I went her in 2018, expecting 2 weeks of fun. I did not expect this. the property was run down, the counsellors were about 16, and had no training, the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. It was a horrible place. I am now 13 and I will never go back. this place was an absolute hell. the food was practically inedible, and the food ladies obviously did not care about the cleanliness of the food, as well as the dishes and utensils. I always had to go back and get another fork, and most of the time the next ones were dirty too. our counsellor spent the evening with us in the run down cabin making out with another female counsellor. pretty awkward to sit in bed while they did that. there was no windows in the cabin, and the only fresh air coming in was through the duck taped up back door. We constantly had animals pooping in our cabin. It didn't help that the kid underneath me had wet the bed. although I couldn't sleep due to the fumes, the counsellors did nothing.Do not go to this camp. just don't.

camper at kitchi for three years, then staff for one. i have now moved on and worked at a number of other overnight and day camps. though this camp does put a wonderful emphasis on making itself a great environment for campers, the small size of the camp and the fact that many campers go there from age 8 till they become staff, means that it can become extremely clique-y... especially among the staff. the staff politics were much worse than any i ever saw among the campers. however, this is not out of the norm for overnight camps of this type. the senior staff are wonderful, but the camp hires their regular counsellors at age 16. if you have a problem child, or one who has trouble socializing, this may not be the camp to send them to. the staff are often just not old enough to handle campers like that. however, even with those downsides, i still had some amazing summers there, and made wonderful memories. kitchi is a good camp, but be realistic about where you send your kids.

Kitchi is a great camp. I have been twice for the family Spring camp weekend. The summer kids camp program is extremely popular. Cabins are great, bathrooms could use some help but it's a YMCA camp and also been around forever. The staff is fantastic. The kids have a blast.

i love this camp! i go to family camp at the end of the summer so we dont do a lot of one-on-one with the staff, but it's an awesome experience. i love the site, sunset rock, all the beaches, the treasure and wanakita sections.. everything about it. the staff are pretty good, and ive only ever heard good, GREAT things about the kid camps. awesome memories!!

This was my 2nd year and it was awesome, can't wait for next summer. Everyone is so nice and the food is goodish and the activities are #1. Unless you get rain on a canoe trip ha ha. The cabins are really clean and newer but the bathrooms suck but I wasn't expecting a hotel.

I sent my kids for the 1st time last year for a week, they loved it sooo much they are back again this year for 2 weeks. This will definately be a yearly event.
