Not the most cutting edge activities or the most beautiful grounds. However, the staff is so experienced and so focused on the well-being of the kids, there is no place I would rather send my child.

Camp Monroe has a very positive influence on campers and staff. Owners and head staff are the finest people. Ground and facilities are a bit older but meticulously well cared for. Food is very good. Children are properly supervised and are exposed to the highest level of ethics and morals built into the daily life of the camp.

Camp is AMAZING. It is a bit of a jap camp but most of the people are fantastic. I cherish the memories of all my summers there. Also, the staff are the most beautiful people, all so passionate about camp and making their campers happy. The camp is one big family and there is a ton of free time and FOOD. Love it all!

I attended this summer camp in 1973, so I admit I am no expert on current affairs. However, my experience 40 years ago is one I remember as the best summer of my life, with the most positive changes I have ever gone through. The staff was loving and caring. I came out of my shell that summer, never to go back in. I owe them a lifetime of thanks.

Our entire family has been through Camp Monroe, it is a wonderful place. The directors and owners treat everyone as their own. It's close to NY, reasonably priced,just a terrific place. They have strict rules for staff, and some of the negative comments you read are from staff who didn't make the grade

This camp is truly the best experience one can ask for. Any parents out there wondering if this is right for your child, do not pay attention to those comments that the camp is awful, just take a look around yourself. It is a beautiful warm place that I would recommend for anyone. Great staff, nice place, amazing activities, great food and unbelievable experience

Camp Monroe is that rare place where everyone unites to become one big family. The warmth, caring, positivity, and fun are incomparable. At Monroe, you make lifelong friendships, learn numerous exciting skills, and mature immeasurably. Camp is my home and I could never spend a summer anywhere else.

It was so disgustingly horrible that I'm actually speechless right now. The kids are lazy brats who don't want to participate. The food is gross and I actually lost 5 pounds while I was there. All the staff is foreign and they don't care about the campers' wellbeing at all. Please don't send your kids here. BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!!

This is an awesome camp, a standard to which other camps hope to aspire. I went to this camp for years and still find it enchanting and timeless. "Only at Camp Monroe" is a state of mind. If you are a camp-person, look no further. A++++

its a very traditional camp with color war, and bunks, and some not so nice rich suburban kids. i didnt really enjoy myself, found it hard to make friends and was forced to participate in activities i wouldve rather not done. but i do know kids who loved it and went back for 4 more years. depends on what kind of person you are.

awful, I went home early because the group leaders were terrible and the other campers were so incredibly annoying. There is very poor discipline, the campers get away with everything so when they come home they behave badly because tey aren't used to rules.

I went to this camp for one summer and would not go again. I found that the group leaders were nasty to both the campers and staff. They were on a major power trip. The owner was nice, though I am not sure how much longer he will keep the camp up and running. The grounds are average at best. I have seen nicer grounds elsewhere. In all, this was an overall average place, nothing that left a great impression. The counselors were nice enough. Lots of them were from other countries which was cool. It still wasn't a good enough camp for me to go back to though. I would recommend looking at the place but definitely look into other places too. You will definitely be more impressed at others

Camp Monroe is the best camp. The place is beautiful and there are so many great people of all ages. You make friends for life at Happyland. Can't wait for the summer. Only At Monroe.
