i went to camp nanro 9 years ago. i live in fl and my mother would leave me there for the 8 weeks they were open. besides running laps in the morning and having to wake up at 630 every one there became a family, anyone going there should try to find a box in bunk 2 that was buried behind it. in there youll find pics and the tapes from when i went there.

I've just learned that this camp is reopening after a brief sabbatical and am delighted to share my daughter's experiences with everyone. She began camp in 96'until 03', I believe. When she first arrived she didn't know where her underwear came from, much less a spoon from a drawer. She came back 2 months later, sweeping my carpet, making her own breakfasts, and believe it or not doing HER OWN LAUNDRY! It was never an issue of when, but of how too. She lived on a cloud and returned grounded. Everything became second nature. Since then she's finished college and bought a house in the suburbs. I'm sure she would have grown up on her own, but this camp turns a whiny teenager into a responsible, self-sufficient, aware person. From all the parents that never made it to this website: Thank you for saving us from years of teenage hell!! Not to mention she absolutely loved it there.

this camp was great i went here for 7 years and it was the best camp ever the discos were great garys food was really good and the sat night shows and bbq. rafting was fun and so was dorny park. the roller skating with camp olympic will not be forgotten we kickd there but every time the morning exercises werent the best but we dealed with it. mr director was a clown.(fstavai fstavai staneeshkee adeevai). Camp Nan-Ro has by far been the biggest and most important asset in my life. I am who I am today because of that camp. It helped me grow up and become a man. This type of setting I feel is necassary for all kids to experience. As a camper, I felt that the staff was extremely helpful with everything. They taught us and helped us and the personal attention couldn't be greater. As a counslor, I can say that I had fun helping people out and creating plays for my kids. The activities in this camp are varied ranging from basic stuff like going to the movies and the mall as well as the lake, rollerblading ring, horseback riding, rafting, Dorney Park and many others. The facilities are extremely comfortable and the bunks feel retro but make the experience that much better. The most important part of this camp is the people around you. I have met people who will be my friends for life and I also met my 1st love in camp. I am too old to work anymore but I still visit, its my second home (Ilya)

I've been going to that camp for seven years. My first attempt was when it was still camp/resort and than I came back again when I was when I was five years old. Now I’m 13 and although I missed the last two years, the summers I spent in Camp Nan-Ro were truly the best. I made great friends, had great experiences and truly hated leaving. The camp counselors were the best. If I ever needed them, I knew they would be there to help me. I even met a great guy. The discos, the trips, and the experiences are all worth it. Parents, you should totally send your kids there because they will be truly grateful.

tHIS IS THE BEST CAMP..THE COUNSLERI HAD WAS OLGA..SHE IS AWESOME. DAN IS FUNY. WELL WHEN U COME TO THAT CAMP UR ALL BIG HAPPY FAMILY. 0OO MAN, i don't think the words exist to really describe how truly amazing this camp is. i remember 5 years back i thought going away to camp for the summer would be a huge waste of time and some type of punishment. but when i got there i learned sooo many things and made soo many memories, that every single year i come back for more. the past summer i became counselor, and i would absolutely love to come back for many more years. at the end of the summer, comes time to say goodbye to a place that became my second home. but throughout the year i look forward to the month of june to come back and build memories with the people that became one of my bestest friends today. there is nowhere i would rather spend my summer vacation than Camp NAN-RO. ill see you this upcoming summer ;) yours truly, olgA.

well since i was a counceler i really got all the attention because i didnt really want any. You know i found my girlfriend there and or ok she found me and well we are still togethere after two summers. I love nan-ro and out of about the six othere camps i went to this one rocks the most. so many memories and such good times. I want to go back and work again not only becasue i love the camp but because i love masha and gary, they are the greatest people ever. they work hard and they make us councelers work hard, but in the end its the saying goodbye that is hard. i love camp and nan-ro is the best camp i've ever been to. counceler: Daniil

Amazing Camp, I sent my child there for 5 years before we moved south. Wish I could find a similiar set up down in FL. The personal attention my chld recieved created instant comfort being away from home at the age of 7, and over the years it taught him more responsibility and social skills/confidence then he would ever learn in NY. Thanks to all the counselors....that helped turn my little boy into a man.

What can I say about this camp? Well the only thing that comes to mind is that i would rather be there right now. If you send your child to this camp he or she will have the best time of their lives. I have gone to this camp for 3 years I whish I had gone more. Everything about this place is amazing. Your child will have alot of fun but at the same time he will learn about responsebilety. So please send your kids to this camp you wont find any better oh and when you do come you will see me there because I still go back. Still and forever Hungala!

Camp Nan-ro is awsome. My best friend introduced me to this camp 5 years ago and I'm glad she did. I had alot of fun there and met alot of great people.I hope that camp will be as awsome as it was these past 5 years. (Danielle)

Where would i be with out camp Nan-Ro....lets see i would be the same shy, chunky, lonley, never stick up for herself grl i was before i went there....because of camp i became who i am today...when i would leave camp in my first years it would be hard i had to go back to longisland where i wasnt very liked or treated nicely....back to the name calling and disrespecting...well thanks to camp i got attitude...i lost weight eager to change...and i made more friends then i ever thought i would have...now why is camp Nan-Ro so great because Camp Nan-Ro isnt just a camp its like a home to most and new experience to some<3333333

THis was my 6th year at camp nan ro i have alot of fun at camp I keep coming bak every year i cant stay away This the best camp to go to. We have a proffesional cook gary he has the best food i will come bak next year. (LEON)

Just got back two days ago. It was my second year. Had a great time yet again. I loved the staff and the people and food and trips to the fullest extent. Defiently send your children there, but its probably a good idea to know at least a little russian =)

NAN-RO is amazing,in my first year in America i got into this camp, Nan-Ro helped me alot,with learning new style of life, new people, new language and most of all Nan-ro gave me more confidence and made me less of a shy person. The food, the weather,the landscape and many more things to list that Camp Nan-Ro has to offer that is just great for your kids,so be sure that your child is safe and taken care of. It's like a second home for kids as well as for the people who works there.We love NAN-RO and the MEMBERS of it <3 Nadya =o]

this is like the best camp... i've only been there for 2 yrs... and so upset i cudnt go this yr... i love that camp.. i tell all my friends about it... there are so many memories from that camp.. and u meet a lot of people who all ironically happen to live somewhere near u.. its great.. the food i must give the beggest props to gary.. the food is to die for... and the counslers are great... i hated but i loved the laps .. they keep u fit but r extremly hard to do at 8 in the morning.. this camp is AMAZING!!! and i love all the friends i made there... some of which i still talk to after camp is over and probably will talk to for like EVER!!! i love camp nan- ro... u guys are all the best... its a true experience... <3 shira <3

Actually the MYSPACE website was created by a former camper, because of how much Camp NANRO actually means to them....show me another camp that has inspried such dedication, and loyalty. Camp NANRO provides your camper with diverse activities...not ONLY the usual sports, or art. It also gives teaches your child social skills, responsibilty, and independence. Its a three weeks life lesson. Many of the campers return until the age limit prevents them. Its a home away from home....

Nan-ro is so fun! you will remember it for the rest of your life. The cooking is amazing (props to gary). You do meet a lot of interesting people. The only negative thing might be the daily laps we have to run and hearing mashas angry voice once in a while during line up. I LOVE NANRO =]

Everyone here is great. Masha, the counslers and everyone makes you feel right at home. This camp is a great place to spend yuor summers. At nan-ro you make life long friends. You have the time of your life during the weekend talent shows, the daily trips to places such as bowling, pool, water parks, rafting, malls, movies, and of course the weekly camping which everyone adores. All the counslers are extremely responsible and always keep an eye on the campers. Everyone is very considerate of everyone else and we all have good, clean fun. This is the number one camp in the world (i'm positive).
