I do know why there are some complaints, and yes some are true but others are very wrong. This is my 5th year at camp and I've already decided to be a Counselor there when I'm fully grown up. This camp give every kid an exciting experience! Yes I have witnessed some bullying but the counselors took care of it where both kids ended up being friends by the end of the week. This camp gives all kids a very exciting, fun, emotional time and leaves every camper smiling as they leave to go home. I rate this camp as a ***** camp

Camp Doublecreek experience is priceless and fun. Almost everybody on here said the counselors were mean there not they just don't let your kids go crazy and actually crack down on problems unlike other camps that are completely oblivious to what the campers like or what they campers want to do. Some of the facilities aren't the most well kept but still that's the way camps should be, weared down by the campers fun. This place is truly a priceless experience.

This was my daughter's 2nd year here and we both love it. Staff seems genuinely interested in the children, activities are varied and keep the kids very active. She comes home good and tired at the end of the day, just like a kid should during the summer! I've been able to observe her 3-4 times during Friday lunch and actually get a little jealous, wishing I could have had such a fun camp experience when I was her age! She learns so many songs, makes so many friends, and plays so many games, all in a weeks' time. LOVE IT!!!

Both of my children have grown up at Camp Doublecreek. I get very sad when I think about next summer being my youngest child’s last year. The way the counselors help build their self esteem and the relationships my kids have made with other campers has been the best parts of camp. I personally like the fact that they have so many returning staff members and have a very intense interview process and background checks for all their counselors. As for the hot days, they have yet to complain. I think I tend to think the heat gets to them as much as it does me. I think kids need to spend more time outside being kids and not cooped up in front of a game system or the TV in the air conditioning all day. Camp does a great job making sure they stay hydrated and cool off during the day. They have even installed a mister for the kids to run through and cool off. It is a great price for all the activities they get to do and the transportation from a location close to my home/work is great.

My kids, aged 11 and 13, really enjoyed camp Doublecreek. This is the 1st camp where both kids had a great time without any complaints. They came home very excited to tell me all about their day.

This camp has very rude campers. My little brother came to sitt in the back of the bus and they started cussing at him! The counsolas did almost nothing about it too! The councilors always putt you under alot of pressure. I would deffinatly not recomend this camp! Never going back!

My son went in June 2006...would not go back the following year. The counselors yelled a lot at the kids and the day I spent at the camp, I was surprised at the lack of supervision and very uneven quality of counselors. The bus ride, very young kids sat with older kids who yelled and harassed them with bad language with no intervention by the counselors. Again, primary problem seems to have been counselors yelling and not knowing how to interact with kids, though the facility seems fine if nothing special. Would be good if they had at least one air conditioned area.

I spent every summer of my younger years at Camp Doublecreek and loved every minute of it. Counselors were friendly and fun! Lots of activities for every age group and a super fun way to spend your summer. Handwashing, really? I mean, c'mon, we were given every opportunity to clean up...it's probably not a good idea to send counselors into restrooms with kids to make sure they wash their hands.

My son said the counselors at this camp were telling kids to "shut up" and had a general bad attitude. We will not attend again.

The staff that I interacted with seem uninterested and not very concerned about what I was talking about. I got the impression that I was given the 'standard, pat' answers. The facilities are old but well-kept, especially the pool. Minimal attention given to handwashing before snacks and meals. This is a concern because there are over 300 kids per session and they also have an 'ag' center where the kids handle animals. Need more water fountains because there are no air conditioned buildings and it gets hot in the summer. Transportation buses are driven by young counselors. I would have preferred to have seen more seasoned drivers. Base cost is fine but there are a lot of add-ins.
