Click to report rating    8/29/11   3     2     3     2     2   Our Boy Scout Troop attended camp here in July 2011. Overall, the progrm was better than it was when we last attended in 2008, but not where it needs to be yet. The food was eratic, starting out good during the beginning of the week, but ending bad from Wednesday on. Troop had a dismal 52% merit badge completion rate due to holes in the camp program. Campsite bathrooms are dated and borderline sanitary. New bathhouse at waterfront is nice. Most tents and platforms were in good condition. Staff was slow to respond to our requests during and after camp. It has been 2 months and we are still waiting for the Troop photos I paid for in May. The senery is very nice, with the Flint River nearby and lots of shade and trails. Summer Camp Program needs more attention, most of the staff I interviewed said they would not return to Lawhorn for another season. With the exception of the air conditioned dinning hall, most facilities are in need of attention and basic erosion control. RID: 36854
