4/28/16   1     2     2     1     1   Park Shore is a for profit organization which is fine. The staff and ownership are unprofessional. Over the age of 4, this camp is synonymous with a day care facility and offers no value or growth opportunity for children. No enrichment. Would recommend sleepaway camp, sports or performing arts camps or Summer classes vs this facility. RID: 49568
Click to report rating    3/2/16   5     5     5     5     5   Best. Camp. Ever. Both of my children went there and came home from camp every day exhausted and happy. Great camp, great staff and beautiful facilities. They loved it so much that they both became staff members. My youngest daughter went to their preschool. Her teachers were amazing. The curriculum is amazing and truly prepared her for elementary school. LOVE. RID: 49453
Click to report rating    8/22/14   5     5     5     5     5   Both my kids have gone here for three years and for two years. They both love it. The staff is very attentive to them. The camp is smaller than others and may not offer as much but it is a wonderful place to send children. RID: 47892
Click to report rating    8/9/13   5     5     5     5     4   These people are really all about the children. My daughter attended this summer and it was her first camp experience. We only had her go 3 days a week for 4 weeks. She was going to miss the skit show by one week. She had practiced for it and was looking forward to it. She would have been disappointed if she missed it. I spoke to the people in charge about possibly extending for 1 week. They told me it wasn't necessary and invited my daughter back for the 1 day at no charge. They even fed her lunch and snack. It was so nice of them. They really take care of your children and they are extremely accommodating to your budget. Unlike other camps where children after a certain age have to stay for 5 days till 5, they let you choose what days and you can do a midday and stay till 2:10. My daughter's first year there was so successful we already booked for next year. Wish is was less expensive, but it's comparable to what is around here. RID: 45591

Click to report rating    2/12/13   5     5     5     5     5   My 2 year old daughter attended Park Shore this past summer and LOVED it. She was in the toddler program and learned to swim, played on the playgrounds, did arts and crafts and met a lot of new friends. She can't wait to come back this summer. RID: 43656
Click to report rating    1/15/13   1     1     1     1     1   Owners very cheap; counselors underpaid and very unhappy. RID: 43398
Click to report rating    11/2/12   3     3     4     3     2   My daughter went to this camp for 10 years and really did not make any friends after all that time. As the kids got older, they got clicky. It got worse in travel camp. My child refused to go after an episode with mean girls that the camp did not handle well at all. The mean girls won. My daughter changed camps. I also have a younger child that has been picked on. One summer it was so bad, that the camp gave us the summer for free. This is going to be the last shot at this camp before I pull out my other kid too. The bullies keep winning here. Unfortunate that this is what my kids will remember. RID: 42974

Click to report rating    12/5/11   5     4     4     5     5   They staff is amazing and the directors took a personal interest in my children & knew all of them by name within the first few days. The prices were very reasonable for the facilities & activities they offered, in relation to neighboring camps. RID: 37424

Click to report rating    3/3/09   4     3     4     4     4   Above Average camp. Slightly overpriced. The Sports Track is a very good and the staff are loving and caring. I have been going for 8 years and still love it. The older Travel programs. Superteens and Explorers go on overnight trips that help build independence while being with their friends. Last year, we went to Virginia for four days. Great fun. Only improvement that should be made are the lockers and bathrooms. They are a little outdated and could be redone RID: 29160
Click to report rating    12/10/08   3     2     2     2     2   Not nearly the best camp on long island. The owners are untouchable. If you want to speak to them you have to go through 2 different people. Its losing the family and fun feeling it once had. and with this economy they should drop there prices to halp. OVERPRICED RID: 27911
Click to report rating    10/12/08   1     1     1     1     1   My kids attended this camp and had the best experience of their life. The programs, activities, staff, grounds, and facilities were top notch for the price. I will definitely send my kids back here for many more seasons. RID: 26982

Click to report rating    8/24/07   4     5     5     5     2   I attended this camp for about 8 years, worked for two (1986-1996) and absolutely loved it. It has been ten years since I was actually on the grounds so I don't know how much has changed, other than driving by on my way to my parents house. I went to the camp with one of the owners daughters and made tons of friends. Most of my friendships lasted through high school. I remember always having great relationships with my counselors and the staff. I feel that the camp gave me the experiances that I would never have had. The day to day activities were great (I still have some crafts) but the best was being in the teen travel program. That is where most of my memories come from. I always felt like Park Shore was my home away from home. I know it is pricey, but hey it is in DIX HILLS! I would recomend this camp only to those people that want thier children to have a great summer, but don't expect a lot of high technology. It is just a good ol' fashion day camp! RID: 14446
Click to report rating    3/15/07   5     5     5     5     5   Great camp, great staff, Gorgeous property. Now I understand why they call it "the # 1 place to have fun" The things they do there are unbelievable RID: 8665
Click to report rating    2/18/07   5     5     5     5     5   What an amazing place to spend the summer. The staff is very accomodating and kind to the campers. the property is maintained beautifully and new additions are always being added. my children are looking forward to their 4th and 5th summers. RID: 7932
Click to report rating    2/14/07   3     4     5     4     3   I went there for 9 years as a kid, from age 6 to age 14, and with the exception of one year (when I was 7) I had a lot of fun there. You could say that it isn't perfect but nothing is, it's a little pricy. It gave me memories that I can hold onto forever, though I've grown apart a little from the friends I made there. I worked there as a CIT one year, and compared to the horror stories my friends that worked at other camps had, it wasn't a bad place to work if you like being a camp counsler. My little sister still goes there and she loves it. RID: 7820

Click to report rating    8/22/06   5     5     5     5     5   I went to Park Shore every summer of my childhood, and it is where my fondest memories are! I never had a counselor I didn't like. As far as the activities, I can't even begin to tell you how great they are! There was never a second at camp where I wasn't doing something fun. I can still remember how much fun I had there and how many friends I made. This camp really helped me to explore my interests as a child. It gave me the chance to participate in so many different, but all equally wonderful, activities such as gymnastics, instructional swim, basketball, baking, dance, martial arts, nature, theatre, tennis, crafts, and SO much more. The camp is really just top notch- the children even get ice cream at the end of the day. The camp itself is absolutely beautiful, and to this day I still thank my mother for picking such a great camp. This camp taught me so many things and really just gave me such pleasant childhood memories. I honestly can't wait to go back and become a counselor. RID: 2301
