Click to report rating    9/9/10   1     3     1     1     1   My son attended this camp and highly disliked it. not only did it cost us thousands to send him to stay in a ritzy hotel room, but he complained about the general activities and the people on staff. The director George Vozeolas is a nice guy, but never seems to be particularly involved with the kids as far as I'm concerned. He likes to talk with them at dinner about how the camp could be improved, "then never actually does anything about it" in the words of my twelve year old son. While my son loves sports, especially tennis, he was unable to pick any of his activities, as the camp runs on a block schedule and oftentimes the kids end up doing something they either don't need, like swimming lessons, or biking aimlessly around Waterville Valley on mountain bikes. The counselors I met look constantly exhausted and don't seem to get much of a break from the kids.the tennis director is a little more with it, but was often rude to my son and seemed to favor certain children. Never again. RID: 34016
Click to report rating    4/29/08   5     5     5     5     5   My twelve-year old daughter, attended WV Summer Camp this past summer and can't wait to return! Although we have spent summers in the White Mountains for many years, this was something different and novel. She was able to hike, bike, golf, play tennis, etc. while making new friendships. Some very special bonds were formed and quite simply, this would not have happened without the camp. The sports camp fills a large void in the valley as the "tweens" have outgrown the local programs, yet are too young to find employment. What an incredible opportunity for both the program and these kids to experience all that the valley has to offer while developing a love and appreciation for lifetime skills. Thanks! RID: 22804
