When I picked my son up from camp he was quite ill. The staff had no idea. He got sick at the end of the first week. I took him to the doctor right away. He had lost 9 pounds and had strep throat. There was puss oozing from his throat. He couldn’t eat because his throat hurt so bad. He told his counselor his throat was soar. The counselor looked at his throat and said it was fine. He was coughing constantly, not eating and falling asleep at activities but no one noticed my son was sick. I chose this camp because it had great reviews on their site. Turns out they just delete the bad reviews. Mine was deleted immediately. When I talked to a supervisor at the camp, Cody, he explained how everything is my sons fault. Letters home are read before they are sent to parents. They are told to only write positive things in their letters. My poor kid who is so shy and tries never to be a bother was overlooked in a sea of kids and suffered greatly. It’s heartbreaking.

My son attended 3 years in a row. When he couldn't attend the 4th year, they kept our deposit and didn't even care why he couldn't make it. Makes the whole thing sleazy when it's really all about the money. Sadly, the camp owner is a billionaire and now I know why......he refuses to part with the $275 deposit that actually means something to my family.

My daughters (13 and 8) love Olympia and can't wait to go back each summer! The staff is amazing and the facilities are fantastic! There is a/c in the cabins which is a must in summer in Texas. They love that they get to select their activities.

This place is of course well known. Top ratings everywhere. The camp is great so I heard but the staff, the directors not so much. I applied and had an interview to work their in the summer. I never heard back from them a month later still nothing. So I sent them an email saying I haven't heard back and was wondering if I got the job or not still nothing. Please at least have the respect to email me back even if I didn't get it. you would think be a Christian camp they would but apparently not. With that being said sign your kids up for pine cove!

My daughter just came back and she LOVED it!! She met a ton of new people, learned new things and overall had a blast. She begged me to sign up for next year (which we did). I do agree that it is a bit pricey but it is worth it!

2013 was my son's first year at Camp Olympia and first year at sleepaway camp. He has already asked and signed up to go back next year. He said all of the counselors were nice and the food was great. He enjoyed the evening activities and the competitions. He can't wait until next year.

The staff is great! They worry about your every need and pay good attention to you. The facilities are pretty good. The activities would have been a five if they had more safety concerns. I don't think they should let 7 & 8 year olds have full control over a rifle. Other than that, it was great. Personal attention and monetary value are both great.

The. best summers of my life have been spent at Camp Olympia. I have been going for the last 8 years and I have made lifelong friends. I met my best friend here, and we talk everyday. Camp O is the place where you could send your child to be happy away from home. Every counselor, worker, and camper is nice. When I was a young camper, my counselors were my moms away from home. They cared for me and I loved talking to them. Now that I am one of the oldest campers, the counselors are like older sisters and brothers, and I look up to them greatly. The traditions, competitions, and activities are all fun. This camp is expensive, but every penny is worth it. The day I come home is the day I start my countdown for when camp starts next summer.

I attended camp as a camper for 8 years, and i've been on the staff for two summers. I can honestly tell you that of all the camps i've ever attended, camp olympia blows them out of the water in every single facet. As a camper, I looked up to the counselors and full time as role models, and they always were attentive, positive, and seriously just NICE. as a counselor I feel lucky to consider every single person my friend as well as my co-worker. The facilities are beautiful, clean, and never look anything less than new (especially the bathrooms, which ARE brand new.) All of the money camp makes goes into the camp, and it shows. There are dozens of activities to choose from so every experience is unique, but you get really close to your cabin mates-- the girls i bunked with and I regularly keep in touch and i'm 20 years old. it's definitely a little pricy, but it's worth every single penny. my three siblings and i came home every summer insisting that it was the best yet.

Camp O is a great, I really liked it. I started when I was 13, and camp back the following year AND the next. I have to say that if you are competitive (this is by no means mean competition though!) then you will LOVE this camp. I've never had a 'great' counselor though. The food is fine and activities exhilarating. Choose this camp!

This camp is AMAZING. Pretty much all of the staff are very entertaining and actually care about the campers. All of the cabins are very nice and have air conditioning and fans. They have over 35 different activities to choose from and even better is that every camper gets his or her own personalized schedule. The food is also really good and they even order Dominos Pizza every Saturday night. At Camp Olympia you really do make lifetime friends that you get to see every summer. it can get a bit pricey but trust me, it is well worth it.
