Click to report rating    2/15/18   3     2     2     2     4   My son attended the camp last year (2017) and we planned a 2 week stay. Overall it seems like a great way to spend 2 weeks on a lake in the countryside of Oneida county. Unfortunately, an oversea close relative fell gravely ill and had to be rushed to the hospital with news of a dreaded uncertainty about his chance of survival. As he was his beloved grand-father, I immediately called the camp and requested to pick him up 9 days before his schedule end of camp. A few days later, I respectfully requested a refund for the 2nd week which was not attended. To my stunning surprise, I was denied such a refund stating that I booked it, paid for it, lost it!!! I have numerous friends in the free masonry and understand the principal and philosophy of the association, one of the oldest fraternal and charitable organization. I guess they forgot what they root are and now it is all about dollars and cents. RID: 51656
Click to report rating    7/1/10   5     4     5     5     5   My son went here 08, 09, and will be going this summer -- 2010. He absolutely loves it. There are too many activities to list, and the staff is phenomenal. The facilities are "Adirondack" camp-style. They're well maintained, but some equipment (bunks) could use an update. That's the only reason I gave a "4" for facilities. Still, none of the boys seemed to be complaining. The camp is listed here as "co-ed", but it actually runs a separate boys camp for 3 weeks, then girls for 3 weeks. The camp is on something like 1800 acres, has its own lake (big enough for sailing, wake-boarding, etc), and is very safe. I'm trying to think of something to criticize to balance this out, so I asked my son. He says everything is good -- his only suggestion to "improve" would be to lengthen the (optional) morning fishing so they could be out longer. I think it speaks volumes if that's the worst aspect of camp. RID: 33212
