I went to Camp Lakota for many years. Everything was not perfect but I had the best times at this camp. I loved it. I liked the food a lot, and everyone was so nice, except for the head counsellor on the boy's side - Gil.

I attended this camp in the 1970's when Gil was the boys' camp director. I was physically and sexually abused by both of my counselors. I was told that if I alerted Gil about the abuse that I would be killed.

This camp is the best ever!! The counselers are the best and the activities are amazing. The lake is soooo nice and I can't wait for summer 2014 when I will be a tracker girl!! The only not so amazing thing is the food but its not bad. I <3 camp lakota!! 12790<3 <3

I think this camp is wonderful. The staff have been friendly and caring, the camp itself is beautiful and everyone has a great time, campers and staff alike. I miss it already!

Well run camp with caring Directors and staff. My children love this camp, have made live-long friends and would not even consider going somewhere else.

This camp ripped off. It is understaffed and there is a nasty mean lady who is he owner name Carrol and she just snaps on all the kids and calls them names.

i went to this camp for 5 years. the kids are bullies and the counselors dont care. tip: if you want to be a counselor you actually have to care about your campers and not make them have bad experiences. it also didnt help that a kid tried to kill himself my last summer... maybe if they actually did something about the large bully problem after parents called 1000 times none of that wouldve happened. peace out lakota you couldnt pay me enough money to go back to that**** hole.

I Love Lakota, Their Head Counselors Are Great!And Also Very Helpful For First Time Campers(And Parents), My Son Had An Amazing Time. They Could Put Some Money Into The Housing Units And Areas Where Activities Are Played. A Big Congrats To The Directors And Owner For Having Such An Amazing Team Working For Them, We Will Certainly Be Back Next Year.

camp Lakota is the best camp I have ever been to. It's def. Worth all the money. He food is good and the facilities are pretty good. Both girls and guys are really nice and the counselers [don't know how to spell it.] they watch over you by also give you a lot of freedom. Our camp is not a "clique" camp like camp lake Greeley. I went there and I had the worst time of my life. LAKOTA all the way!!

honestly all those kids who make the comments about it being a dump is not true. They probably just dont like the fact of not being in luxury. Honestly send your kids here its a great place and they will have a great time. CAMP LAKOTA IS AMAZING

i came this year as a tracker and it is a total dump. The people are mean and don't give you a chance. The only good thing about this camp is a cerfew. DON'T COME TO THIS CAMP!

I went there for one summer and was very disappointed. The councelors cursed alot and it was unsafe. I was locked in the bathroom because I told the head of boys side that the CIT's called me a big piece of ^#^%$#@^%&&. They also did nt supervise well and did not take care of the grounds. NOTE: If you are going to run a camp, charge enough money per session to keep the camp livable. I would rather pay more money to have a good summer than less money to ave a bad summer.

YAY! I LOVE LAKOTA!! This will be my fourth yearhere, and I think it is amazing. The counselors really listen and help out when you have a problem, and they are some of the sweetest people I've ever met! The friends I made my first year have lasted incredibly! We ALWAYS vist, and we can tell each other ANYTHING! The laughs and smiles never end! The bunks are really nice, and the campus layout is perfect. There are a lot of fun things campers can do at free or rest periods: Times where we can go play, take a nap, or jut relax. Our camp aso has wonderfu lhorseback riding, AND amazing go-carts: something everyone enjoys. We also have a great rock-wall and ropes course. Although trying new things is encouraged, no child is forced out of his or her comfort zone. Kids have bedtimes depending on age, and the food is GOOD!! There are many healthy options for vegetarians, those who keep Kosher, diabetics, and kids with food allergies. We also have free swim every day!GO LAKOTA

OMG camp lakota is so amazing!!!! it's my 7th year and i am a 2nd generation...i always loved it...my best friends are from camp and we are like sisters...there is no possible way anyone can hate this camp! : )

What an amazing summer my son had in 2007. First year at sleepaway, loved everything about this place. Counselors were great, very social atmosphere that gave kids chance to make friends throughout the camp, not just at their age level. Love that they get to choose a few activities to really focus on, in additon to the regular schedule. Campers are very un-spoiled,down-to-earth kids, not like the atmosphere my daughter experienced at other camps. Fantastic value, and an invaluable experience!

I went to lakota for years and loved every minute of it. Camp is what you make of it and if you make the best you will have the best. Lakota is a place to make lasting friendships and enjoy your summers. Those counselros complaining that you are overworked, good morning thats why they call it a job!!!! I wouldn't have changed my experience for anything. I love lakota.

i love this camp. it focuses on the social atmosphere and it's about making friends. if you're looking for a relaxing summer where you'll make your best friends ever and have an amazing time. go to camp lakota. we're not so hardcore about sports and that's cool because people go to camp for their friends. not sports. it's a chill place with awesome people and the staff is really nice and it'll be the ebst summer ever.

this is an amazingg camp for long lasting friendships and just have a good time, most camp there focus is to be hardcore with sports and have a alot of strict rules, camp lakota is totally oppesite. yes we do play sports but were not tough. also the rules are very easy to follow. the staff is pretty much made up of counsler who use to be camper and international. if you want to have long lasting friendships and the summer of you life go to camp lakota!!
