7/20/19   2     4     4     2     4   All schools and camps will have bullies and mean kids at times. It is how the school or camp handles it that is important. When they had incidents of kids being mean and cruel, pulling pranks on another child, they did not, and do not, handle it strongly enough and consistently so that the bully understands clearly there will be consequences-for example, as a result, he can't participate in activities for a period, etc. All they do is lightly say stop-no matter how egregious the psychological cruelty, mean words, pranks, coming from the same boys perpetrating it, and it just continues, because there is not a consistent, serious way of handling it showing consequences that the bullies feel. The bullies are allowed to ruin the camp experience for another child. The camp's excuse is, that is just how boys are. This is unacceptable. Leadership and staff needs training on this. Do not send your child here. RID: 52750

12/27/18   5     5     5     5     5   My boys have gone to La Junta for 11 years and can't wait to go back every summer. They've made incredible memories and friends for life, while learning how to become independent young men, and positive role models for others. Can't recommend enough! RID: 52396

12/9/18   5     4     5     5     5   Can't say enough great things about CLJ! Best decision we ever made for our boys, and their favorite place on Earth! Great for their self esteem, fosters independence, encourages boys to step out of their comfort zones, and supports them every step of the way! RID: 52372

12/7/18   5     5     5     5     5   Camp La Junta is a wonderful camp for boys! My husband and his brother attended as children. My son has attended for the past 5 years and will continue to go as long as he can! He lives for summer so he can go back to camp! I would recommend Camp La Junta ten times over! My son has gained so much in the areas of responsibility and independence. I wish I would not have hesitated and let him go at a younger age! Don’t be that mom! Send your son! It is the best gift you can give him! Life is good, Camp is Better. RID: 52370

Click to report rating    12/4/18   5     5     5     5     5   Camp LaJunta is great! My boys love it and can't wait to go back every year. They get to do so many things they would never get to do otherwise. And have made friends for life! RID: 52362
Click to report rating    12/4/18   5     5     5     5     5   Camp La Junta has been an amazing experience for my son. The boys enjoy getting to be boys on the Guadalupe River in Texas in a fun and healthy environment. Tons of activities and games for the kids to choose from. The counselors and staff are all extremely professional (and extremely fun). I am so very thankful to be able to send my son to such an exceptional camp. RID: 52354

Click to report rating    4/27/14   5     5     5     5     5   The first time I went to camp here I thought i'm going to come back every summer. Its a good camp because it introduces some new things to kids that don't experience these activities. RID: 47244
Click to report rating    4/1/13   5     5     5     5     5   I have 2 boys that ave attended Camp La Junta for the past three years, and we could not be happier with their experinces. These days there are so few opportunities for buys to be boys and La Junta provides the perfect environment for boy time. Our children come home with tons of stories of all fheir fun adventures, new friends and great staff. La Junta is not only fun, but is shaping our boys into young men with a renewed self confidence, can do attitude and selfreliance. RID: 44154

Click to report rating    1/2/10   5     5     5     5     5   My son has attended Camp La Junta for 3 years now. His grand father attended for 8 years and we can only say wonderful thing about Camp La Junta. This is a great traditional Christian camp that meets the needs of boys. The food is great and he loves the activities and competitions. RID: 31811
Click to report rating    10/2/08   5     4     5     5     5   They do so well with my son, with tons of activities, just the right amount of competition, and lots of crazy boy-friendly fun! They even accommodate his vegetarian diet! He is kind of a non-conformist and not especially gregarious, but he loves the place, even though we are not from Texas, and he didn't know any other campers the first time he went there. When he comes home from camp, he always seems more mature and has a great attitude. RID: 26848
