Our son went to China with Lifeworks International. One of the counselors made a verbal advance to our son. He declined the advance. Less than 36 hours later, our son was sent home. The other three counselors each directly told our son that he should not be sent home. Four of his friends cried when they heard he was leaving early. Neither my wife nor I had an opportunity to speak with him before he left China. He was dropped at an airport where he sat alone for six hours to begin the journey back to the U.S. Our son was incredibly stressed when he got home. It helped that, after the trip concluded, 18 of the 20 kids on this trip told him they missed him over the remainder of the trip, and that "things didn't feel right without him".

Sending my 15 year old daughter off on a midnight red-eye from Los Angeles to New York to St. Thomas solo to embark on a 3 week journey for the first time was both nerve-wracking and exhilarating. We had big expectations of her trip and experience and we were not disappointed. As we awaited her return 3 weeks later back at Los Angeles airport, we were greeted by a young lady who had grown so much and in so many ways.
Her experience was exciting, engaging, enlightening and empowering. In her words it was the best 3 weeks of her life. Lifeworks was inspirational and life changing. The quality of the staff was bar-none extraordinary. My daughter chose the BVI for her first experience and cant wait to return. Her only struggle is whether to return to the BVI or try a new destination! THANK YOU LIFEWORKS!

We sent 2 kids to a handful of Lifeworks outings, over the past few years. Every time they came home, we had more worldly, appreciative, independent children in our midst. Never any problems. Lifeworks is highly recommended!

I have participated with Lifeworks International twice and had the greatest experiences. The first trip was in 2009 and it was my first trip abroad alone and the staff was understanding, kind, and helpful. They helped get me acclimated with the other members of the group and made me feel at ease when I was homesick. The facilities are 5 star hotels, but once you see how other people in the country you're in live, it will more than feel like one! The activities are eye-opening, gut wrenching one moment and heart-warmingthe next. The groups are relatively small, you won't ever feel overlooked. While this program is definitely more expensive than others, it is definitely more than worth it! There is no way that a person will leave the program without feeling like a part of them has changed, and only for the better!
