Click to report rating    7/8/13   1     1     1     1     1   My child was bullied at this camp. I will NOt be sending her back. DON'T give them your money. RID: 45064
Click to report rating    7/15/12   5     4     4     3     3   My 11 year old just returned from her first time at MMRC. She rated the experience a 5 on a scale of 1-10. 1) She felt that the returning campers were not welcoming, kind or helpful to the new campers. Her cabinmates also ostracized a foreign camper who's English wasn't great. 2) There was a lack of supervision in the cabin, so that it was noisy at rest period and bedtime -- and very messy. 3) Her cabin was infested with mice. Four were caught, but many remained. 4) My daughter was horrified at the spoiled rich girl mentality of her cabinmates. She felt she was excluded because she answered "No" to the questions, "Do you have a maid?" and "Are you rich?" (even though her family IS wealthy.) 5) There seems to be a general lack of organization and structure. Camp fires went very, very late. The whole camp played kick the can for an ENTIRE day -- only option. All of girls (50?)went on an overnight but no activities were planned. Bottom line: look elsewhere! There are better camps. Click to report rating    11/27/11   1     4     4     1     3   My daughter was a victim of racism and bullying at this camp not only by other campters, but unsupportive counselors as well. Chip denied any responsibility in this matter and even screened her letters and telephone calls to us. RID: 37361

3/31/11   5     5     5     5     5   I honestly don't know why people have bashed this summer camp in below comments. The staff is amazing, they are all laid back and chill. The directors are all awesome and they learn everyone's names very fast. The activities were very interesting and there were a wide varety to choose from. All of the staff were helpful and were there to help if we had an issue. The cabins are roomy, and the weather is amazing. The color wars are amazing, it allows everyone to compete withont focusing on winning or losing. I went there session one 2010, and could possibly be going back this summer!! I can't wait!!! Click to report rating    8/9/10   5     4     5     4     4   I went here two years in a row. true this camp is super expensive and i'm not really sure it's worth all that it is. with price of mmr i could've gone to europe instead. the weather is really nice. not too hot. and the color wars were a great way to make sure everyone at camp felt included. it can get a bit cliquey. like high school I guess. returning campers tend to think they're all that and don't interact with new campers very much. the family that runs this camp is super snobby. especially the daughters. the mom is really nice though but chip seems kinda power hungry. there's a wide range of activities and most of them are really fun. it's easy to make friends if you've been there more than once or if you go with someone who's gone before. the food is good. deserts not so much. the second year i went there they took away the sugar because some kids were putting too much sugar on their cereal. in my opinion uness i'm having coco puffs i like sugar on my cereal. Click to report rating    6/26/10   1     1     1     1     1   this is the worst camp on earth. they didnnt give a crap about the campers. i was teased left and right. my mom picked me up after the first 3 days cause they were so mean!! RID: 33132
Click to report rating    4/11/10   5     5     5     5     5   Mountain Meadow Ranch has made an immense impact on my life. I have spent more than half of my life spending my summers there and I feel liek I am a different person because of MMR. I have made some of my best friends here and some of my favorite memories. Come to Mountain Meadow Ranch! RID: 32575
Click to report rating    4/7/10   5     5     5     5     5   Mountain Meadow is an amazing camp. My daughter flourishes there. The staff are dedicated, and fun. I rate this camp a 10 out of 10. I will continue to send her there because it is the highlight of her year. She looks forward to the summer approaching, with anticipation of Mountain Meadow camp coming soon. There are many returning campers, that she looks forward to seeing, as well as the staff. The camp directors really care about the campers, and ensuring they have a great time at camp.Mountain Meadow camp has great activities that are age appropriate,it is evident they have have taken a lot of time and effort to personalize the camp to the individuals attending. It's like being part of a family, that really cares! RID: 32557
Click to report rating    4/1/10   5     5     4     5     5   Mountain Meadow is a camp that focuses on creating a warm, safe environment where their campers can explore new activities, gain confidence in themselves and their abilities, and grow. I attended MMR for six summers and know that those summers shaped me and have made me who I am today more than perhaps any other experience. The staff is entirely committed to the campers and making their experience as fun as possible. The laid back atmosphere, set by the staff and the way camp is run, creates many opportunities for campers to try new things or get into one particular activity as much as they want. The most important and special part of MMR is the family that is created by the end of each session. Campfires greatly facilitated this. They were the highlight of the sessions and brought the camp family together each week. Campers return year after year because of their amazing experiences, the great staff, and the life-long friendships that are made at MMR. RID: 32528
Click to report rating    4/1/10   5     5     5     5     5   Absolutely an amazing place. I have gone here for all my life and have loved every moment. The staff is in it for the kids and they offer everything and more a camper could want from a summer camp. Although the cabins are rustic, it makes for a better, more camp like feeling. I came back for the people (both staff and campers) and highly recommend it to everyone and anyone looking for a magical place to spend time, grow and make friends. Between its natural beauty and warming owners/directors, MMR is truly one of the most majestic places on Earth. RID: 32521
Click to report rating    3/25/10   5     5     5     5     5   My time as a camper at MMR was hands down the most impactful experience of my teenage years. I did not come to MMR until I was fourteen, but from that point on I knew there was a place where I could be completely happy. As a teenager preparing to navigate the chaotic waters of high school I discovered a place where I was never judged, teased, or uncomfortable. MMR was an extremely supportive community that taught me to be comfortable with myself as an individual. The director's and staff’s commitment to helping young people develop as leaders and confident and aware individuals is a service rarely found. The family and other individuals that run MMR consist of the kindest and most upstanding people I have ever met. The familial aspect of the ranch provides the summer camp with a rare charm that sets an underlying tone of care and respect for the entire camp. I recommend this summer camp wholeheartedly. It was a life changing experience that I would encourage anyone to take part of. RID: 32473
Click to report rating    3/24/10   5     5     5     5     5   Anyone who said anything bad about this camp has got to be crazy. I would give up anything in the world to spend every summer at Mountain Meadow Ranch. My best friends in life, and the ones I can count on the most.. were made there. My first year was amazing, I was welcomed by everyone, and you feel at home right away. I went first session, and loved it so much, i went back three weeks later to 3rd. I've been 3 years already, and it's by far my favorite place in the world. I think about camp nonstop, and I keep in touch with all the friends I made there. It has completely made me a better person, and probably 100% happier in life. I love Mountain Meadow Ranch RID: 32469
Click to report rating    3/24/10   5     5     5     5     5   Our daughter has attended this camp for five consecutive summers, and she loves it. As a parent who has visited this camp, I can say that it is a wonderful place, and the camp counselors are superb. It has been a fantastic experience for us and our daughter. BRB RID: 32464
Click to report rating    3/24/10   5     5     5     5     5   I have been going to this camp for 6 years now. It has truly turned my life around. People down there that talk about how the counselors are mean, the only reason they ever are is if your ruining the enviornment for everyone else. The people there love each other, they are my second family. Everyone always takes care of each other. Every year I look forward to camp. I am currently counting down the days. I love this place and everyone That goes there I will never foegtet it as long as I live. It taught me morals and respect , it changed my perspective on life. <3 - Marsha RID: 32463
Click to report rating    11/19/07   5     5     5     5     5   MMR is the best summer camp that I have ever gone to. The entire atmosphere is truely amazing. Everythign about camp is friendly and fun. All the counselors are amazing, and the activities are the best! Color Wars on the weekend, and the Sunday night campfire make for the perfect week! I wish I could go back as a camper! But I plan on applying to work as a counselor someday! I love and miss MMR with all my heart! <3 RID: 17249
Click to report rating    7/27/07   4     5     5     5     5   MMR is amazing. This was my first summer there and I loved it so much. I thought it might be hard for me to fit in because I was going into the oldest girls cabin and some of those girl have been going there for 6 or 7 years but I was welcomed with opened arms and it was amazing. I thought all the staff were great and the reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was because one of the counslors in my cabin (not saying names... Jess) did not know how to work with or talk to the girls and was always angry with us. She had no idea how to work with "normal" kids let alone kids with small probems like ADHD. All the rest of the staff was great and I had an amazing time. RID: 13348

3/16/07   5     5     5     5     5   I worked at MMR one summer about ten years ago and i loved it so much. I've worked at several different private summer camps in CA, all very good, but there is truly something extra special about Mountain Meadow Ranch. The scenary is amazing, and I loved Chip, Jody, Mike and Julie. It felt like we were part of their family. I loved that we did things a little different than other camps. Their campfires were the most special. Some of my most peaceful and happy memories are from that summer spent at MMR. RID: 8716
