Camp Green Acres is all about exploitation. The owners exploit the staff by paying them an equivalent of just under $2/hour salary (this should not be legal, but apparently private camps are exempted from minimum wage legislation). Many of the young counsellors that work there are trying their best, but with the owners/management focus strictly on profits, they are left on their own. The exploitation continues with the farm animals that are often not fed, do not receive veterinary care even when sick and injured. Horses are apparently taken from a slaughter house feed lot for the summer, most have not been trained to work with beginner riders and are sent back to the feed lot/slaughterhouse after the summer ends. Parents are exploited by being charged exorbitant prices for camp that is at best mediocre. I would never send either one of my kids to this camp again. There are better options out there.

I have had 2 children who have gone to GA for over 5 years and it is a home away from home! They can't wait to find out their unit heads, camp dance and their spirit rally mascots! Furthermore, I have worked at the camp for 6 years, and still get to experience camp as an adult! I've worked at several camps, and none come even close to my experience at GA!

Camp Green Acres is an amazing camp!! Each week there are new activities for the children to participate in. They have 3 large pools and the grounds are amazing. The staff and directors are always there when you need them. I would definitely recommend sending your children and or child here. They will have the summer of their life and look forward to going back year after year. Cant wait for all the memories for CGA2017!!!

Truly a horrible camp. I would NEVER in a million years send my child back to that camp. It's such a shame because the original founder Eddy is such a sweet and kind gentleman. Unfortunately, the rest of the camp is garbage. They are overpriced and only want your money. The activities are cheap and they are way too strict on the campers. My child had a horrible experience there. Especially when it came to taking care of their special needs. Tammy Zaldin is by far the the WORST most unprofessional caregiver there is for special needs children. The fact that she is at this camp disgusts my husband and I. She is unqualified and should NOT WORK with special needs children... OR ANY CHILDREN.

From experience being a counsellor at camp Green Acres i recommend you DO NOT send your kids to Green Acres. The camp only cares about parents because they are the ones paying. Each day you are told to dump out the kids water bottles before they get on the bus home and fill them up half way so it looks like your child drank. This is a must. Staff are MISERABLE at the camp because they are having a bad experience and getting payed nothing for it. Working at camp Green Acres was a huge mistake. They do not care about your kids and only care about the money you will be paying them. The conditions are horrible. This year was one of the hottest summers and every day your kids are going to be sitting in the scorching heat with no air conditioning or shade. So consider these facts before you decide to send your kid to a camp that doesn't care at all for them.

I had an ugly incident with two counsellors from Camp Green Acres (I found out they were counsellors at Camp Green Acres near the end of the incident). One morning I witnessed one of the counsellors leaving a yoghurt container and spoon on a green electric box. When I called out to this counsellor to ask him why he did that, his response was "There's no garbage cans around here." He walked away but didn't have any words for me. However, after he walked off I saw the yoghurt container and spoon placed on another object near where he was standing. When I walked over to confront him about it, the other counsellor standing beside him was very, very disrespectful to me, yelling things like "Who are you!!!", "Get out of here!!!". It seemed he was ready to get violent. After the Camp Green Acres bus picked them up, I took a picture of this counsellor. As the bus drove off, he yelled out the window "I'm gonna find you and I'm gonna get you!!!". I have taken this threat to the police.

My daughter attended My camp in summer 2012. It is an all- elective camp but they don't offer all the activities listed on their web-site at once. My daughter told me that she never got to do her favorite activities because they never had them the 3 weeks she was there. It seemed that the bad activities such as gaga kept repeating but the good ones rarley appeared. We took a bus from a local school and the bus captain and bus staff were not responsible at all. They left before they were supposed too and without my daughter. We called the camp and they sent over a private bus to pick her up. When she got to camp she was greeted by a camp director who walked her over to My camp. My daughter being friendly made friends with many girls but one seemed to be jelous and turned them away from her but in a snap of a finger she had new friends. The prices are so high, $1000 for two weeks. Save your money and find a better camp because this one isn't worth your money.

My daughter went to camp in 2012 for 6 weeks. She didn't get any pictures taken, But I see so many other children get Pictured taken multiple times, my daughter was upset,, it is big deal for her that see her and her friends on the website, she told me because their parents complained, so I called the office, still by the end of her six weeks stay, no pictures ever showed. Her swimming instructor didn't promote her to the next level even though she passed the level at swimming school, I called the instructor, then she did, a week later she was in the next level, she was promoted again, it made me questioning how experience of those swimming instructors. Overall, my daughter didn't like it there, she loved its sister camp wahonowin, I will sign her up over there instead.

My son loves Green Acres, he begs to go back every summer. He has gone now for 4 years and one day hopes to be a counsellor. The only thing he said they could improve is the change rooms and washrooms. Make them cleaner ect. Otherwise has always had a great fun summer there.

I have gone to Camp Green Acres for the past 3 summers. It is definitely the place to be. I am in Grads and It ROCKS!The Counsellors are awesome. Uri is a Counsellor you have to be friends with. At this camp counsellors aren't just there to get paid. They become your friends. You swim twice a day. Once is recreational, and the second time is instructional. The attendance at instructional swim sucks cus I was able to skip every instructional swim class and go to the park and play with other friends who didn't wanna swim. the activities are lots of fun, except there isn't any lakes just pools. The food there is AWESOME. The only problem is that there were wasps but if your like me and you don't attract bugs then your fine. Also At lunch never leave your food unattended even for a minute to go to the trash to throw something out or else wasps will get into it. Swimming is fun and Everyone is really nice to you. I'm definitly coming to Green acres next year

i went to this camp quite a while ago, and i remember it as my favourite camp to go to. The staff was very kind and the facilities were pretty good. i had lots of fun.

I had a great expierience at this camp except for the facilities the girls chaneroom was meant for 10 or fifteen at most!but somehowm thirty-five girls got changed in there at once!otherwise they activities were great and the camp was amazing i forsure recomend it!

This is my first year working at this camp, and I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience! As a counsellor I see that the kids have a ton of fun and seem to enjoy the mass amounts of activities that GA has to offer. The staff is very welcoming and working here has been a blast. Of the staff I have met here I can see that they are not in this for the money, mostly to gain experience of working with children and to make this a fun experience especially for the kids and hopefully for themselves. Some have dreams of becoming teachers, psycologists, pediatricians, and other jobs involving working with children. Through my eyes they are a hard working, spirited group of people who continue to work after camp planning activities, unit days, overnights, etc to make sure the kids have a fun filled day. I love working with kids and hope that in the future to get the chance to work at Sick Kids in Toronto. I highly recommend that parents send their kids to Camp GA! :)

Honsetly, the counsellors and LTPs at this camp are generally horrible. They're all brats that are only there to socialize with one another. You go to activities and the people who are "running" it just put some stuff down in front of you and expect you to know what to do. I would never go back here.

Ugh, the conselors are proper HORRID. They are loud and obnoxious and enjoyed taunting me and calling me 'emo' and 'f*ggot'. It was dirty everywhere and a mate and I got stung by wasps that were hovering around a juice container. It also costs a BEASTLY amount for basically nothing.

i worked here this summer and it was pretty awesome although i was really really underpaid. but i still paid attention to my kids, i don't really care what anyone else says.

1. this camp is designed for the child in a group and there is no attention given to the individual
2. the bus leaders didn't even greet my daughter on the first day
3. for the price I paid – my daughter only got a water bottle – no picture, no t-shirt
4. after 2 weeks of arts and craft projects all she came home with was a colored in picture!
5. she lost her riding helmet and NO ONE HELPED HER FIND IT until I called AND sent letters
6. I emailed the camp a few times asking questions and I was ignored
7. the parents day was scheduled on a day and a time when I couldn’t go – they wouldn’t change the time and so my daughter was the only child that didn't have her parents there
8. WHEN I did go to the camp in the afternoon - they said that they were not riding as the horses were being washed after the show - they were supposed to ride TWICE A DAY
9. On one occasion they didn't do arts and craft because they all had to look for Buttons the cat!

Green Acres is not the place to be. The staff are so mean. They don't care about you. Once they made me go naced infront of the whole camp just because I peaked into an empty change room dont go there it is torcher. Go To camp Wahanowin witch closely associates with Green Acres But Wahanowin is much better.

I really didn't enjoy it, the kids are rude, the consolers aren't very nice, and the washrooms are disgusting. What was good was the WATER SLIDES. they were sick, but the consolers who say u can't do much on them suck. I hate there lunch meals there very nasty.

I give this camp and even rating because of Eddy... i think leon and his o so beautiful daughter just made it worse by adding all the unit head moms....kids want to go n have fun not c their moms everywhere...plus then they spy and just cause way 2 much problems....man this was a good camp... in 1992!

I love this camp! I went for three years, and I wish I could still go! This is the best camp ever, the counselors are very nice and attentive, and the camp spirit is amazing!

I can see how many people may not like it but once you jump into the camp experience its a blast...I loved everything about this camp and going with my best friend made it even better...my counsellers were great and paid extra attention to me and my friend.All I can say is that I'm deffintely doinf the LTP program next year... Even is you dont like sports or arts and crafts , thier is such a mix of both u will never be bored....BEST CAMP EVER!!!!

Camp Green Acres is an amazing camp for very young chilren to older children (15). They are on 110 acres of land and it is absolutly amazing.
