The facilities are rustic to be sure, but I think it creates a more memorable experience for the girls. Staff are excellent; dedicated and fun individuals. I am always impressed by the stories I hear of their creativity and caring for each girl. The value of this camp is amazing, so affordable and instills Girl Scout values while still being fun and interesting for girls who are not scouts. Working with the stables is great; by far the best experience at camp.

Camp Cedar Point is the Girl Scout Camp for Shagbark Council, and although struggled through several new directors, has begun to pick up steam again. Camping is a great experience, and through available camperships and support from United Way, girls are able to learn outdoor skills such as swimming, boating, fire building, archery, hiking, etc. while developing self-confidence in the beautiful setting on the lake.
