Our daughter has been a camper for four summers. Choosing Fernwood was one of the best decisions we’ve made as parents. Our daughter has grown emotionally, made great friends and developed new interests. The directors are warm, professional and know our daughter well. An outstanding camp!

This summer camp is the best place for a girl to be. Here is wear they learn their interests and found out what they like in life. Never has anyone entered the Fernwood gates and not feel at home. The staff and people are beyond extraordinary. I could never thank this camp for what it has done.

Fernwood is the most incredible place on earth. It is my daughter's 4th summer. The care and love at that place is unmatched. It is for the independent girl.

I can't say enough great things about this camp. My daughter's first summer has been an incredible experience. We were a bit worried about letting her go to camp as she's fairly quiet and introverted, but this is a camp where everyone is encouraged and celebrated for exactly who they are. From the older kids sending pre camp emails welcoming her to Fernwood starting in the winter, to the in person hugs and welcome by her camp big sister who somehow knew exactly who she was as she walked into the lodge, to the check in phone calls from the directors who really know her well, we are just thrilled with this camp. Our daughter is thriving, making wonderful friends, learning new activities, and is both comfortable and enjoying being challenged at the same time. She loves it and we love it for her. Letting her go to camp is so hard but knowing how happy and supported she is, in an environment focused on friendship, leadership and kindness, makes it worth it for us. Thank you Fernwood!

An amazing experience for my daughter's first summer away from home. Girls make friendships with everyone in this intimate environment. No electricity and no nonsense! Fritz and Christine know what they are doing. They have the highest return rate 99.9% for a good reason!!

fernwood it is my home away from home and nothing can ever change that. everything and everyone is just amazing and i will be so beyond sad to leave my last summer :( the friendships developed here are unbreakable and the bonds made here are remarkable. living simply is a main part at fernwood and always will be and the traditions that macky and her parents have started will live on forever. people think that living in a boy-free environment with no electricity is impossible, but it isnt, that's what makes fernwood so special. fernwood teaches one to be responsible, to respect others, and to be self-sufficient. leadership skills are developed and everyone learns to live in a community together. fernwood has taught me to overcome challenges not only with friends, but the challenges that we are faced with in our everyday lives. going to fernwood has allowed me to find out who i really am. CHERISH YOUR TIME HERE. SERIOUSLY. it has shaped my life and who i am today. it is just AMAZING :)

I have been going to this camp for 4 years and it has been one of if not the best experience of my life. It lets you explore and get out of your comfort zone in a way where you don't feel pressured but you really want to. The girls who go there are really great and most of them come back and make really great counselors. The activities are the best and teach you things you would never have learned to do before. For instance I would have never learned marksmanship but now I have discovered I am quite good at it. Camp Fernwood is a very warm environment filled with spirt and tradition. The moment you step foot at Fernwood you know your part of the Fernwood family. Every year I can not wait until I go back to Fernwood. Although i know it's not a perfect fit for everyone, this is for people who enjoy sprit, friendship, fun and the outdoors.

Fernwood is without a doubt the BEST camp on Earth! Its seriously amazing and anyone who says it isn't is INSANNNNE!!!! Fernwood has the most fun and fabulous activities, nicest consulars, prettiest lake, and campers that will be your friend forever! Also, the food is awesome awesome and cookouts on the waterfront are the best. F-E-R-N-W-double o- D BOOM! WOOOOO I LOVE CF!!!!

Fernwood was the most amazing experince ever! I LOVED the consluers and the girls i met there will always be in my heart. The food was also really good, Fernwood truly is a magical place!

Fernwood is like a dream.looking back on 6 summers there, each memory feels more magical then the next. i wish i didnt outgrow fernwood because i would go back every summer for the rest of my life if i had the option. best camp, deffinetly go there over any other place in maine!

Camp Fernwood is such a special place. I can't wait to go every summer. I love everything about it and there isnt one thing i would change. I love my camp sisters and I can't wait for summer '08!
