This camp changed my son's life. Almost everyday in the spring, he asked me how many day until camp started. He also made sure that I signed him up for every session in the summer. What separates this camp from the myriad of other camps devoted to the outdoors, is that this camp, instead of having huge groups, has many smaller groups. This lets counselors get to know each child a person, not just another camper. He told me how the first two days of each session are devoted to getting to know each person in his group. He said that they hiked to a waterfall on the gunpowder river and made a camp fire there. He then went on to roast marshmallows, play icebreaker games, and play in the nearby stream. .....In short this will be my son's 7th year attending and he can't wait. Some people say that the price it too expensive but I'm telling you it's worth it. Just by reading what's on their website, you will be impressed about their activities and ideals.
