Ok, I liked the camp, but they pushed very controversial issues within Judaism, and I felt as if I was pressured to believe in them. When I went, about four years ago, every other program was about Gar relationships and marriage. They even had us call our senators about the issue. I guess its good and bad,... they are making us leaders, and questioning the status quo, but I thought they put too much emphasis on Gay/Lesbian issues, and even transgender issues. We have enough problems regarding straight people. But anyways, I think Kutz is exploring new boundaries, which is good, and Kutz may be the perfect place for people distant in their religious practice.

Kutz is an amazing place. When you go there you come back home a completely different person. The food is not that bad and almost everyone is really friendly. The programs are fantastic. I just wish more people knew how wonderful it was and signed up, it might not last much longer.

It was the best summer of my life! I loved it so much, and i really did learn alot about leadership and myself. Besides regular activities, which can range from Israel to woodshop, there are all camp programs which are allways super cool, fun, and make you think about the issue at hand. For instance we did, this was camper led, a program on perspective and i still quote it all the time. The staff is pretty cool, and the camp is really small so you actually have some form of a conversation with everyone. Everyone I know who went had an awesome time and it is hard not to!

I had been at another URJ camp for 7 years prior to Kutz, and after a session at Kutz, I couldn't go back to my old camp which I had loved before because I realized how fenced in I felt there compared to Kutz.
