Click to report rating    8/6/23   4     2     4     3     3   overall, i don’t think this camp was bad. i came here looking for an experience and fun, and in a way, i think i got that. i know now, camp isn’t for me. anyway, the staff are super nice. the counselors are very kind and chill. most were campers before, so they are easy to talk/vent to. as for the facilities, they are could use some love. i think my main issue was the bathrooms. half the toilets are often clogged. some showers barely work. things are just dirty. i expected that, though. the activities are fun. i loved the daily events the most. in the morning, you have to do swimming lessons and rec. i hated swimming lessons. the sign up activities are lots of fun. a few disclaimers: there are leeches in the pond. the food isn’t that bad. i’d recommend bringing a string bag, books, stadium chair, snacks, and journal. also, be aware, you cannot go home. for your first time, i’d book a week only. be aware, crying is normal. homesickness is normal! try your best to have fun, though! Click to report rating    1/9/22   5     5     5     5     5   I have been going to this camp for 3 years and at first i was skeptical but i was not disappointed! the food is amazing! the counselors are so nice. I have often had a hard time making friends and forging a connection but the people there are so kind and thoughtful and at the end of the week i was so sad to leave my friends. (I still communicate with most of them) Camp foss, although being a camp for girls had a wide range of kids with different gender identities and everyone was respectful of others pronouns. the older kids were always very nice to the younger kids, witch in my experiences at summer camps, doesn't always happen. although everything that they do there might not be your cup of tea the counselors really try their hardest to make sure everyone is having fun and most people will know you at the end of one week. everytime when my parents come to pick me up i always say "can i stay longer???" so much so that they started sending me the last 3 weeks so i stopped bugging them! Click to report rating    2/2/18   2     2     1     3     3   Okay, so I have been going to Camp Foss for three years now and all of my years have been dreadful. The day is scheduled activities and if you don't like what we are doing, or you are uncomfortable , the counselors force you to do it. The curfew is early and you wake up super early. The pond is infested with leeches and the water is freezing. Campers are expected to swim no matter what. The food is decent but you have to wait outside the dining hall at least 30 minutes before eating. We barley have any cabin time and the sign up activities are hard to get into because they fill up fast. And they are not very fun nor interesting. I highly suggest you do not go to this camp RID: 51620
Click to report rating    6/26/17   5     5     5     5     5   This camp is amazing! Brand new cabins this year, beautiful! This is my daughter's second year, and she looked forward to returning ever since I picked her up last year. My daughter was on a wait list for another popular NH girls camp, but opted to return to Foss instead when she was accepted at the other camp. Camp Foss is not about cliques and snobby girls (like some camps), it's about diversity and sisterhood and preparing young ladies to be strong, successful, and compassionate leaders. Don't waste your time with wait lists for other camps just because it seems trendy to go there, this is the perfect camp for any young girl who wants to have a remarkable summer camp experience. The smaller cabins seem so much more comfortable than some camps with large "barracks" style cabins, and the counselor to camper ratio is excellent. My daughter said the food was great, there was only one thing on the menu she did not like but there are always a variety of alternative food options. RID: 50889
Click to report rating    3/19/17   5     5     4     5     5   I went to Camp Foss for my first time last year. It was AMAZING! The food is delicious, the counselors are great, and I made so many friends that I still keep in touch with a lot. I saw that a lot of people are giving them a hard time on how many spiders are in the bathrooms and cabins, but seriously, what do you expect? It's camp! There are bound to be spiders! Also, I've heard bad remarks on the counselors having dyed hair and/or tattoos, but again, the counselors can make their own decisions outside of camp, but anyway, I definitly recommend Camp Foss! The only thing I would critique is the swim lessons; they are a few unwanted critters, but I believe that has changed since last year. RID: 50548
Click to report rating    11/10/16   5     5     5     5     5   This camp is absolutely amazing. Of course, it is not for everyone, although if you are looking for a place to call your second home, this is the place to spend your summer. Everyone is like a family there. All of the campers are like sisters, and the counselors are great leadership figures. I have been a camper there for three years, and I count down the days all the time. They will push your limits in the best way possible and give you more confidence than you ever thought you had. I personally have met my best friend at camp, and have made so many friends that I'm certain will last a lifetime. There is never a time when I am sad there, other than when it's time to leave. My best friend and I talk about how much we miss the place all year. It is definitely my home away from home, and I am so grateful to be able to go there every summer. I highly recommend this camp to anyone who is looking for a second family for the summer. I am almost positive you will love it as much as I do. RID: 50232

I am going in 3 weeks and am counting down the days. If you are considering going you should go it changes your life. Everyone accepts you and it is so much fun. There is no place like foss. The staff is so nice and truly supportive. The grounds are beautiful right on a lake. The activities are so much fun.Everyone at camp cares about you. RID: 48770

Click to report rating    6/26/14   5     5     5     5     5   I love camp Foss! This is my 3rd year going. The counselors are amazing and you end up with very good friends even if things start out a bit rocky or awkward. The food is great! Everything is amazing at camp! Some times I even get camp sick after I leave... RID: 47464
Click to report rating    2/27/14   1     2     1     1     1   So I went to Camp Foss last year and I hated it. My mom picked me up I was SO glad and she said so do you think you'll go again next year? And I said NO!! I told her everything, my councilors fighting each night, the bullying, the creepy cabin, the councilors coming into the cabin when someone was changing, and the food was terrible, and she thought I was lying! I really will shove my furniture against my door if she even tries to make me go. RID: 46949
Click to report rating    7/20/13   5     5     5     5     5   My daughters went to Camp Foss and LOVED IT! This was the 3rd year for one daughter and 2nd year for my other daughter. They will definitely be returning next year. They loved every aspect especially the kind, caring, fun, and responsible counselors. They loved making new friends at Camp Foss, who they will be in contact with throughout the year. Camp Foss is a great place to send your daughters to camp. RID: 45272
3/10/13   1     3     3     2     2   I went last last summer. The counselors we had were not nice, yelled, didn't explain much. Other counselors were better but our senior one even yelled at the new British counselor with her. Had to always ask for everything, go with a buddy, way to structured, forced to do things. But the counselors were the big issue I would not go back. RID: 43930
Click to report rating    12/27/12   1     1     2     1     1   I went to this camp for a week for the first time when I was 11. Terrible my counselors could care less about us. Many girls in my cabin already knew each other and were VERY cliquy. You couldn't go anywhere without a buddy which is diffuclt when you don't have friends. The swimming area sucks. They only let us shower twice the entire week! Absolutely disgusting food. Not a great atmosphere. never end your kids here! RID: 43269

Click to report rating    8/11/12   5     5     5     5     5   just got back from my first week at camp foss and at sleepaway camp. I had the time of my life. Going at 13 I figured id be alone with no new friends but two days later i knew all my cabin mates better than my friends, they were almost all new as well. The bunks were clean and not rundown at all, my counselors were so much fun and so easy to talk to more like friends than parents. New activities were avalable everyday encouraging me to try new things, i got attention and all my counselors new my name. This is a summer must, it changed my life i grew confidence wise and stepped out of my comfort zone i made a bunch of new friends that will last forever nothing would be the same without camp foss, its a must its cheap for what you get, please do your daughter a favor you wont regret. I expierenced everything first hand this past week and trust me this is the best place to spend my summer i didnt want to leave i was having a ball! cf,cf! FOSS FOSS FOSS! forever and always!<3333333 RID: 42325

Click to report rating    12/5/11   5     5     5     5     5   My 13yr old daughter and friend were not happy when they found out they were going to an all-girl summer camp. They were there for a two week session in July 2010. I was able to see them smiling and having fun via the camp website photos. It was such a relief to see them both making new friends and having a relaxed great time. They appeared to be more casual in their dress and appearance, which is what I wanted for them. On the day I went to pick them up, they ran up to the car, smiling and saying what a fantastic time they had. Both had tears in their eyes as they said Good-bye to friends and counselors. On the ride home, they talked about how the they felt the girls their age experienced less drama by not having boys around and how they really would like to return next summer. Sometimes Mom does know best! RID: 37431

6/22/10   5     5     5     5     5   Although I attended this camp many years ago as well as Camp Carpenter I will never forget it. I read reviews on Camp WICOSUTA in Hebron and it sounded like a bunch of rich spoiled self=serving brats. When I went to Camp Foss most of the people were well off but you would never know it from the way the acted. Some of the reviews from WICO indicated these girls were filthy rich and everyone else was nothing. Even though a lot of girls like it there were just too many that felt the girls were "snooty", materialistic, soiled etc. This didn't exist as Camp Foss that I saw. RID: 33087

Click to report rating    11/18/09   5     5     5     5     5   First sent our daughter here as a tiny little camper. Now, after the better part of a decade of summers, she's passed from camper through CIT to Counselor. Camp Foss entertained, taught and helped her to grow into a young woman we are very proud of.
