Summer 2013, Staff was terrible they showed no care in the program. The entire staff lacked energy and true care to make the summer experience out of this world for the boys. Daily information on activities was poor, campers had to guess on where activities were going to be held. Food service was equally poor, facilities consisted of an old circus style tent, not enough tables, no pre-planned sitting-campers, staff was seen eating first, the food portions were small and of poor quality. For the amount of money that was spent by each camper, you would expect a good meal at the very least, not frozen chicken nuggets, frozen pizza slices, uncooked pasta, burned meatballs and shriveled up sausages. The lake staff was good, but they had been overbooked, having kayakers only one day on the water, which is confirmed to have leaches. The fishing program was a joke, the staffers did not care to instruct and confirmed the lake had not been stocked since 2011. We will not return to Whittset

I'd agree with previous poster on dining facilities. Not enough seating, no assigned seating. Food quality was decent. Shower houses were old and need to be rebuilt. No permanent bathrooms (Porta-Potties only). Camp counselors were good and went out of their way to make sure the boys finished their merit badge requirements. Camp was well run. Many activities for adults including COPE. We will probably return again.

This is a merit badge mill camp. We had boys who never showed up to 1 session who were given merit badges. They refuse to fill out blue cards given computer print outs instead on blue paper which messes up the boys when they are making their Eagle Scout books. The staff is more interested in how much fun they are having then the campers. We had boys go to classes that no counselor ever showed up to teach and then were berated by staff for asking were someone was. Dining is a mess. Can not sit with your troop and ate most meals sitting on the ground because there were not enough places to sit.
