Click to report rating    7/9/14   5     3     1     2     2   I signed my son up for this summer program thinking that he would have a lot of fun, learn something and meet a few new kids, unfortunately I was wrong. Let me mention that he is 11, has been playing trumpet for two years in the school band, no private lessons. Loves to play but doesn't "live" to play his trumpet. He was new this year and did not know anyone. He was not introduced to anyone and at lunch and breaks wound up sitting by himself, until he got the courage to walk up to a group of kids playing cards and ask to join. There wasn't any "fun" ,meaning that there weren't any games or fun activities the kids did during the day. They played their instruments ALL day, and boring music to boot (for11). The staff gave a great performance to kick off camp and had an ending concert where the kids performed, which we were unable to attend, because we thought it was a repeat performance, bc it was advertised as "free", so made other plans. my son didn't get his tshirt bc we didn't go RID: 47559

They do a fantastic job of teaching the students. They are all very friendly and supportive, regardless of a student's ability. My son has loved being in an intensive music experience with 30-40 other kids who also love to play music, and who also work hard at it. This camp really fires him up about his trumpet playing.
