Click to report rating    2/5/15   1     5     2     1     1   I escorted x5 13 year olds to skate camp... traveling from Seattle to the desert of cali for this supposed epic park camp. Dropped them off and a week later picked up x5 kids that said it was not what they expected, and wouldn't do it again, wasting their hard earned money. The staff are over burdened too many kids stuffed into small cabins, not great cafeteria food, not only a lack of instruction, but some of them are mean to kids. Very unorganized. And certainly don't bother going if your anything but a skater... the cheer, tumbling, gymnists, have nothing to do outside of their 2 hour lesson... but to watch skaters. RID: 48372
Click to report rating    6/27/11   1     5     1     1     1   The skateboard facilities at this camp are fantastic. However, the camp experience is not good. Despite their claims it is unstructured and unsupervised. My 13 year old was there this summer and we picked him up early. He is very into skateboarding and hoped for a great experience, but was extremely let down. The so-called instruction is 2 hours a day in the morning with very little actual instruction happening. Then they have 9 hours (!) of unsupervised time from 1-10PM to free skate or do other activities like bowling, swimming, crafts, etc. Despite his love for skateboarding my son got bored because he didn't know anyone there, didn't have a cabin group to stick with to get to know, and wandered around during free time looking for things to do. The food was mediocre and portions weren't large enough, but he could spend extra money to buy milkshakes and junk food if he wanted to. Don't waste your money on the camp. There are local instruction options at skateparks. RID: 36222
