This camp was awful the camp counselors were so boring and they had no good ideas. The only good part of this camp was the classes I loved my game theory class it was so much fun. The activities were also awful most of the time it was stupid getting to know each other activities. They messed up capture the flag. The lack of air conditioning during a heat wave was terrible. The personal attention was great but the rest of the camp was trash. DON'T GO TO THE CAMP it is designed for younger kids.

This camp is poorly run and the accommodations are absolutely horrible. I completely regret sending my child here. Multiple suites were forced to share the same bathroom facility -- so they essentially triple to quadruple packed the bathrooms. Completely unacceptable and unsafe. The staff is unresponsive and uncaring about this.

This camp isn't perfect - but then what is? Of course, there are some minor flaws, but I've spent every summer here since the rising fourth grade and have been in love with it ever since. I've made some awesome friends, people that I adore and still talk to on a daily basis. For the first couple of years in my time in Jr. camp at SEP, there wasn't any air conditioning. It wasn't ideal, but honestly I felt like it added to the memories of summer. I adore SEP. I'm going for the fifth year this summer :)

I went to SEP last year, and enjoyed it immensley so I reapplied to go back. And I recently came back from the first session, and liked it more than last year. The new dorm, Kellogg (for 5~8), has air conditioning and hall-style rooms. It was amazing.. I loved it so much. And the classes were more enjoyable than last year, since I actually chose something that I was particularly excited for. My roommate wasn't the best, and I deeply loathed a girl down the hall. The point is, there will always be people that you will not like, but apart from the girl down the hall, almost everyone was in my 'FAVORED' section. The party was easily my favorite part. I enjoyed watching people hacing trouble decide what kind of hair they did or to wear perfume of not. We also won Trivia, and I was pleasantly surprised! I didn't think we would win! But we did- and I was overjoyed! Trust me - and my two years at SEP, that it will be the best experience of your life! I hope that you will take my advice!!! ;o

The staff is excellent (at least in my session). I got the stomach flu and my counselor went out and bought Sprite and freezy pops for me, which also goes along with Personal Attention. The facilities were decent, but they had ugly green floors, no AC, and were VERY small especially because 2 people were sharing the same room. But they included desks and closets, so that was good. Activities were good, except one of my classes was boring. The monetary value is pretty good, the food was buffet style and nothing fancy (but still yummy), and we didn't get anything very expensive to do projects with, and the living facilities weren't the best (So yes, to expensive). But partly I am complaining because my room mate wasn't the best. This reveiw may sound pretty bad, but SEP is very fun most of the time. Some kids just get homesick easily because it's pretty long, and when you don't have a decent roommate that can be hard. :) I'm going again in a month so hopefully I'll have a great time!!

It totally rocked but the my counselor was really mean and so were some others...one my roomate and I got totally homesick and our counselor wasn't there and the one next door would yell at us if we walked past but eventually we leaned over the balcony and called down to the counselor below and she was totally awesome!

I've got to be honest. If I were you I would be cautioned to send you kid here. The staff is judgemental and unfair. They did many things to me and I won't name spacifics because it would be obvious who I am. Its expensvie and isn't always worth it. You get in trouble for things you dont do and a certain counselor called me a name that was far from appropriate. You meet new friends and the clsases are fun. Good experiance bad staff. The director is really something else. SHe has no sence of customer suvice in the sence she doesnt know how to deal with parents

I love SEP! It is cool to meet people with your own interests. They help you learn to like yourself more, and be part of the group. In the process of getting to know each other, you learn a little bit more about friendship, honesty, openess and life in general! I totally heart SEP!!!

A lot of fun -- the counselors are hilarious and plan engaging activities for the kids. At least in the 5-8 section, they understand what middle school kids want and need in a summer camp.
