8/2/10   5     5     5     5     5   I think this camp is just wonderful!my child enjoys everday at camp. Everyday my child comes off the bus holding artwork she made, and she tells me about her new friends and how much she loves it. She sings me songs she learned and shes always happy at hillcrest. My son who is 9 years old enjoyed hillcrest so much that when we were looking for sleepover camps he constantly reminded me that his new camp must be like hillcrest, (he ended up going to Manitou, a great camp). The staff at hillcrest are so caring and loving and they always make my child's day fun. I personnaly think this camp is great and all kids should have the oppurtunity to go here. RID: 33594
Click to report rating    7/9/09   1     3     3     3     3   This camp is located in a nice residential part of Toronto. The facility doubles as a private school in the winter but works well as a camp in the summer. The downside to this camp, and it should be emphasized, is the camp director. I have found her to be dictatorial, unfriendly, uncaring, and not understanding in the least. Kids at the camp aged 3-5 are expected to do what they are told and not make mistakes. Mistakes are treated harshly. This method of operating the camp is explained by the director as a need to cater to the majority. In my experience, the director is uncompromising to a fault and treats minor inconveniences as life or death situations. As you may have guessed, my child is one of the ones who has been singled out and treated this way, and I can assure you the issue is minor (not even requiring a call home from his school this year). I will not be sending my child back to this camp and suggest that you consider whether this environment is suitable for your chil RID: 30352
