The staff and leadership are not tuned in to the kids. They do not train the staff well. This is not a camp I would send my child to again. Once was more than enough. Look to other URJ camps for a better experience. I see that another review cited teasing. It is rampant there and no one, at any level, does anything about it. It is not the warm, welcoming atmosphere that they advertise.

The staff are fun and friendly. The activities are a lot of fun and the counselors try to "bring out the jewish" in everything. This camp is a great place to go to become more connected to the jewish community

Terrible place for teasing without mature staff to watch out for the kids. Not a place for kids to be "safe".

I've gone to Camp Newman for 5 years now. It is literally the best camp in the US!! Israeli scouts come, and teach us about the Jewish heritage. Yom Sport, Yom Israel, are just a couple of activities that we do at Camp Newman!! I love this camp so much, I will go there until I go to college. -The Best Camper of all time... Steven Devor. P.S. Next year, I'm going to RISHONIM!!

I have been to more summer camps than i can count INCLUDING TAWONGA and Newman is by the far the best summer camp I've been to. I look forward to the next summer the day that the session ends. Anyone who wants to have the most amazing summer of their life should go.

I look forward to coming back to camp all year long!
Being at camp is the greatest thing ever and i always have the best time. You make amazing friends and there are a lot of awesome things to do. I've been going for 6 yrs. and i can't wait to go back!

This is the best camp in the world i love camp newman so much and keep in touch with all my friends from there. I went to a couple other jewish camps before newman and they werent nearly as great! Camp newman was great and i hope i can return next year because i loved it. I love those its it ice cream cookies!!!

Camp has been one of the most amazing experiences for me...I just finished my fifth summer there as a CIT, and I cannot wait to return next summer as staff! I love how amazing camp was for me, and I want to give that sense to future campers!

a GREAT way to make amazing jewish friends & memories. food is typical gross camp food, and for the older campers it's annoying camping with little kids (why we need swig). otherwise, a great place. you will come back with a new proud jewish identity.
