Click to report rating    1/27/11   5     5     4     5     5   LOVE Mt. Chai! My daughter switched to this camp after 2 summers at a Midwest camp, and had the summer of her life! The fact that it is Jewish concerned her at first (we are Reform), but the Jewish aspects (Shabbat & Sat services) are fun, kid centered, & ended up being some of the highlights for her, esp. Shabbat! The counselors are caring, fun, warm & nurturing and well-trained, & the campers are down to earth & friendly. I admit being from Tucson, we were a bit concerned about So Cal kids (sorry), but no need! Sh made lasting friendships & found that even kids who came with pals branched out and befriend others. No cliques here. My daughter particularly loved the theater program and the ropes course. My only (small) complaint is that there was not enough attempt to get girls involved in sports, however, the camp director Steve informed me that their new (female) athletic director is going to change that this coming summer. Really can't say enough about the quality of this camp! RID: 34947
