Full disclosure: I worked here for one summer. That being said, I have worked at other camps and have visited many more. What this camp may lack in facilities and aesthetic appeal, it MORE than compensates with its impeccable program and incredible staff. I was already an experienced staffer when I spent the summer at Canyon; however, I learned more from this staff about dedication, selflessness, and a fun-loving attitude than every other staff i have worked with, combined. The atmosphere at Canyon like no other, and it doesn't take long for the enthusiasm of the staff to be projected onto the campers. While this camp may not have some of the things you'd see at one of the new-fangled breed of camps, Canyon Camp represents the essence of scouting, and provides a timeless camping experience.
