We went one session and it wasn't a fit. The staff was excellent however my son was miserable and I had to beg them to let me speak to him. The bunks are gross; boys bunks have not been renovated. Boys bathrooms are separate from bunks so you have to go outside to enter. I know lots of kids who go here and love it; we just started too late and would prefer nicer bunks.

This camp literally changed my life. I saw someone commented that its buggy and it smells and the showers are gross and song session and judaica are boring..this person isn't cut out for camp. Sme people aren't and that's fine..but it's CAMP!!! Of course there are bugs and the camp may smell sometimes but that's because we live I the outdoors. I had an amazing time every year and I sob when it's time to leave. The staff were amazing!! Whenever I had a problem they'd listen and help me and this camp is amazing if you do what's called buying I'm. Which means you out 110% into every activity and thing even if you hate it! Because that's what makes it fun!! I love this camp because it brought outta side in me that I didn't even know I had. And it's so different then home and no one cares what you look like or who you arer or where you came from. And sure you may not be friends with everyone there but that's everywhere! Not just at camp. So send your kids here. I know I will. D2K14 FOREVER

This has been the best experience for my child. This camp experience is something I as a parent will always treasure. She fostered incredible friendships, made memories that will last a life time. Each person was more helpful then the last whether I had a packing questions or called to check in on my daughter. The directors at CYJ encourage the parents to call and check in on their kids and it made me feel better knowing I could always check on her. I never felt like a bother when I called. Last year I only sent her for one session but this year she is attending season. She didn't want to miss a thing! She came back from camp as a confident, friendly young woman. SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!

I dont have 1 bad thing to say about this camp. I was a long time camper / counselor here and some of my most favorite memory's were shared at YJ. Not only does this camp have a bunch of different activities to choose from, it is run by 3 outstanding directors. When I was both a camper and counselor, Ken, Marcy & Jamie catered to everyone's needs. They were always there for support and advice whenever needed. Being former YJ campers themselves, they truly care about this place and it shows. I know everyone thinks that there summer camp is the best, however there is no camp like YJ. Everyone who attends this camp leaves with a special bond they cant share or describe to anyone else. It is truly a special place. Another great thing about YJ is how there is a ton of international staff. Being from a small town, this was a great experience for me to learn about different cultures. I truly wouldn't change one thing about YJ. It is the best experience anyone could ask for!!!

This camp is run by joyless directors that play favorites, selectively enforce rules and bully the staff. Much of the staff is very good but i gave the overall score a 1 because of the terrible leadership. The facilities and activities are fine. Nothing special but well kept. Your kids may have fun here because kids love camp. As a parent you will not enjoy the experience. If when you read this Ken and Marci Kornreich have been replaced as directors, this Camp YJ may be a good choice. If they are still there you may want to keep looking.

This camp SUCKS! the food is really good but the girls are REALLY clingy and bratty! my bed was RIGHT next to the bathroom and there was a hole in the wall!!! it smelled like crap too. the activites you get to sign up for are fun, but judeica and song session are super boring!! girls are OBSESSED with boys and thats all they ever talk about, i really liked waterskiing but when my whole bunk came to watch me (IT WAS MY FIRST TIME) they LAUGHED at me!! i couldnt believe how mean they were! showers were gross, bugs everywhere, really open so other girls have to see other girls. this camp was a waste of my 4 weeks of summer and a waste of my parents money!

the camp was ok, but i only had 1 really good friend, but she had a better friend than me... umm the drama department is pretty bad, but the art is really fun! The pool is really nice, and the lake is too. I don't like how they made you do certain activities, like song session. I like the food alot too! The bunkmates can be really bratty, and act fake when you're mad at them. The counselors are great, and are soo much fun to be around! The bathrooms are pretty gross, and you have to shower with everyone... gross! Overall, it's good as long as you have lots of spirit and have really good friends there.

The staff is cool - they're role s for us kids. They're not very attentive though. I went to YJ when I was 11-13, and I had a very variable experience... one of my most vivid memories was during midday, when it rained and all the activities were canceled. Everyone was very exited to be able to go back to the cabins (which are nice, by the way). But then I thought... if I'm this exited to not be doing the activities, why am I here? And I didn't find an answer.
