This camp is incredibly fun, challenging, attracts great kids and counselors, and most kids want to keep coming back again and again and again! We love this camp. We did the British Columbia camp the first year, then the Pacific NOrthwest the 2nd year. Next year we're doing the CA Challenge and want to keep at it. It's the most fun I've EVER had at a camp.

My 14 year old just returned form British Columbia - last year it was Colorado. I cannot express how great this program is in this short space. it is about challenges and friendships and the outdoors and role models who guide these kids and help them mature and become leaders - all the while they are un-pugged! this is not for every child and that is too bad, it's great!!!

expensive but so worth it! My son had the most wonderful time and came home excited to go again. He noticeably matured in his three weeks away.

My 14-year old went on a three-week California Adventure trek. The kids were moving non-stop, one incredible venue after another. They slept under the stars and had a "buddy-system" for going to the bathroom. They cooked for themselves, they entertained themselves, they organized themselves - we know it was all supervised, but my daughter felt that they were given a lot of room to handle things independently. Everyone was responsible for a small task (my daughter, who never knew anything about cars, was entrusted with checking tire pressure and oil levels.. LOL - never in a million years would she do that at home before going to AT!). We were really impressed with the staff. Back office works like a well-oiled machine - fast, able to resolve any issue fast. Instructors at the trip were awesome - they made sure she wore long sleeves when she developed a sun allergy, that she completed the physical challenges and felt part of the group at all times. It's costly. But worth it.

Our daughter went on her first Adventure Treks this Summer to British Columbia. We are completely hooked - it was an excellent experience! The staff does such an excellent job of making sure your child is safely challenged while at the same time forges phenomenal relationships with kids from around the country (and world). She had 6 counselors in a group of 18 kids which offered her exposure to different leadership skills and lots of guidance. The activities they did were world class with safety always as the top priority. Our daughter will certainly return next year and beyond.

Our son went on his 3rd trip this year and had a blast in California. They provided a safe, fun trip with other fun teenagers. Their instructors are probably over qualified to lead these trips they are amazing.

After her two sisters have already been to Colorado with Adventure Treks last year, my daughter went on the Blue Ridge Explorer trip this year. She loved the whole experience. As parents, we were very well informed about what we needed to prepare for the trip. During the trip, the Adventure Treks blog kept us updated about all the different activities. The people at Adventure Treks are very professional and experienced in what they are doing. Their dedication to offering the children the best possible experience goes beyond expectation. During the whole trip I never doubted that my daughter was in good hands. I would send her to any of the more challenging Adventure Treks trips without hesitation, knowing that she is safe and that she will enjoy every minute of it. Adventure Treks truly is an exceptional company.

Adventure Treks is like Ella's second family. She has loved all 3 summer's she has spent with AT and can hardly wait for her 4th and last as a camper. The leaders are experienced, great community builders and have helped to instill a confidence in our daughter that is amazing. Her leadership skills have blossomed. I am also extremely impressed with the level of communication from the staff and director of Adventure Treks. They send out what they're reading, what to expect when your child comes home, their philosophy, regular communication about what's happening at camp. Our daughter's first year we we missed her "I'm here" phone call and we wouldn't get to talk to her for a week. I called the office and in less than 5 minutes we were talking to our daughter confident she would be well cared for and was in good hands. This has been a terrific camp for our daughter!

Adventure Treks has been a life changing experience for our daughter. She has attended 3 different trips and each time she comes back a more mature and confident young woman. The staff at AT does a great job of supporting each individual while fostering a great group dynamics, where the kids work together towards common goals. Each part of the trip brings challenges, excitement, accomplishment and as always, FUN! The experience is unparalleled and our family (including our two younger boys) will be participating in AT for many years to come.

My daughter said Adventure Treks was "the best 21 days of her life." She loved the diversity of activities and the commitment of the staff. As a parent, I really appreciated the attention to detail and the great communication I received from Adventure Treks. They were attentive and caring every step of the way and even followed up after camp was over. I am blown away on all aspects. My daughter came home a more educated, responsible and happy person! LOVED IT!

Adventure Treks is a life changing experience. It opens teenagers' eyes to a whole new world. It teaches them valuable lessons including the fact that you can survive three weeks or more without any electronics which I think many teens don't believe is possible today. I meet people from all over the world that are great friends that I still keep in tough with and the activities are a blast. The environment is always positive, exciting, and safe. After every year I wonder, how could it get better, but it's possible. If you are looking for an exciting adventure, go on an AT trip! It will be the best summer you have ever had.

this was my daughters first time at a camp like this. it was an amazing experience for her. she bonded with new friends, had loads of fun and experienced new things. i loved the communication that Adventure Treks provided. emails with pictures and info about what the kids were doing. phone calls when i had a question. posting a ton of pictures for all to see after she came home. emails about missing items on a sunday nite from Sandy. missing item mailed home. advice on what to expect when my child returned home. we are already planning on sending her next year, and also her brother when he gets older. this was by far the best experience i have ever had with a camp- oh - and my daughter too!

I have already been on two AT trips (oregon cascades and california challenge) and they have been truly life changing for me. Being away from technology and other distractions makes it easy to really get to know people and make life long friendships. I can't wait to go to Alaska with AT this summer. AT makes me a better person and every year i have come home more confident, a better leader, more independent, and just a better person overall. AT is an amazing program and I wish every kid had the opportunity to go on it... i thank my parents every day fpr sending me.

Adventure Treks is simply a camp of perfect scores. All the people involved in the camp and the greatest, most genuine and most dedicated people I have ever encountered. The few weeks you spend with them are a weeks packed with adventure, memory-making, happiness, challenge and love. Adventure Treks is truly a home more than a camp and the most exciting home!

Adventure Treks is amazing. My daughter attended the last three years: Pacific Northwest - 16 days, Canadian Rockies - 21 days and California Challenge - 28 days. Each trip exceeded expectations. Wilderness backpacks were challenging, fun w/ awe-inspiring scenery. My daughter summited Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Shasta, Mt. Outram, Mt. Frosty proud that she got there by her own effort: authentic achievement.
AT staff are certified Wilderness 1st Responders, experienced, kind & fun. Safety is their 1st goal. My daughter LOVED the staff & other kids. They keep in touch & have formed long-lasting friendships.
AT is not for troubled youth. This is comforting because safety comes from staff, my daughter's own sound judgment, & her trip companions.
Food is tasty and plentiful. We've NEVER had a single aspect of a trek cancelled. Little in life is as reliable & well thought out as Adventure Treks.
I'm grateful for the confidence, mental toughness & good times my child has gained @ AT.

I have two daughters who participated in Adventure Treks on several adventures. The experiences they had were amazing, both from “fun” perspective and from the character building perspective. They had great counselors, exciting itineraries and experiences for a lifetime. They had great memories and long lasting relationships. I highly recommend it.

Great staff; incredibly knowledgeable and conscientious. I particularly liked their understanding of the 12-14 age group. My son went on the Blue Ridge trip and it was a fantastic experience.
