I was bullied daily and no one cared. The staff knew the bullies for a long time so they didn't correct their behaviour and I found myself depressed for most of the time. Not to mention the food was horrible and the bathrooms sucked.

The director of camp Nokomis was never fired. He is still working with the Lions Club, and camp Bellaleo is what camp Nokomis used to be called. I love this camp and I would stay there forever if I could! I learned so many life lessons at camp, and it inspires me to do great things. The camp staff are actually very experienced, and are as old as 62 and as young as 16. I would recommend anyone to this camp regardless of who it is. This camp is amazing!!!

Best camp ever! Experienced staff who bond well with the kids, great and active activities, just a fun overall time!

With little/no activity structure and supervision, I will not be sending my child back to Camp Nokomis.

I sent my child to Camp Nokomis this past summer (2010) and while the facilities of their campsite were beautiful, the stories I hear come out of my child's mouth lead me to believe that the camp is completely unstructured, unsupervised and possibly quite unsafe. I will NOT be sending my child back and I urge other parents to do their research carefully before sending their own.

This camp is not and was never Camp Bellaleo. Camp Bellaleo still exists and is owned by the Lakeshore Lions Club. The Director of Nokomis was formerly the director at Bellaleo but was fired for unknown reasons. Just ask the Lions Club. The staff are extremely young and unprepared for camp life. Make sure you do your research before sending your camper here. They are not OCA accredited.

Staff are wonderful and invovled with the kids and in activities. Campers and staff are welcoming and always excited to see you! The director is very involved with us and takes the time to get to know everyone. Its like a second home!!!, and I can't wait to go back!!!

Camp Nokomis (formerly Camp Bellaleo) is a wonderful camp with great leaders. We are currently searching for a permanent location.
