    | | 6/28/23 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | 5 | The camp is very fun, full of activities that are very interesting. The youth staff works very hard to make the camp run smoothly and make it fun. At the camp, the food is very good, such as pancakes and scrambled eggs or spaghetti and tater tots. For breakfast and dinner, every patrol(small group of 6 or 5 people) has to make a skit or parody of a song to invite a support staff member to the meal. There is a one-night overnight camping trip for Phase 1, 2 nights for Phase 2, and 3 nights for Phase 3. During the hike, snacks are provided to keep campers energized. We (the campers) learned many leadership skills during about 1-hour sessions once or twice each day. Overall, the camp is very well-run and fun. | |
    | | 11/25/18 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Amazing program at White Stag Monterey. Kids learn leadership skills from other kids that train for a year before camp. There are adult Advisors always present in the background. Everything is hands-on learning with lots of practice. The outdoor living experience is very different from what most kids have ever experienced. Kids are challenged and find confidence in their own abilities to take care of themselves and step outside their comfort zone. There is no internet or cell service. Kids learn to work with others, rely and help each other as they meet challenges. The program has several levels so kids can come back year after year and find a new experience. It is fun and exciting. Kids also learn camping and hiking skills. Those are built into the program. Don't be confused by other camps with White Stag name they are not affiliated with White Stag Monterey and may not offer the same high quality program. | |
    | | 1/28/17 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | 5 | This camp is amazing. The program changed both my boy's life's. They had so much fun learning leadership skills that they attended several years in a row. It is a week long sleepover adventure. The campers live in the outdoors and learn outdoor camping skills too. The youth staff are highly trained and really care about ensuring each camper learns and has a great time. The campers have the opportunity to practice their leadership skills during the week. Highly recommended. | |
    | | 9/26/09 | 5 | 3 | 5 | 5 | 5 | The person before me definitely hit the nail on the head about what White Stag is all about. I'd have to say that the staff is by far more hardworking and attentive than the staff of any other camp i've been to. The facilities need some working on, but I liked how Director Tony built showers for everybody at the last camp. There are activities going all day long that are really fun and challenging. Its the most exciting camp I've ever been to! | |
    | | 9/25/09 | 5 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 5 | White Stag is a fun camp full of campfires, singing, spirit and traditions, yells, and special ceremonies. It's a week of camping, hiking, and learning leadership. Everybody learns by doing. Kids 10-17 get to learn and practice leadership skills like communication, planning, sharing leadership, counseling, setting the example, representing the group, and others. It's not a recreational camp--don't expect horseback riding or lots of free time to swim. It challenges you to improve yourself, to think about who you are and who you want to be. It is located in Central California, and two kids from France and Taiwan who heard about from their friends came to camp in 2009. The youth staff works real hard all year to plan and put on the camp. I'd rate the facilities higher but for now they have to rent camps so they aren't exactly in control of the facility. The hiking was harder than expected but the patrol was really helpful. | | | |
