Click to report rating    8/11/19   2     4     3     2     3   Food is of poor quantity. We actually had salad which was limp and rotten. The meat loaf wouldn't feed to my dog. They actually served pizza burned to a crisp. Two nights of dinner where edible. They put no effort into cooking of any seasoning. Bring hot sauce!!!Couldn't even get half and half for coffee. Was told by staff that Sandy beach gets what is left over after other two camps are supplied. Stayed at Sandy Beach. Nice showers. Staff too young and paid poorly. Merit badge counselors signed off merit badges on some in less than 35 minutes no joke. My son took archery and bows in very poor condition. Some counselors rude and uncaring. Our kids did mile swim . You had to prequaify so they new how many swimmers there would be only not to have enough boats, ours or staff to accommodate. They canceled some kids all together. Disfunction galore. Ask one counselor or staff and get different answers. Don't know if we will be back RID: 52807

Click to report rating    7/25/14   1     1     2     1     1   Staff Twins who ran the range were very curt and even rude. The food was poor quality, I got some moldy bread, expiration dates are at the end on the time period. Water clarity is nonexistant, very high iron content in lake. RID: 47693
Click to report rating    8/9/13   1     3     2     1     2   The camp couselors were obviously taught to run a tight ship. The problem is they are not mature enough to be able to use discretion.., consequently they are rigid and arrogant. I had an issue just about every day with one of them. Many of them have very long hair, earnings and appear unkempt, not the role model for my son. You want specifics... the Three Point head Counselor has hair almost to his shoulders with foo man choo and several others. The brother councelors on the range were arogant overbearing as they made adults beg for permission to sit on the bench waiting to shoot. I have shot on ranges for 25 yrs of my career and never been treated like i was by that kid! I could go on and on as well as my other scout masters these yawgoog counselors have waisted enough of my time.Look elsewhere! RID: 45595
Click to report rating    7/15/13   5     5     5     5     5   Overall the best camp i've been to of late. Friendly staff, great merit badge courses, and a great scouting experience. I would definitely recommend this place to any scout! RID: 45190
Click to report rating    7/10/13   5     5     5     5     5   We just got back from camp Three Point. What an awesome place. Beautiful facility, great staff, kid food (what did you expect ?). Scouts had a blast. definately going back. RID: 45086
Click to report rating    8/8/12   2     5     2     2     2   Overcrowded MB classes led to kids being shut out, staff keeps to itself at meal times they sing the same lame songs and chants up to 10X per meal, Sat nite camp fire was the worst I ve ever seen and I seen 50 or more. SM training was way below par, Im an adult with 10 yrs experience and an Eagle and I will not go back to camp Yagoog. The bathrooms were nice and the food was good, the camp has potential but needs better staff and a camp fire done by the kids who stay there not the camp staff who put on 2 shows both Monday and Sat both lame. ALso when we booked a canoe trip they sent us away and said come back tomorrow, we did and they tried to do it again. There is very poor comunication and planning is basically first come first served. Too bad cause the camp is close to me, Id rather drive to NH. RID: 42283
Click to report rating    11/2/11   1     1     1     1     1   My son went to this camp and the teachers laughed at him becuse he couldn't climb up a wall. RID: 37198
Click to report rating    9/5/11   4     5     4     4     4   Best camp in the northeast. Camp staff make every effrot to assit. Camp Checkin is the best and easiest. Check in procedures and progrgams spell out the steps and it truely is easy. Property and Lake are wonderful. Merit badge programs are many and trails are plentiful. do admit that some popular merit badge courses can get large. Our scouts and leaders can't wait to come back. RID: 36890

Click to report rating    12/14/08   3     2     4     3     4   W just had our troop meeting and we dicided to go back to our old camp in Connecticut and not Camp Yahoo! I don't know why people rave about this place. It is way too crowded. It's like going to camp in New York city or something. You can spit from your tent into the next campsite. There are three camps but only one rifle range and one sailing center plus the dinning halls don't have windows so you have to eat with flies. RID: 28019
Click to report rating    7/8/08   5     5     5     5     5   Coming to Yawgoog each summer is the highlight of my scouting year. The camp is absolutely beautiful, the history...amazing...the staff...dedicated. The camp can get any type of scout involved in their own unique way. It really is a high point of my summer. I'll be attending Yawgoog for my sixth summer come next Sunday. RID: 24671
Click to report rating    5/29/08   4     4     5     5     5   Even after seven years camping at Yawgoog, the camp never gets boring. Hiking the trails, swimming a mile, working on a merit badge or catching up on some advancement requirements, there is always something that be done. The price does tend to inflate each year (310.00 for summer 08) and the food could be better (though it does fill you). Nonetheless it is a great experience for scouts and scouts at heart. Joe M. Click to report rating    9/30/07   1     2     3     1     2   One of the worst weeks of my life. They tried to bribe me with a free week so I wouldn't complain, but there is not way I'd go back. There are other BSA camps in the area that are much better. RID: 15694

Click to report rating    8/8/07   4     5     5     5     5   This camp is great. This past week was my sixth year and it never gets dull. The things to do are never ending and you always get something new everytime. If you are a Boy Scout looking for an amazing experience then this is the place to go! Hoorah Hoorah Medicine Bow Rah Rah Rah YEA! RID: 13772
Click to report rating    6/12/07   4     5     4     4     5   Camp Yawgoog is a very good camp. Apparently, a camp from San Diego came to Rhode Island just for a week. RID: 11933
Click to report rating    5/19/07   5     3     5     5     5   It's a really good camp, with lots of things to do, you can shoot rifles, swim, climb a rock wall, archery. But the bathroom smell horrible in Medicine Bow, that's really my only complain.I been going for 7 years. RID: 10951

Click to report rating    10/29/06   5     5     5     5     5   So far I have gone to Yawgoog as a camper for 7 years, and this past summer was my first year as a staffman. Every year I have loved this place, and plan to come back for many years to come to work! RID: 4423
