Click to report rating    3/31/15   5     4     5     4     5   I was a camper here and am about to go into my third summer as a counselor. It is my favorite place in the world. The facilities could always be better but we are working on that all the time. The lodge was just re-built over the past year and should be ready for use this summer. As a camper I loved all of the activities and I had great experiences with my counselors which is why I decided to apply. As a counselor I have met some of the most amazing people from all over the world. We truly become a family. I can't fully explain the charm of this camp. It is in one of the most beautiful areas of the Berkshires,it has a faculty that loves their job, and from my own experience it has campers who love it there too. It is definitely a stressful job due to the fact that we are almost constantly working but it is beyond worth it. RID: 48561
Click to report rating    6/12/12   4     3     4     4     5   Its true that if you're looking for your child to learn new sports like archery, water skiing, or whatever its not that great, but I LOVE camp hi-rock because of the people, the funness, and i love having college and high school kids as counselors! as well as always making sure we are safe, they are way more fun!!! :) i would tottally reccomend it if you're looking for your child to have fun. Click to report rating    4/30/12   5     5     5     5     5   I can not explain how amazing this camp is. But this year will be my 5th year. I made friends that will last a life time and if you meet the right people, every second of the day is so much fun. I disagree with the people who said the food is horrible because I actually really liked it.the expirence is amazing because you have so many people with you and so much freedom to try things you have not done. I met people from all around the world, France, Britian, Spain, South America, and heard all of their stories about how they found this camp. Its incredible because these people come back every year just for this camp expirence and the people they meet. The cabins are not horrible however, if you are 14 and up, you are considered a mohawk/algonquin and those cabins are AMAZING! So many activities are planned and the dances are so much fun! I LOVE U IAN AND BOBBY!!! RID: 40918
Click to report rating    5/6/11   3     1     1     1     2   I went to this camp, it really is not good. All the kids criticize and pick on each other, and the counselors really don't seem to care. I now go to a much better camp (YMCA Camp Belknap) and am having a much better experience. RID: 35839
Click to report rating    2/8/11   5     2     4     5     5   I love this camp! It's so awesome and all the people are really nice, I can say there are lots of different kinds of people and you can find people who share interests with you. Sailing is SO FUN even if you capsize every 5 minutes. Even though the cabins suck, the people and activities make it worth the money. There are lots of people from Spain and lots of oppurtunities to spend time with the friends you've made throughout the day. I love it at Camp Hi-Rock RID: 35058
Click to report rating    10/7/10   2     2     1     1     5   if you send your camper here to learn new things such as archery, swimming, tennis than forget it....there is noone at this camp that teaches sports with any experience with kids or the sport itself.....it is highschool and college kids with very limited knowledge about the activites they teach..thats why the price is lower than other camps..you get what you pay for, not much!      2/19/09   1     2     2     1     2   I hated Hi-Rock. The people there are nasty and the staff are especially bad. RID: 29052
Click to report rating    2/2/08   4     3     3     3     4   This camp is awesome. YOU HAVE TO TAKE WATERSKIING! IT ROCKS! I am pretty shy and I made friends with everyone in my bunk. The counselors are so cool, a lot of them come from different countries like england, france, australia and more. The facilities are pretty good, cabins are good, but not that nice. Food isnt that good, but its camp so what do you expect. Soccer, tennis, and frisbee are fun but dont take archery because they only have 3 bows and you have to take turns with like 15 other people so you have to wait a lot. RID: 19775
Click to report rating    12/3/07   5     5     5     5     5   This Camp is AMAZING! I went there for 7 years and loved every minute. I learned how to swim, windsurf, waterski, hike, and made friendships that I still have to this day. I'll never forget you Hi-Rock! RID: 17678

By the way being at camp for me is like being at my second home. When I go back every year , it makes me feel like I know where i am, and the people are sooooo cool, I mean i have my 4 best friends, and my favorite councilors and its just soooo amazing. Come heer bacause its my 6th year and i love it, so you should too. RID: 11132

Click to report rating    4/4/07   5     2     4     4     5   Camp Hi-Rock has been one of the best things that has happened to me. Starting as a camper there, and now being a counselor, it's something I look forward to every single summer, counting down the days from the past fall. The facilities are a little bootleg, but the people there are outstanding, some of the best you'll ever meet. I really do wish that I could give my experiences justice in this little blurb, but all I can really say is that I've made some of my best friends here and have had some of my best times here. I've told people constantly that being a camp counselor at this camp is my dream job, and that if there was a way I could remain forever twenty, I would never stop coming. I love this camp. RID: 9429
Click to report rating    2/10/07   5     5     5     5     5   Last year, 2006, was my first year at Hi-Rock. I went session 1 and thought it was the greatest thing I have ever done in my entire life! After going session 1 and seeing how much fun I had I immediately signed up for the next session. Now everyday that I happen to zone out, the first thought is my favorite place in the the world, Camp Hi-Rock. I am anticipating this summer because I can't imagine any other place I would want to be rather than this place because of the friendly people, staff, and just about everything else! This camp offers everything you can think of, new cultures, [Campers and staff from other countries go to Hi-Rock!] safe enviornment, and never a time when you are bored. I was always busy with things that I never remembered to write home to my family, which soon got me in trouble ;). If anything this is the place to come, where you can be a kid no matter if you are 7, 15, or 22 years old and looking to re-experience your youth. This camp is unexplainably amazing. RID: 7699
Click to report rating    2/1/07   5     5     5     5     5   I love this camp, clearly these people dont understand that the food is part of the experiance. I love camp and its my 6th year there and im comin back. Ian is the best counciler ever, so is my sister and brother, YMCA Camp Hi Rock forever! RID: 7417
Click to report rating    10/18/06   5     4     4     5     5   really good, especially when you compare it to what other camps cost. Love the staff, the people are all really friendly. The only complaint I have is the food. Horrible! Make sure you have someone at home to send you care packages or else mooch off someone else RID: 4108
Click to report rating    7/15/06   5     4     4     5     5   This is the FRIENDLY camp: staff and kids alike! You can be yourself here. Nice, airy spacious cabins in a beautiful wooded setting. The ropes course is tops and the lake is very clear as well. There could be a greater variety of arts and crafts, however. And the food could be improved. But all in all, Hi-Rock is a great camp and one to be repeated summer after summer! RID: 1421
Click to report rating    5/22/06   5     4     5     5     4   THIS CAMP IS PERFECT! it has everything from water sports in its lake to shooting .22s in its mountain area. There are many hikes and overnights between the activities and groups, and I havn't met anyone who didn't like their stay there. RID: 393
