If you are a person okay with a homophobic and xenophobic family run camp then this is certainly the place for you. I have over 25 staff that can attest to my allegations and it has taken me many years to decide to say this...I am a woman & married my wife while working there and my cousin who worked at the same time had a pregnant and unmarried gf and when it was 4th of July i was told I had to be away from the other campers in a separate lot with my lawful wife because they didn't want to give the wrong idea. My cousins were told they could join in all o the festivities with all. The wife of the owner Diana took a personal issue with me because her family is an exiled traitor/non terroritst family from Cuba and when she met me in her home and knew I was a Cuban who believed in and lived in the Cuba of today it did not go over well.She became resentful.I can prove this of course. af.picayo@gmail.com

This is my home. I have been going for 4 years, almost my fifth and I don't have one bad thing to say about it. it isn't to bog so everyone knows everyone. the owners know all of the campers by name and everyone no matter the age or culture is welcomes and best friends. I have made a whole group of sisters and I'm now even making brothers. I LOVE CAMP SCATICO

Camp Scatico is the best place in the entire world. Knowing that i have a place to call home for two months really helps me get through the school year. My camp friends are like sisters and my councelors are like my second moms. If you are looking for a place for your child to feel accepted and have fun, This camp will exceed your expectations. The previous reviews were not from campers who have experience a true summer at camp Scatico. I love camp more than anything and am happy to have a second home.

where do i even begin? theres aren't enough words in this world that can possibly explain how i feel about this place. Let me start off by saying that this is the best place in the ENTIRE world. Beneath this beautiful camp there is a family. I don't think I have met anyone at scatico that doesn't love it more than anything in the world. I believe that everyone needs a place to get away from this crazy world were in and this is the perfect hideaway. Never once have I had to think about about being judged or made fun of. The only things that do cross my mind are about how lucky I am to be here. The people I have met are here are honestly the most amazing people in the world. I would not be half the person I am today without them. Scatico has been a place where I have grown up and discovered what being happy really feels like. Go to a camp with pools and tvs, travel around the world and go to beautiful islands and resorts, go anywhere you want but you'll never find a place like scatico.

Last summer was my 8th consecutive summer at Scatico. I can honestly say that it is what I look forward to most out of the whole year. My mom and uncle went to Scatico, and I will one day send my kids here. The kids are great, not jappy, and the staff is awesome. Also, the owner David is amazing. i went to scatico for an intercamp and it was horrible everything was spread out, the people never interacted, the campers and counselors were mean and the food was horrible i hated it we ran to the bus so we get out of their quick enough....... try schodack!

what to say first..... Scatico is my second home and will always be. I have been going there for nine years and plenty more summers to come with outstanding memories. I don't have any sisters but i have 11 actually they are my darling soopers of 09.It helps you make wonderfull friendships. Sure you might have some problems but being with the same people for 7 weeks makes you truly know someone for who they are. The staff is wonderful they help you with so much stuff and it doesn't have to be about camp. The activities don't sound fun but just being with the people you are closest too i guarantee you will make it fun. BY far Scatico has made me who i am today with the lasting friendships. I look forward to it every year when i am down. It just gets me happy again. At home when someone brings up a story i think of a similar story but it happened at camp with my sisters. I love Camp Scatico and by far it is the best place on earth. S2K9 ONE LOVE.

Where do I begin - Camp Scatico is by far the most amazing place in the entire world. It is my second home but it is the one thing I look forward to every year. This year it will be my 6th summer, the most amazing summer of my life. Camp Scatico is the place where I made my best friends in the entire world and the friends I know I will have my entire life. There is nothing wrong with Scatico, everything is perfect just the way it is. This really is my favorite place in the entire world and I couldnt imagine my life without it. I LOVE SOOPERS OF 2009.

Camp Scatico is my second home. This will be my sixth summer there and the friendships and memories I've made there will last forever. Scatico is an amazing place and i love it so much. The girls in my division are not only my best friends but my family. We're always there for each other through everything. The traditions and activities are so much fun and you'll never be bored. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and if you go here you will have the best summers of your life. Camp Scatico is the most amazing place on earth. I have made some friends that will last forever and ever. You can listen to people who just say its a very nice place, but its much more than that; it's been built up into a home and a family. I love this camp probably more than anything in the world and would do anything for it. Our alma mater is true, I know for me, at least, that over the winter years i think or nothing other than this place and wish i was there. " At summers end, our hearts will still remain". That is completely true. Camp Scatico always will be my second home.

camp scatico is the most amazing camp there is. it' where i met my best friends in the entire world and theres nothing like the memories you make there. scatico has so many unique traditions that just make it so amazing. everyone is welcomed no matter if its your first year or your 10th. i cannot wait to be a sooper this summer. although it is my last year as a camper, it definitely will not be my last summer at my second home.

Now adays most camps have lots of modern stuff that really ruins the sence of being at an actual camp. Camp Scatico however is tthe BEST camp in the world. Scatico is traditional, warm, and welcoming. Anyone who disagrees probley didn't try hard enough to get into the sense of a camp. Scatico is heaven on earth, it is the best thing ever! I have made so many friends that are my best. We are all a family connected by this summer home. Camp Scatico remains a camp that does not have bratty people within the gorgeous campus. People at scatico work hard to get what they want. The whole camp is united over a common goal, which is to HAVE FUN. Im in love with this camp!

I went to camp Scatico for 8 years and with no exaggeration it made me into the well rounded person that I am today. To the kids who claimed they were made fun of and that the staff was uncaring, guess what, I was that kid that got made fun of too. If you cant learn to deal with other people and what they think of you then you wont make it though life let alone camp; thats what Scatico did for me. Along with bringing me together with the guys that to this day (13 years later) I still concider to be my brothers, it also taught me to grow up and how to deal with people in the real world. To the parents who claim the facilities are out dated, did you ever think its like that for a reason? Pools are unnecessary, and the lack of e-mail is an atempt to make children realize they shouldnt be dependent on technology and to bond with their bunkmates. Overall, I belive that Scatico is the last camp that still has some real values to teach their campers. - JK US2K

Scatico for me has always been my home away from home. The beautiful campus and the amazing staff is why I came back year after year. It's the friendships I've made over the years that I value the most. My camp friends have become my best friends and we keep in touch throughout the year.

Nothing more to say then it is my home away from home and always will be. Every once in a while theres a person everybody dislikes but rarely. Whoever says bad about scatico is quite brainless. Color war breaks your heart in four days at. Full camp capture the flag on boys side is awsemome. Need i say ore i hope not SCATICO ROCKS (Except DJ Jeff)

I LOVE CAMP SCATICO!!! Whoever doesn't like this camp needs help because i have never been somewhere with so many amazing people. MY first day there i made a zillion friends. The counselors are all really nice. Everyday is so fun especially tribes and color war days!! But my favorite day by far is DJ JEFF!!! Scatico is the best camp ever and i it will always be in my heart! i can never forget my great times there! I LOVE CAMP SCATICO!

I went to this camp for 4 years. This is the worst summer i had because my councelor always yelled at me and had favorites. At tribes kids a couple of years older than me made me sit in the hot sun to memorize songs. i cried a lot. i hated my summer. Don't send your kids here to have a good summer.

i went to scatico 2 years ago. i hade diabetes and wasn't white. my bunkmate use to call me names every night. the nurses always had a difficult time administering my insulin. i cried and cried some days and all my counselors would do i say "suck it up." the people that come here are some of the most self-centered, ignorant, and obnoxious people i have ever encountered. the summer i spent at scatico was a waste. i have not reccomended this camp to any of my friend looking to become counselors. what a horrible place.

This camp is the BEST!!! Everyone at Scatico is nice, and you are treated like family. I just came home from my third summer at Scatico and I plan on going back for many more years. The activities are great, like swimming, soccer, drama, and ceramics. Special activities include Tribes, Color War, Sing, Birthday Ball, and Carnival. After spending a summer at Scatico you won't want to go home.

I am a [former] camper, just coming back from her Sooper summer, and I can honestly say that this camp is where I grew up. I have never made friends so incredible or learned so much about myself as a person than I have at Camp Scatico. This is a place for tradition, recreation, and above all, love. Nothing can describe a summer at Scatico unless one has experienced it. "At summer's end, our hearts will still remain..."

This past summer was my 9th summer, i attended from 6 years old to 14 years old and it has been the best times of my life. The friendships i have made are un-forgettable. Scatico is my home and will always be, i grew up, matured,and learned life lessons there. If you want to give your children or loved ones the best gift that could ever be given send them to scatico. It has changed my life forever, these few words cant possibly portray the amount that i appreciate what this small camp has done for me.

i <3333333333 it! totally not a jap camp. parents definatly get their money's worth. make great friends. have toooooooooons of fun. VERY few girls who are mean. one to be exact but she left. everyone loves it. great activities like sports,swimming,arts & crafts, ceramics, pioneering, color war, and horseback riding. (but horseback riding is extra but great) this camp is for non-jappy people who love camp and being outdoors. i would give this camp a 10000000000000000% awsome! if you do not like it you are crazy or are not liked by the campers in your bunk. trips include a hike, one to the beach or a cruise,(depending on age), and a big trip. you also have a camp out. tribes and color war are always a blast. kids will LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it with a capital L-O-V-E!!!! there is nothing to dislike. the food is great. the people are nice. i HIGHLY recommend it. it should be on your list not matter what. the boys camp is just as good as the girls camp.<333333

If you are a prospective international staff member researching your new camp then i can promise you that you will have a great time at Scatico. If you are a parent then you have found a great camp to send your child away for the summer to. Scatico is like a second home for me and i can not recommend it more as a place to grow and nurture kids in a safe environment. It is not a pressure cooker camp orientated around Athletics but if that's what you want you will find it here. There really is something for everyone at Scatico.
