Betsey Cox has been a wonderful camp for my girls 14 and 16. This is their 4th year and my 16 year-old will be going on a trip out of the country during her second session. She definitely found herself at Betsey Cox. She has friends all over the country and a few out of the country. She knows who she is. I attribute much of her having a strong sense of her self to her experiences at Betsey cox. My 14 year old is more of a home body and struggles the first few days at camp. They take excellent care of her so that when I visit, two weeks later, she is over her feelings of being homesick and is emerging as her amazing, creative, smiling self. We all love Betsey Cox.

My daughter went to this camp, and my son to Sangamon. They're not prudes, but they didn't like all the sexual activity going on. Parents should know that the nurse hands out condoms to campers if they want them. They both liked the riding, and the freedom. I think it's good for kids that are kept on a tight leash, but only you (the parent) can decide if you want them exposed to this atmosphere. I didn't understand about all the private cabins in the woods. It seems almost like a playground for the owner's friends?

My daughters have attended this camp for several years. It is fantastic. The staff are wonderful. Lori and Devri are devoted and amazing women who are committed to mentoring young women and girls and giving them a summer that is memorable. The food is beyond compare, healthy and lovingly prepared- not your typical camp fare. The friendships that are formed will last a lifetime.Betsey Cox isn't a fancy camp, but it is a great place to send your daughter. Mine say it is the best part of the year!

Out of all of the overnight camps I have been to, this one was definitely the best. The amount of choice and freedom you get is great, sine the program is fully elective. The food was amazing and high quality. My cabin, Mansfield, is the best cabin in the whole camp since it was big. There were also interesting evening programs. My only complain was the counselors. They were really good friends, which was good, but I felt like that took away from how much attention us camper got. The first year Muggies were amazing! I miss you guys! All and all, this camp was great, and it is totally worth your money! I will probably be back next year. Check out the website: campbetseycox.com

BC is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I formed a real connection with many staff members and each camper is treated equally and very nicely. Th pond is beautiful, and the archery field, tennis courts, farm, woodshop, art cabin, lodge, and everything else is wonderful. Cabins=cozy, homey Bathrooms&Showers=clean, good condition. There are so many things to do:woodshop, acting, farm, garden, horse riding, art, swimming, tennis, pottery, rock climbing, sailing, boating. All the activities are super fun and there r more activities that u can only do at camp (buttered watermelon race). My best frends r at camp. This camp is worth every cent and probably even more. I love camp and i think that it has helped me become a better person. Everyone loves it and crys wen its time to go. Dont listen to all the negative comments bcuz this camp is truly amazing! <333333

I never thought a camp would be this amazing... Betsey Cox changed my life. It opened my eyes to the outdoors, and the activities tought me SO much. If you are a 1st time camper looking for a place to go, than Betsey Cox is for you. Everybody is so amazing, all the staff know your name, and you get to be independent and make choices for yourself. I was nervous the first time I went, but now that I am home again I miss my camp family! I can NOT wait to go back!

I can't wait to get back there for my third summer! There is such a great variety of activities, it's full of hilarity and so much energy, singing, and fun! Creativity is HUGE: pottery, weavery, crafts, painting, Sunday seminars run by kids. The drama program is a blast, and you learn to live without lots of STUFF and how to get along with nature. The farm is a great experience for a city kid--you get to do everything: milk the cow, animal chores, visit, garden.... And I never would have ridden a horse if I hadn't come here! In all the activities you have a chance to pass levels and get recognized. Camp craft: you learn serious stuff, like survival skills. Also: Red Cross swimming program, tennis, archery. I adore tetherball, camp-wide theme days (e.g. Harry Potter Day, Robin Hood Day) and evening activities (e.g. Family Feud, Giant Board Games, Egg Dropper Contest). FOOD: YUMMY!!! There is time to be quiet, too, a library, and shared guitars. I could go on and on... Definitely go!

I would like to rebuff many accusations put forth in previous ratings of this camp,I have gone for over 6 years.Yes this is not the camp for very high maintenance girls, but facilities are not as rudimentary as earlier described & this helps girls not become obsessed about appearance. No electricity in the cabins, but there are hand made stone fireplaces in all but two.The sink & shower areas may not be as spiffy as home, but they have electricity, are cleaned each day,& all the showers work.Girls don't swim at 6:30, breakfast isn't til 7:30.There are spiders & insects, but its a camp w/log cabins surrounded by nature. The only section of camp "taken over" by staff cabins is a hill in the woods behind the lodge, set off from the rest. Girls don't farm all summer everyday girls choose what they do each period. About the guy-girl relationships, trust me this camp is much better than most, for the most part there is BC and Sangamon separately.BC has been one of the best experiences of my life

This was my third year going to Camp Betsey Cox, and I have to say that every year is better than the last! This year, I had a totally tiny but awesome cabin, cool froends and staff, and the overall experience was really good! This is the camp for girls who want to be enviormental or seek a leadership position, because there is no electricty in the cabins. That's so we can pay more attention to nature without being sucked into electronics. We do NOT get up at 6 am to swim. I don't remember us having llamas, but llamas are cool! This is also a place where everyine gets to know eachother very very well. Also, the food here is amazing with vegetarian options and a salad bar. We have alot of oppertunities ti go out in Vermoint and climb mountains or go to shows or other things like that. If you are "high matience" then you shouldn't come here. WE get down and dirty (literally)and swimming in the pond is fun!!!. NO HAIR DRYERS ALLOWED. Camp Betsey Cox is the best camp ever! -Rachel

It was my first year at sleep away camp, and I had a great time! The food was great, the cabins were cute, and it was beautiful in the Vermont mountains! The outings were really fun and educational to. The activities are great, and the staff are totally patient with you if you don't get something right the first time :). The lower level wash house could be in better condition- the toilets get clogged a lot and deadly mud puddles start to form around there when it rains. The showers aren't always warm- but the shower house has nice modern showers- and this year, they had someone come to the camp to see if he could put in a solar system to heat the water! Me and my other cabin mates had a BIG problem with a counselor- she gave someone an overdose of laxatives, she was hypocritical, mean, and she treated us like little kids (We were 12 and 13). But Lori yelled at her, and she can't some back next year. I love camp Betsey Cox. Can't wait to came back next year! -Fern, Pico Session 3 2008

BC is a great camp, but if you can't go without electricity you might not want to go. Most of the kids are really nice. Also the farm has the most adorable animals and the staff awsome. At the end of each session Drama puts on a play, kids get ribbons for passing tests and for how many years you've been coming, and we get to sing songs around a bonfire. It's alot of fun and I recommend this camp.

I just got back from camp and I loved it. It was my first year and I only wanted a one week camp, but at the end of the 3 weeks I didn't want to leave. We got to sleep until 8 and the food was delicious. All the other were so nice and the counselors were great. The farm had most adorable kittens and a cow, a calf, sheep, and pigs. The beds were pretty comfy and the cabins were really homey. I loved the pond! There was a water slide, a diving board, a flaoting dock, and a saturn. I had one of the best experiences in my life at BC. I love this camp!!! :-)

Camp Betsey Cox is one of the best things to have happened in my life. Going here for even just two weeks will change you as a person and it let me see the world in a completely different way.Now as an adult, I look back at my summers at BC as the greatest times in my life. The friends you make here are forever friends.Even if the facilities aren't luxurious, it sure makes you live differently and appreciate things more!

Camp is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have learned sooo much from camp BC. The friends that i have made and all the things that i have learned are soo amazing. Yes it is not a very fancy camps, but us girls do manage to "girlify" it in our own ways. But camp is not about the kinds of beds you have or what your cabbin looks like, its about the friends that you make and the values that you aquire. That you Lori for running such an AMAZING camp!!!!

This camp is amazing! I have only been going for two years, but I love it. I have tried 3 other camps before this and none come even close to being as good as BC. This camp is so much different from others. Instead of having to follow a schedule you can do what ever you want. So if you don't like the activity you can leave and go somewhere else. I defenitly recomend it to anyone who is a first timer.

BC is the best camp ever!!!! I went here last summer and the summer before and I talk and think about it every day! I made so many great friends and the experience is awesome. There are some parts that are a little less pleasant, like cold showers, but the activities and other things definitely make up for it. I wouldn't go anywhere else, it is so worth the money.

this camp is probably the best thing that ever happened to me. i am a better person today because of the summers i spent there. the food was good, i loved the lake (well i guess they call it a pond), some of the staff were my super heros i wante to be just like them. the facilietes are not perfect, specifically the wash house, but they pass ACA standards every year. there were occasional bugs but nothing repulsive. and i think its good that girls learn how to ajust. i loved the cabins with the fires and yes the shower s were always cold on social night, but who hasnt sufered to imress a boy?
homelife was hard but camp taught me how to learn, live love others and love myself.
this is not normal summer camp, if your looking for cat fights and boy drama it isnot the place for you. but if you could use a family there is no better plcae in the world

i admit that this camp is not for some people, but it is for me and all of my best friends that i have bet at bc. part of betsey cox charm is that it is usually unlike a home, we don't have running water in the cabin's, but its a great way to learn how to take advantage of that!!! without betsey cox i would not be the person i am today. "bc will shine tnite, bc will shine..." long live Betsey cox

This will be my 4th year going to camp BC i enjoy this camp very much because you make life long friends there, you learn very important life lessions as well as things that you can use in your everyday living, getting to choose your own daily routine... you have a sence of indipendince. By choosing your own activites it will help you as you get older and have to choose life changing, inportant desisions. Also if you are the kind of girl who likes a rustic camp with a touch "girls magic" this is the right camp for you!!!

Yes, this camp is fun. It is a good experience to be able to pick you activities and what you enjoy. Do not even consider going to this camp however if you are even a little bit high maintenance. There is no electricity in the cabins or bathrooms. The toilet and sink areas are discusting. they may as well just be spider infested pits. They are so dirty that many campers just go to the bathroom in the bushes around their cabins. Most of the showers don't work, and the ones that do are terrible. Most children take a shower every few days because of this. In the cabins, there is a huge spider and insect problem. There were always crowds of spiders right above my head and crawl on me when i was trying to sleep. To prevent this, I bought a bug net to keep them away from me, but the spiders would get into the bug net which was even worse. I wouldn't go back unless they uped their facilities.

I LOVED THIS CAMP! it was probably the best two summers of my life! EVERYONE was soo welcoming to me even though i was in a cabin where most of the kids knew each other from past years, i felt like they imediatly opened up to me and soon became some of my best friends! The staff was also extremely funny and caring and added to the whole experience! the activities were AMAZING!! i loved how you were able to chose what you wanted to do every day so there wasn't a strict schedule that you decided on. it helped me to be more idependent and responsible! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! i still miss it, sorry mom. and in response to the person who didn't like the lake, I thought it was a really nice pond! It wasn't too cold, almost warm for typical vermont. I guess it could seem could to someone from somehwere really warm. and you don't have to go swimming at 6:30 am, you are still sleeping then. Breakfast isn't untill 7:00 or 7:30 anyways. I LOVED THIS CAMP AND MISS IT! I STILL GET CAMP SICK ALL THE

I went to betsey cox (BC) 30 years ago. My daughters go to BC now. The camp builds leadership skills for life. It also take my daughters out of their homogeneous suburban Boston town and introduces them to the whole wide world. The camp introduces kids to living as community, stewardship, responsibility, independence and decision making; skills no longer taught in school. It is spiritual though not religious. Every year when they return from camp I notice the growth in their character.

Absolutely the best girls camp around. No schedules to run your day. Each day,in fact each hour, you choose what activity you will participate in. If you go to the pottery shop at 9 and want to stay until lunch you can! There are so many activities each day, art, weavery, wood shop, horseback, tennis, ropes, etc.. It is a great tripping camp with a scheduled trip day every week, you can sign up for the trip that interests you; rock climbing, sailing, mountain biking, hiking/camping. Great staff, many repeat year after year. Great brother camp, Sangamon, right across the pasture. Social activities and some coed activities but separate camps protects to closeness and fun of an all girl camp. Rustic cabins with a stone fireplace in each cabin. Great lodge. Excellent food. Find your best friends for life, the friends that really know you.

I'm a parent and Keewaydineesi whose daughter went to BC in the early 80's. No Songa then. BC was the best thing that ever happened to her. She is 30 now and still talks about it. Still has a couple of long distance friends who went there with her. She is sucessful executive with a fortune 500 company raising 3 kids and a husband. BC brought the confidence to be her best out for her. I'll always be a big fan. Thanks BC. A Dad.

this is a great camp that allows girls of all ages to gain confidence, and individuality as well as a real world experience. My experience at this summer camp is one of the fondeste memories i have. The staff and CIt's are fantastic, caring , funny and kind. The camp itself offers activities for everyone, things you dont get to do at home. And there is this bond between the campers themselves. each summer this camp becomes a family, one i return to every year, I love this place and it's people. i cant imagine anything i would rather do with my summer. At this amazing place i feel like i can just be 100% my self, an di am loved for being just who i am. This is A great place to spend the summer
