This camp is the worse. It’s my first time going to a camp and I must say my experience is a experience I would never to get and I would never go back to one. Not to say that all camp are like this one but I’m already turn off from even going back to another camp..... fast track I was send here to work for the summer and I must say I couldn’t say any longer but only for a couple days!....1. The cabin was very nasty ?? full of dust, dead bugs, mice ?? feces and piss!..... the cabin I stayed in had for 4 nasty girls who had their dirty underwear’s, clothes on the floor of the cabin, they was very noisy when they wake up in the morning, they can never hold the cabin door when leaving the cabin it’s always a banging noise in and out when they comes and go..... the cabin is very hot full of spider ??webs and the those old bed they have you sleeps on is just gross, old and very noisy. To be continued!

I went here two summers in a row, and I feel safe to say that this camp is awful. The BIFFYs smell horrible and the walks are really long. I enjoy the activities that were included here but when I tried them here it was boring and negative. The counselors yelled a lot and the girls were mean and made me cry multiple times. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the food. They try to make it look like fun but it is not fun AT ALL! The showers are also really cold and no one really seemed to care about me. I was really happy when I went back home. I don’t want to go back. I would not recommend this camp unless you want your kids crying and complaining about everything.

Oof, this is not a good camp, and the main reason is the staff. At a good camp, the staff is enthusiastic and gets the kids excited about activities. This staff seemed untrained, bored and grumpy. My daughter spent a week here this summer and did not have a good time. Everything seemed half-@ssed. Like the mosaic art project for which they were only allowed 5 pieces of mosaic for the whole thing. I wish I could attach THAT picture. She thought she hated archery when she learned it at Potomac Woods, but just tried it again this week at a different camp and said the bows were much easier to use and she got much better instruction. She also said the pool was not fun - and this kid loves to swim. The counselors seemed to yell at the girls a lot. And they micromanaged food - making kids eat vegetables to have dessert. It's CAMP. Nobody should have to eat boiled carrots if they don't want to. We won't be going back.

This camp is great for the beginning camper. The activities are fun, and require no prior experience in them. The bathrooms/BIFFYs/latreiens are not amazing, but if you can't stand it then just don't sign up. There is a lot of walking, but as an alumni camper, I can say you quickly get used to it. The food is only okay, but not unbearable and at times good. Campers can look forward to Thanksgiving Thursday's and Cake Day. The staff are really nice and truly are there to let you have a good time. They really make individual bonds with then campers. The glen shelters/cabins are what you'd expect. The beds a rickety frame with a gym mat/mattress to sleep on. With the occasional wolf spider, and sometimes a moth, sometimes there are bugs, but if you can't stand some bugs, jut don't sign up. Each program has specific activities special to the program. There are many programs for 1st-5th graders, but anyone older should consider Camp May Flather or Camp Coles Trip. Overall, great, fun, camp!

THIS CAMP IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. THEY HAD THESE NASTYASS "BIFFY"s, (bathroom in Forrest for you), that literally was crawling with spiders and other nasty creatures. THE POOL WAS HORRIBLE. IT WAS FREEZING COLD AND I CRIED EVERY TIME I WENT IN BECAUSE IT REMINDED ME OF HOW HORRIBLE THIS CAMP IS AND HOW I WANT TO GO HOME. THERE ARR NO BUNK BEDS, JUST A MATTRESS ON WOODEN PLANK WITH A "BUG NET" AROUND IT WHICH WAS COVERED IN BUGS AT NIGHT. FINALLY, THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING AND I BASICALLY LIVED OFF OF THE VENDING MACHINE AT THE NURSES OFFICE. IN CONCLUSION, THIS CAMP SUCKS.

I went to camp potomac woods when I was a kid and it is safe to say that it was the worst experience of my life. The counselours were awful, they made me cry multiple times, there was a girl in my group who got sick one night and they refused to let her go to the nurse because they were busy watching the movie "Grease" in their cabin. I would not reccomend ever going to this camp unless you want to torture your children and scar your kids for life.

I had an okay time, but I wish I had gone to May Flather earlier, but I couldn't because I was too young. Potomac woods is a good way to see if you want to go to girl scout camp, I felt though that the counselors didn't pay as much attention to the girls as the could. The bathrooms and the showers are disgusting, and get cold easily. The activities are okay. I felt that the counselors could have paid more attention to the girls. ( there was a frog and a mouse in our cabin and we had to get rid of it ourselves and I was only 6, I'm now 14) I do think that the camp has a lot to improve in, but I'm glad I made the decision to go to May Flather instead. I also know that when my little sister went she said the girls were picking on her, and she told the counselors, but they told her to fix it herself.

This camp has standerds unlike others because it is run by the girl scouts. If you are planing on going on do half-week to see if you like it.All camps are not for everybody! The can uses biffies (aka latriens). The camp has old tiolets attatched to the shower room with rotting**** in them. The pool is greenish and very small. If your child does not like walking dont even try to sign them up. When i went alot of the 7 and under kids were just miserable. The whole camping experiance is way more enjoyable if you are atleast 10. I even saw 14 year olds who could not handle it. The camps main activities are hiking and swiming. The barn for the horseback riding is one of the nices barns i have ever seen. All the girls look forward to going to the barn because they gat to use a real tiolet. The showers at the camp are not bad. Most of the staff are nice but some are rude/mean and sometimes undertrainedI would reccomend this camp to at least forth or fith graders who have been away from home
