Click to report rating    6/27/19   4     3     4     4     3   The camp has changed recently. Activities aren't as high quality as before and things look kind of shabby, not very well put together or maintained. Staff consistency has also declined somewhat. Kids seem happy, though. RID: 52698
Click to report rating    5/13/17   5     4     5     4     5   My sister and I went to Willowbrook 2009-2013, I think, and I loved it. It's different from most other camps because the different activities are under EZ-up shelters around the grounds, and you can just wander around and do whatever you want. So you can spend all day working on one project, or visit a bunch of different activities in a row. At the beginning of the day, the counselors at each activity announce a featured project for that day, but really you can do whatever you want, which is awesome. But even without scheduling, the camp is full of tradition, from Squiggles' Morning Kiss to the daily Thank You, from the Sprinkler to Wipe-Out, from the musicals to the Pata Pata to the camp-wide Virginia Reel at the end of the summer. It's just an amazing place for all ages, and I would recommend it to any creative kid. RID: 50714

2/1/17   5     5     5     5     5   Willowbrook draws children from the entire Portland area. Campers choose freely from an abundance of arts activities in an environment of exploration supported by a hugely talented staff. My children grew up there and made friendships that have lasted into their 30s! The City of Tualatin has reserved a large section of Browns Ferry Park for Willowbrook for over 25 years and gives tremendous support to ensure it continues as part of the cultural fabric of the community. Many children have had their first contact with theatre, different forms of dance, instruments, and many crafts that are usually not taught in one place. These include stained glass, stage painting, photography, film, Native American beadwork, weaving on a big loom, and basket making. The Nature center has an amazing collection of samples, and the kids can learn actual dissection and how to use a microscope! Daily nature walks around the park are a favorite activity. Overall, this is an awesome camp for kids! RID: 50392

4/27/08   4     5     5     5     5   I LOVE WILLOWBROOK!! Basically it is a HUGE plot of land with like, 30 tents each with a different craft. There is weaving, photography, clay, dance, theater, you name it. I also like it because it is ALL outdoors and there is a pole with a hose at the top and they spray water so u can go under it and cool off. There is really no instruction to the day and you just meander around and find something you wan to do. My favorite station is probably Puppetry. IT ROCKS!! Oh I also know that this year the theater production is Annie if you want to be in it. RID: 22718
