/15. I never got a call from the camp, but luckily my daughter had her cell and called and texted me to tell me what happened. I called the camp director the next day, who did not feel she was seriously injured or needed to be evaluated by a medical professional (other than the camp RN). On 7/18, I drove there and picked her up and she was seen by an orthopaedist. She was put in a boot and told to use crutches(camp did not allow her to use them up until this point). The camp director denied any wrongdoing when I confronted her face to face. I am filing a complaint with the Diocese and the ACA. Please look elsewhere for a camp for your daughter.

My daughter hated it this season but love it last year. She requested to bunk with her friends and we even called months prior to confirm. My daughter was in tears the first day and no one did much to resolve this for my daughter. Apparently there is a new director and she definitely should not be running an entire camp. The staff seemed untrained and the check in process was unorganized and chaotic. Clearly this new director has no management skills. No one seemed to know what was going on when we called to check on our daughter. I'm very disappointed and we will not be back next year. A true lack of leadership.

I enrolled my daughter at Camp Bernadette more than 10 years ago. I was delighted with the experiences my daughter had at the camp. She has made lifetime friends from camp. By the time she got home from Camp Bernie, she knew exactly how many days till camp began the following summer. Bernie has provided a strong foundation from which its campers mature into confident women. Varied activities teach the girls how to deal with real life - not all activities will be their favorites. While consistently making new friends each year teaches the campers a social skill that will keep them connected with real world situations. (My daughter knew none of the other campers prior to arrival.) Camp Bernie has been a fantastic experience for my daughter and will prove to be the same for your child as well!

I love Camp Bernadette it’s my girls fourth year, and the memories and friends they made at camp will certainly last a lifetime. The location is beautiful, clean, and the atmosphere is very positive. The staff was also very friendly, well-trained, and seemed to really care about the kids.
My girls love the variety of activities (ranging from kayaking, sports, and a ropes course) insures that you're never bored.
We look forward to many more summers at Camp Bernadette. Thank you Camp Bernadette Staff!

My daughter has attended Bernie for three years and she LOVES it. At the beginning of her camp experience, my daughter became homesick. Her counselors were wonderful at addressing the situation right away. They showed her a great deal of "mothering" and made sure that she was engaged in her activities and making new friends. By the end of her session, she was totally over her homesickness and actually wanted to stay longer. In letters home, my daughter reported that every day she was in charge of cleaning her area of the cabin, as well as another small task, such as sweeping or emptying the trash. She said her cabin was always neat and tidy. She told me that the counselors cleaned the bathrooms every single day. As a nervous, 'first-time camp mom' I had many questions and worries. I called the office several times and was always greeted by lovely office staff. They managed to answer all my questions and really put my mind at ease. They were very knowledgeable and very kind!

I am having trouble finding words to convey my frustration and disgust with this establishment. After being signed in, my daughter and I went over to her assigned cabin, this being cabin 11. There was little to no room to even unpack her things. There is a rule at the camp that, following swimming, one must get hosed down in hopes of preventing duck rash. Immediately I questioned the existence of this "infection" and my doubts were confirmed after research saying that duck rash was NOT caused by water. On multiple occasions, my daughter was victimized by the sour attitudes of the counselors. During arts and crafts, my daughter laughed and was shouted at by the counselor. Shortly after, my daughter was yelled at for putting her paddle in the air during boating, since a raised paddle means an emergency, yet the paddle only remained elevated for a few seconds. The personalities of the campers ranged from down right creepy and invasive to bratty and mean. Please do not send your child here

Camp Bernadette is WONDERFUL. This summer will be my fourth, I'm leaving in 8 days and I couldn't be more excited. Bernie is a traditional sleepaway camp, with bonfires sports and swimming. There's boating, ropes, tubing, and night activities which are so fun. I mean it is a camp, but the food isn't too bad nor are the showers or anything. Everyone makes tons of friends and has an incredible time. Even if you come as an older camper you will be just fine. YOU'RE MISSING OUT IF YOU DON'T GO TO BERNIE<3

The staff was great but the girls in my cabin all knew eachother from home. The activities were fun but you have to do every activity with your cabin so if you dont like your cabin that is an issue. I am not telling people not to go here because if you do go here I know you will have a great time! One other problem I had with the camp was the cabins. The cabins were cramped and very dirty. Also, the bathrooms were outside so if you had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night you had to wake up one of your friends and go to the bathroom in the pitch black. Overall I have to say I did have a good time at this camp, but I have found another camp that I love somewhere else.

Camp bernadette is my favorite place in the whole entire world. its the best camp anyone could send their kids to, i couldnt imagine a summer without camp bernie! this will be my 6th year going and im sad to say that its my last, bc i will be in suite 15! but i will defiantly return as a cit ! camp bernadette is a wonderful place, and when you leave youll cry bc of all the life long friends you make and how fun camp is. I left my heart at camp bernie and i cant wait to go back! only 84 more days ! <333

This camp is AWESOME! It's an experience that i will NEVER FORGET! its was soooooo fun! my favorite activity was tubing! and theres so many activtes! you should send your kids to this camp because if you dont....YOU'LL REGRET IT! i went sessions 1 and 2. and i made some best friends there! maggie,rachel,caroline, and alot more! the only thing they have to work on is the bathrooms because they are kinda dirty. the counselors were relly fun. the activities were awesome. and im definely gonna go in 2009 sessions 1 and 2

Im 14 and this is going to be my 8th year going. Ive had many counslers and ive been through every division.I go for 6 weeks i would go for 8 but my sister goes to college and i like to say good bye to her. She was a counsler and had a great time. This is the best camp for girl. You make great friends and this really helps the way you feel about your self. When i leave i cry for 3 days,i stay in contact with my friends and counslers even the director. Ive watched my cits become counslers then directors and then get married its an AMAZING experience ...I LOVE IT <3

i loved it here..it was my 4th summer here..and i sobbed my eyes out when it was over..Seriously if u don't send ur child there ur crazy..its soo much fun even if u don't have a great cabin..its still fricking awesome!!I would never change anything about it!! I love there Kalamazoos Lol paige and maggie!! just go to this camp it rocks expecially sessions 3 and 4!!

OMG i loved Camp soo much i cried when the gc bus left and when i left next year im defenetly staying 4 2 sessions! im still really sad and i got back from camp 2 days ago! i wish i was there right now!!! Gabby was the beast counsolor ever and also kiah (i was in cabin 11 2008 session 2) i didnt like shannon though, she was too up tight. CAMP CAMP CAMP!!!! ok that was kind of stupid but i love camp Bernadette!!!

I really enjoy camp bernie. The staff are always super nice, the food is always good and there isn't a moment when you feel bored. They're very good with safety and personal attention. Sometimes the bathrooms are a little gross, but that's more of the campers fault. =] wrap it up in the bag, in the box. 2nd Session 2008 was the best!

Ok this camp is sooo much fun! I am going session 4 this year, summer 08! And I like counting down the days. Well some things I would sai that aren't the best about the camp is that some counselours are the nicest people you could meet, but some of them are awesome! Like I had a really mean counselour and 1 really nice one in my cabin and I basically just hung out with the nice one. Also, the facilities could do better, the bathrooms especially and maybe they could redo the cabins if they got the money. But otherwise I HAD THE BEST TIME EVER! It is true though that girls can be snotty. I had this one girl in my cabin who would yell at you if you like touched something of hers by accident. (ridiculous) and I really wanted to go tubing but they didn't let our cabin go tubing because it was raining when it was our time! I was soo pissed but whatever. This is going to be my 3rd year and I am really excited. Its also good if you like your child to go to church!

this camp is so much fun you get to try a ton of new thin gs, meet a million new friends, and have fun every day. you learn how to deal with other girls and fights. the food is much more than edible, better tasting than the food at my house almost, and the bathrooms remain clean. we actually learn from cleaning them ourselves (they are cleaned daily along with the cabins) this camp is the best place to go to or send your child

Omg i cant wait for session 3 2008 its gonna be mad fun. this is gonna be my 3rd year going to session 3 in a row. and i love it. its a great camp, i however was stalked by a girl in my cabin. lets not get into that. she called my house and i didnt give her my number and asked what session i was going to because i was just ''so much freaking fun''. yeah and i was like umm ok im going to session 2. and i knew i was going to 3 because 6 of my friends were going to 3 with me. i also ran into her like 5 times and we live like 30 minutes away. its weird and scary. but whatever session 3 2006 cabin 14. session 3 2007 cabin 10.

OMG i lOVE BERNIE! only my second year this yeat and i went a month. i can't imagine my life w/o camp bernadette. im becoming a counsler and gonna be there every summer for as many years possible. The activities are so much fun! I love the free time and i have made so many new friends from other states. Camp Bernadette is definatly worth it!

CAMP BERNIE IS AWESOMe! It was my first year there but I fell in love with it. The counselors are so nice and really listen when you need to talk, I met so many friens from boston,ny, even quebec and belguim, I was so happy there and nearly asked my mom to let me stay longer, now that I am home I miss being there. I am definetley going back next year. If you give Camp Bernie bad reviews, YOUR NUTS!!!! Ive been going to this camp for 5 years. I absolutly love this camp. When you go you might go with a few friends or none at all but you come back with so many more life time friends its amazing. I have the time of my life everytime I go. Camp to me as many others who go there will always be apart of our summers forever.

Camp Bernadette is amazing. I've been going there for 8 years and i've loved every minute of it. I don't know why others are insulting the staff because I think the counselors are wonderful. They are young but that makes them easier to relate to. There are some girls who find they have a bad time at camp but that usually stems from poor social skills. If you are easy to get along with, then you will make a cabin full of friends. It's impossible not to have fun there and I feel bad for any one who doesn't get the chance to go.

As soon as i get home from camp i already begin the countdown until next summer. The activities are sooo much fun and i love all the counslers. This year is my last year and im gonna be in suite 15!! second generation Bernie girl! my mother went and loved it and i went for 7 years and loved it too. i still have friendships from it and i can honestly say i grew up there. and for all those people that rated it low it is because like any camp it is what you make of it and if the girl doesn't like bernie she wont like any camp! so yeah bernie is awesome!

Bernie has been my home away from home for three years and I'm completely in love with it- there's so much to do and such great girls. Sure, once in a while there's one or two mean girls, but isn't there one in every situation? Bernie is a great place to send your daughter- she'll learn a lot and make great friends who she'll keep in touch with for the rest of her life.

Populations can change from year to year, but I found most of the Bernie Girls to be snobby and experts at the worst kind of girl-on-girl meanness. Counselors are generally young and don't stop or even contribute to the petty behavior.

This camp is a wonderful place to send your child. The staff is excellent and caring and the facilities are great. It focuses on teaching girls how to be themselves and grow and prosper in a wonderful outdoor setting.
