This summer will be my 6th year at Poko! I am a 3rd generation poko camper. i am in love with Poko! The facilities and great, and the staff are super friendly and considerate. Poko offers so many activities that i can't do at home. in fact, it is my home away from home! i am a competitive horse hunter-jumper and this camp offers an amazing riding program. Vespers on sunday evenings is in no way "promoting Christianity." also grace before meels is totally optional. Poko is an amazing place and i am very satisfied with my experiences there!!!

My children (boy - 10 yrs, and girl - 8 yrs) had a wonderful summer. Their counselors were caring, and they have not stopped talking about it since coming home - they were there for the 4 week session. They loved the food, nursing staff was caring and were all RN's. I was nervous sending them away for the first time, but I won't be able to keep them away. Prices are much more reasonable than the other camps we looked at. A great choice for the kids and for us! Very family oriented - same family for 105 years! NOT religiously connected at all. We are Jewish, and felt fine about the diversity at this camp. Loved it!

This is a great camp of hiking, swiming, sports, horse back riding, water activities, tribal traditions, and many more! If it rains or shines, you will always have fun. It is on a beautiful lake, and all the staff are very well trained in there class. Your children will feel at home, and treated with respect.

omg best camp ever!!!! i have been going there 4ever!!the activitys are great,hicking,swimming all like a dream vespers on sunday really brings out the best in u.the counclers r great. my mom went there as a kid and now i go.now i always want to be there.everyone loves the games like rev war games and indian games mot at all vilont. u build lifelong friendships.the food is great.it is AWESOME!

My daughter loved this camp. It is not at all "Christian" - Sunday nights are totally secular, but spiritual. It is very down to earth, fosters self-esteem and yet nurturing as well. People are friendly, activities phenomenal (especially the excellent hiking program.)

this camp is incredible. i am also jewish and i found that this camp was in no way promoting christianity. the sunday night get-together was where campers and counselors got up and shared a story or a poem or a song. and the grace before each meal was always an optional practice. this camp provided many opportunites to participate in activites that i couldnt at any other camp. i love spending summers in the beautiful adirondacks making friends and spending time with old ones. i have been attending this camp for my whole life and plan to continue coming for the rest of my life.

i absolutely hated this camp! i stayed for 4 weeks and left early b/c i couldn't stand it anymore. they never advertised that it was going to be a christian camp where they make you go to some thing on sundays and say prayers before you eat. i have nothing against that, but i'm a conservative jew and it seemed like they forced me to participate in these things. i also got really bad poison ivy and the nurse wouldn't help me at all! it was a horrible summer
