We were in Camp 9 (cherokee) and we liked the camp. It was a little hard to find the camp site but once we got there we guided everyone else in. We had two bathrooms (1 latrine, 1 full bathroom with flushing toliet and outdoor showers) near us and they were clean and both had hand stations. Council ring was beautiful. Activites were very limited. Most things were spread out so it was a hike to go anywhere but our scouts enjoyed the camp. Would not recommed during the summer months in Texas but for the October timeframe pretty good. Dining hall was new, clean. Food same as always at camp. We brought our own tents so can't comment on their stuff. We had plenty of space for our campers (42) and their cars. If you are staying here try to stay in the "main" camp area (9 or 10) since they are close to the dining hall, archery, BB. Rock wall was a long, long hike. Be prepared to do some activites with your scouts beyond what the camp will provide. Our parents liked this camp too

This place is terrible. The roads are appalling and the signage is terrible. I've read from other reviewers that the staff is good, but we barely saw them, so I can't give an opinion. The camp sites are tiny. The tents are literally right on top of each other. It stormed while we were there and we never saw the staff come around to offer alternative activities or just to check in and make sure that the scouts were safe. There are practically no facilities. The bathrooms are more like outhouses, very spread out and no directions or signs to find them. No power, water, etc... at the camp sites. The food is gross, take your own if you go there. Staff wasn't around to offer directions or information as we drove around lost with the other families looking for our camp site. It's dirt cheap and this is one of those times when you get what you pay for. We will never go back.

we attended a haunted hayride there. the roads were totally out of control - rocky, washed out, flat out dangerous. the mapping and directional signs were non existent, leading to us being lost for 45 minutes, driving around on horrible roads fearing i would damage our family car. i could have driven my truck had i known the problems. THEN they had to drive thru and ask people to move their cars more than a mile from where our campsite was. we had single mom's with kids at home who might have needed to leave on a moment notice to get back home and we were unable to get to our cars in a proper time. then, when dark descended, we had to walk over horrible rocky muddy roads more than a mile to get to loading area. they could have had some shuttles or something to aid in transportation.

I had an awesome time and earned tons of merit badges. The facilities were kind of bad but I liked the staff.

This camp is horrible. As soon as I find where to make a formal complaint I will. The urinals in the boys bathroom are not attached to plumbing and the drain onto the floor. Our scout leader slept outside for 2 night because they would not bring the tent we had already paid for. The staff is unbelievably rude. My child did not get to shower for 5 days because they never had working showers when his time to shower came around. This was the biggest wate of time and money ever. We drove 6 hours to this camp and were very disappointed to say the least.

This camp has amazing staff and it definitely makes up for what little the facilities are lacking.
