This is my daughters second year at Crestwood and we couldn’t be happier! She also went to camp at Crestwood last summer. The teachers and counselors are so loving and warm. She talks about school all weekend and can’t wait to get on the bus Monday morning. She has learned so much and made amazing friendships. We love Crestwood!

There isn’t a single bad thing I can say about Crestwood, my kids have been begging to go there for years, and now that we are finally able to send them, they enjoy each summer more than the last. The activities are amazing, their special events the best. My kids, 5 & 7 wake up early each camp day get themselves ready and cannot wait to get to camp!!! They wait for it all year and it is definitely worth the wait!!! The staff is wonderful so attentive, one of my favorite things is that on a rainy day the kids don’t just sit around and do nothing all day, they take them out to an indoor facility for the day such as gymnastics, sports, bowling, movies etc. there is always something new and improved at Crestwood they never take for granted what they have and always improve year after year. It’s a large camp but runs very smoothly and you won’t find all the activities they offer anywhere else! Definitely give Crestwood a try...take a tour or go to the open house you won’t regret it!!!

Crestwood hires the best people. For such a big camp it runs very smoothly. The last of my 3 kids is there and he had another great summer. They are so accommodating for all needs. They do great job keeping little ones in seperate area in nursery and pre K then when older they are st perfect age to move onto bigger stuff. You never have to switch camps when little to older kid camp it has it all. The lunches delicious there is no skimping. Love crestwood!!

What an amazing experience both my kids had last summer! I guess its time to decide where they're going this summer because they won't stop talking about Crestwood! Makes our decision so much easier. Looking forward to seeing you again!

camp crestwood was a good camp for many reasons it also had its downsides to it i do agree that there are way to many activites and to much waiting and you rarely go on any of the good activites and there is the reoccuring problem of kids sitting out because they do not wannna play sports or do not socialize well and that has not changed but the administration is great but the counselors are for the most part descent but nothing to terrible or out of the ordinary and you rarely get a great counselor but as for the kids the kids are not snobby at all great kids and for the most part good athletes but there are always those weirdo kids who wanna sit out and play video games those kids were probably forced to go to camp or just not very social but other then this my 3 year exprience at camp crestwood was great actually the best camp expirence i have ever had i had a terrible expirence at sleepaway i wasnt bullied i was annnoyed with the JAP AND SNOBBY KIDS this was nock a mixon dont go!!!

Crestwood is an excellent place for children. Camper safety is a paramount concern at all times. The staff is extrememly accommodating, friendly, and willing to do whatever it takes to give your child the best possible summer.

My two children went to Crestwood last summer for the first time. They both had their best summers yet. Each time I visited them at camp, I got such a warm feeling from the staff and the camp grounds and facilities are definitely topnotch. The staff at Crestwood is wonderful, they always kept the lines of communication open and informed me on how my children were doing several times throughout the summer as well as helped my children learn how to make new friends and other important life skills. I always knew that I was leaving my children in good hands because Crestwood takes safety and supervision very seriously. My children came home each day with huge smiles on their faces and that makes me happy to know that I chose to send them to Crestwood. I would highly recommend this camp to any parents who are looking for a day camp for their children!

Crestwood is THE camp! My parents sent me there since I was 1 1/2 and I attended until I was too old to be a camper. I have been working there ever since. I can't get enough of it Crestwood. All of the staff are compassionate, hard-working and will do whatever it takes to make each child's summer memorable. My favorite memories from childhood are those from Crestwood. When I have children, I would not even consider another camp!

Crestwood is an amazing Camp!!! This is the place that I met my best friends that I still am in contact with today. Its facilities are spot on and the activities keep getting better each year. After attending this camp my whole life I dont think I could ever send my children anywhere else!!! The swim program is fantastic and the Teen program just keeps getting better every year. If you want your teen to have the best summer ever Crestwoods Teen Travel program is creme de la creme. The staff is very knowledgeable and keeps planing new and exciting activities each summer.

Thank god for Crestwood. I thought all the camps were the same and sent my son to three different camps until I finally listened to my friends and sent him and my youngest daughter to Crestwood. I saw the difference, the day I enrolled. I was overwhelmed by friendly staff in the office. They called us over the winter to talk about camp. My kids came home the fiirst day and asked if they could go to Crestwood every summer. Thank you Crestwood.

My son went here for 3 years and then last year was his last year when he was going into 4th grade. The problem was that many of the kids in his group refused to do sports and would sit on the side playing their Nintendo Ds. They also were allowed to bring them to lunch and play with them instead of socializing with the other kids. In addition, there was NO sports instruction for most of the sports so you pay all that money but your child is not taught anything that will help him improve his sports skills.

First rate facilities equal to the expensive camps on the north shore of Nassau County for less money. Staff is not trained or willing to deal with discipline problems among the children. This includes counselors and administration. Parents complaints are not satisfactorily dealt with. They are ususally brushed aside as "silly and unimportant and without merit" even when it involves dangerous situations. After 6 years athis camp my daughter will be going to a camp that knows how to and wants to to deal with "bullies" and listens and deals with parents complaints.

My oldest son just completed his 3rd summer here and my youngest completed his 1st. Each summer both my boys has a better time than the prior, if that is possible! You can not beat the swimming instruction as well as the extra care the swim staff takes with each individual. Which not to mentio,n each child is treated like an individual through out the entire camp. We have also gotten such great personal attention even from when I was at the camp for our first year in the mommy and me program. My kids would never think if going any other camp, neither would their parents.

My daughter has started her 3rd year here. I think this camp could be great, but is run too much like a business. There is not alot of warmth and NO flexibility from the administration. The counselors are TOTALLY hit or miss if they are good/caring or not. Our experience has been mediocre at best. My son goes to another camp in the area and so I have a basis of comparison. The activities, while there is a wait for the "special" ones, get "old" after awhile. the grounds are beautiful, but enormous for younger kids, I think they spend a whole lot of time schlepping from one activity to another. For the money, I'm making the break to sleepaway next year in hopes of a better experience, instead of a tolerable one.

I went to Crestwood for 8 years and it progressively got worse. The younger kids get a lot of personal attention and the best counselors in the entire camp. As you get older you get some 20-year olds who don't care about the kids as much as they do getting a new boyfriend or girlfriend. The place is way too overcrowded, and you never actually get to do anything accept for waiting. This camp is good if you are 3, but if you are any older it changes completely.

My kids went for years. As the years went by, more & more activites were added. They had so many that they kids went to each of the really good ones (bungie, zip, tower, sleds etc..) only 1, maybe 2 times. They sell on these special activities that they hardly go to. When they do go, they are lucky if they get on. They can spend a whole period just waiting. $6,000 plus for that! Yes, the groups are way too large. The swim prgram which they promote as the best on Long Island is horrible. The pools are so crowded. Each swim group is packed. A kid can't learn anything in a group that size. They pass kids to the next group when the parents complain or when they haven't moved in long time, not at all on swim ability. The American Red Cross needs to stop this. These kids can't do half of what is required by the Red Cross in that particular swim group. The whole program is awful. They don't do any teaching in sports as they claim. Real hours 9:30-3:30, not 9-4 like other camps in the area.

I went to Crestwood for 7 years (since Parent/Child); I thought it was a great camp but I think that if the staff were better it would be a much better place. I didn't like the rushing to activities because if I took a water or bathroom break I would be very late.

As a long time former camper, staff member, and parent of campers at one of the nations premier camps, I find it offensive and desperate that another camp owner intentionally pads his ratings by posting phony, negative ratings about other camps and making up and posting positive, phony ratings about himself. Fortunately, word of mouth for camps like Crestwood that have served the community well for over 50 years will continue to be the best way of selecting a camp and keep the deserving camps, like Crestwood, successful!!

Having sent my 2 children to Crestwood for over 10 years, and they subsequently working there, I can't imagagine a better run camp in the US. The Directors often are more concerned about the children than the parents and the programs and facilities are improve every year. I can't think of an activity that they don't have. The swim program is unbelievable! Both of my daughters learned how to swim at Crestwood and went on to be champion swimmers in High School. Crestwood built up their confidence, competence and self-esteem. Their best friends were Crestwood campers. When you think of what you want in a camp, you think of Crestwood - safe, caring, individualized attention, magnificent facilities and the most mature staff! Anyone who would say otherwise would not be credible, and would have their own agenda.Crestwood has been synonomous with camping excellence for over 50 years due to word of mouth of parents and staff. If you send your child elsewhere, your child is missing out!

I have 2 sons, one is 4 and the other is almost 2. My 4 year old had such a good time! He participated in every activity and he was offered plenty to do. He also has improved in swimming so much! We have offered him swim lessons in the past and he has hated the pool. Crestwood has done wonders for him!!! As for my 2 year old, he and I did the parent and child program. I never had seen this boy as happy as he was here, and he is a happy baby! This is the second year that I did this program. I am disapointed that I have no other children to do this again! Take if from me, a parent that attened the camp, this is one very well run camp! And worth every penny!

Too many kids! They don't know your child at all. I've gotten a call from the nurse about a child who wasn't even my son. The mixup wasn't cleared up for an hour! That shouldn't happen, especially at a camp that charges what they do. Unfortunately all the camps this size in this region seem to be this way. Pack in the kids, pay the counselors nothing and make MONEY

Crestwood tries hard to accommodate everyone and therefore the activities are great but the groups are too large! The kids only get the good activities once every other week (or 4 times) a whole summer which is why so many kids leave for sleepaway as soon as they are old enough! Crestwood would be smart to limit # of kids and group sizes and everyone would be happier.
