I cannot say enough positive things about Merrick Woods! MW has been a HUGE blessing to my girls. Not only do they wake up early each morning looking forward to another exciting, fun-filled day at MW, but I can go to work and not stress or worry for a minute wondering if the girls are safe/bored/alone/insert your worry here. As a parent, you will always feel safe knowing that your kids have certified, caring teachers surrounding them. The kids even take swim lessons and reach American Red Cross levels of safety and skill. You also will not realize you are even in Merrick or Long Island for that matter once you enter the sprawling, wooded campus! We are very grateful to MW ! Every summer my girls look forward to re-connecting with their camp friends...it is true: your family grows up with Merrick Woods! LOVE this place!

i went to this camp from when i was 3 all the way until i turned 11. it was a great overall camp to go to., there is a lot of spirit like in league and olympics and you can really get to know other kids and counselors very well.the one thing i recommend is going with one of your friends to start out just so u have someone to start out with. my current counselors are now in college and i still keep in touch with them. when u do become older the camp may not be as good for you with the lack of activities but overall one of the best camps

i love this camp so much. ive been there since G3(since i was 5 or 6, almost 6 years) and im now in my first year of TNT (red bus) i absolutely love this camp. everyone is nice and welcoming. and i have a bunch of friends there and i cant wait to go back next year for my 7th year.!

This camp is great, I was in Tweens TNT and am now a staff person there it is so much fun, it is a little expensive and some really quiet kids can get lost in the crowd but as a counselor, I had the best summer ever!!!

As a tween at merrick woods this camp it is very fun. You go on the best trips and it is the best. The camp grounds are another story. If you like sports then you would like senior league which is my fave. The food is very good there. I am friends with most of the counselors.

THIS CAMP IS AMAZING AND I WOULD LOVE TO BE IN THE MIND OF A PERSON THAT DISLIKES THIS CAMP. I HAVE BEEN GOING HERE SINCE I 5 YEARS OLD AND ALL OF MY SUMMERS SPENT AT THIS CAMP ARE UNFORGETABLE. THE STAFF AT MERRICK WOODS IS AWESOME. THEY ACTUALLY LET YOU BE KIDS UNLIKE SOME OTHER CAMPS, THEY UNDERSTAND YOU AND THEY ARE VERY EASY TO GET ALONG WITH. I HAVE BEEN TO OTHER CAMPS AND NOTHING IS ANYTHING LIKE MERRICK WOODS.

I have gone to this camp since i was two. I grew up at this camp. The staff is unbelieveably kind. In addition the camp provides excellent facilities mixed with extensive camp activities. Although the locker rooms are below sanitary conditions the pools are large and there are never too many campers in at one time. I would recommend this camp to anyone who asks

HOW DO YOU NOT LIKE THIS CAMP? IVE BEEN GOING HERE 7 YEARS ITS SO GOOD. YOU MEET THE COOLEST PEOPLE EVER AND THE COUNSLERS ARE LIKE KIDS. THEY HAVE FUN WITH YOU NOT COMMAND YOU. MERRICK WOODS IS AWSOME UNLESS UR TO WIMPY FOR AN INTENSE CAMP

this camp was the first camp ive went to. i was in the tnt program.i had alot of fun. all the consilers there were nice except 4 maby 1 or 2. all my friends were nice they were good people. i wish i was going back there but im gin 2 some other gay camp MERRICK WOODS ROX

Well I've been at this camp since I was in second grade, and I've loved it!. But that all changed since I was in TNT this year. The trips weren't great and to top that off out of 12 counselors there were only 4 good ones. When we were in Hershey Park, in Pennsylvania, a counselor lost a kid. Once when we were at a pool I was with two of my friends and one of the good counselors. Then one of the bad counselors came over to us n started yelling at one of my friends who did nothing. She called her very bad things and she made my friend cry. Then she lyed about the whole thing so she wouldnt get in trouble which was ridiculous. And as if the kids don't have enough problems with each other, the counselors fight like there kids during camp I mean I thought they were supposed to be setting an example. Well, I learned my lesson and I won't be back there this summer but in 2 years I'm going to work there and maybe then the camp will change a little =]. Well i know there will be good counselors!

This is good for a "starter" camp. The owners are nice and grounds are pretty BUT its easy to outgrow this camp due to the lack of activities and how the kids outgrow them fast. It was good while it lasted but it was time to move on to a bigger camp with lots more to do there. Thank you for a couple of good years and thank you for recommending me to a camp in Melville that has tons of activities and a lot more campers and activities. We will always reccomend you to campers of a younger age.

My kids have been there for years and have always been very happy there, but I do feel it's somewhat expensive for a day camp.

I did TNT, the teen travel program, at this camp. It was a lot of fun. The staff was nice and they paid attention to the campers. Good for day travels =]
