Chingachgook is AWESOME! This is my 4th year going and definitely NOT MY LAST! The staff here are chill, the food is bussin, & the vibes are great! Might it be expensive? Without a doubt. Is it worth it? DEFINITELY! Chingachgook is underrated and people think it is a bad camp, while really, it isn't bad AT ALL! Counselors make you feel welcome, are funny, and supportive! Vespers (Steal other cabins' counselors, campfires, escape rooms, hide and seek, etc) are SO FUN! I recommend session 4 because that session is color wars. Last year, I was blue team, and it was so fun! I remember I willingly sacrificed my beautiful blue towel for hanging it up for the pride of showing people what color we were. In total, there is so much more I could say about Chingachgook, but, I ran out of words for this stupid thing because the limit is only 1000 so, I'll end right here!

I went to chingagook two summers a go.it was a literal HELL. I was almost drowned by a camper, and the hike was torture. NEVER SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE

I love this camp but I think the 3 day hikes should be cancelled.going for 2 sessions next year!

This camp is a mess. The staff, ESPECIALLY the ones who took kids into the wilderness alone for weeks at a time without anyone else for supervision, were sloppy, rude and sleazy. They were simply inappropriate for people given that much trust over children & teens. A quick google search shows that a worker was caught spying on girls in the shower last year. I can only wonder how much of that stuff happens all the time at Camp Chingachgook without getting caught! Personally, I decided there's no way I would ever trust this place with my children and scrapped it after I learned how low their standards were. Just being in a good location on the water isn't nearly enough.

Anyone that doesnt like this camp didnt come here on their own choice. kids that come here that want to have fun and have the best summer of their lives go here. It is AMAZING. Let it be known that not every councler is going to be amazing but if you take camp for what it is everything good overrides the small bad things.I have been going to camp for 6 weeks each summer for five years! Camp is amazing. It is super amazing because you can do ANYTHING here! This is the best camp out there.

I didn't like this camp. It was ok at the time, but looking back on it, I don't really like it. They forced you to go on a THREE DAY hike and my trip leader happened to be really mean so it wasn't fun. They forced us to eat an entire vat of mexacali rice so animals wouldn't come to the site. I almost vommited. Also, it started to thunder in the night and our counselors were in a different tent so we all just sat there nearly in tears. The next morning my brand new hiking boots were full of water. I cried while we hiked buck mountain and my counselor didn't care. I DID not like the counselors. I don't know if I just had a bad expeperience or if it was actually terrible, but now the memories are not memorable and it wasn't fun. (On the plus side, SOME ofthe counselors were nice and the facilities were nice....)

Great Camp! The camper to counselor ratios were fantastic for my daughter (8yo). Would absolutely recommend this Camp.

Very good Camp. Parent communication is great, the staff have all been there a while. My son is a bed wetter and he said the rest of the cabin never even knew!

I’ve been spending my summers at camp since 2000 (Age 12). Every summer I return to work (Camp), looking forward to meeting the next generation of enthusiastic staff members, and excited campers. I'm sure all of my fellow staff members will agree that to explain what camp means to us is difficult. There are so many things we can say, but no sentence could ever do our feelings any justice. It’s like explaining true love, or how passionately you care about your children. It’s an almost impossible task; camp is something you surely need to experience for yourself. Camp is true love.

My son just went on a field trip here and he did have a Great time. I do however think the $220 for 1 night, and all of the chaperones had to pay to go too, was outrageous. I just cant see how they can charge 700 kids $220 for 1 night. I have to believe there is some shady dealings going on to use up all of this money. I hope that's not the case, but I will wonder. But again my son had a great time, ....and it cost me $220

this is my second home. ive been going for 4 years now and every year camp chingachgook just gets better!! any one who doesnt absolutely LOVE camp chingachgook is crazy. just because the little brats who would rather have a butler and a pool dont like this camp , doesnt mean you wont like it. dont listen to those ratings. camp chingachgook is the best spot on the entire planet!!! i rated this camp so highly because the facilities are better than excelent, clean cabins, spotless bathrooms(sorta) and a great messhall. the staff is WONDERFUL. the activities are exhilirating and fun, the personal attn is tremendous, every one gets looked after. and the moneary value is amazing. the memories you will gain are 100 percent totally worth the cash.

I love this camp its like my second home during the summer!the food is amazing, you make so many friends, its good exersize, and the activities are so much fun. when camp ends i alwayys cry my eyes out because i am going to miss it so much. i suggest this camp to all ages of children

wow.ok so i went to this camp for 2 weeks last year and it was probably the worst experience of my life.my parents MADE me go and i wasnt able to go to my favorite camp in the entire world YAG!!!! it made me not be able to spend 2 weeks with my friends, and all the 2 friends i made were really stupid and i actually didnt like them at all.It was a waste of time and money and i almost cried my first night there because it was so horrible. Nobody i know WANTS to do structured activities outdoors for 2 straight weeks. I would have much rather been chilling by the pool with my bikini and my aviators on with a glass of lemonade, or swimming without so much structure. I say. dont waste your time or money going to chingachgook. Oh yeah and the staff is a bunch of horrible mean betches!

I love camp chingacook soooo much! I've been to alot of different camps in NY but this is defenitly the best one ever. The Counselers are amazing and the CIT's are great fun. You get to swim, go on the hiking trips (if your on a 2 week session which i would totally reccomend). Each Session has a theme, and activities every night (sometimes to do with the theme) it's expensive but defenitly worth the price. It's like a home away from home :)

The staff are cool and they actually listen to you. They care about what you say. Most facilities are wonderful while others could be a little better, but however the camp is changing some of it's facilities. The activities are great and they're well planned also. Almost none of the kids are jerks, and if they are they usually leave losing their personality of being jerky. I am so glad I sent my kid here. (I assume the following things are true, my son told me them and my son rarely lies).

I've been to alot of camps. Camp Chingachgook is the best! People complain about the cabins, but whats there to complain about!? They're fun and you dont spend tooo much fun in them anyways. Its great because Chingachgook is RIGHT on the water, Lake George to be exact. Their sailing program is excellent and you gotta love the unit rivalrys. Senior boys got it best, right on the lake sonnn. To bad that might change =S. SEND YOUR KID TO CHINGACHGOOK!!

I love camp chichacook and wish they had sessions that went all summer, the only downfall is that it's expensive, but you totally get you money's worth because it is the most amazing place in the whole world!

The staff are amazing, ok the cabins could be a LITTLE better but you can live, activities are great, you get plenty on attention, and its SO WORTH IT. best time of your life guranteed.
