If you believe that this camp is solely for teenagers of wealth, you have been misinformed. This camp is designed to develop kind, tough, intelligent, adventurous, and outgoing teenagers from all different backgrounds. The facilities are second to none, the staff are exceptional, the campers are kind, and the experience is once in a lifetime. However, nothing compares to the enormous personal growth one experiences during his/her time here. The camper will definitely return home more mature, motivated, independent and confident. You will be able to see positive change in their character immediately. As a seasoned camper, and (hopefully) future staff member, AQ has a magic that is completely unmatched. I would recommend this camp to anybody wishing for the experience of a lifetime.

ActionQuest is awesome because it is a place where I am able to try new things and make connections I would never have made otherwise. We all come from different backgrounds and experiences but we are able to become a family and work together to achieve so much. ActionQuest is such unique and valuable experience. I don't know who I would be without AQ

"The opportunity for our children to leave home, meet 150+ strangers, figure out how to work as a team and get along for 21 days is priceless! We truly love the way the campers are responsible for cleaning, cooking, captaining the boat, etc. No matter the program, its obvious each experience gives the campers a sense of independence while feeling good about their accomplishments. Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating a positive learning experience in a safe environment. Your staff stateside could not be more accommodating and your staff in the islands is so wonderful - my daughter has encountered so many incredible counselors who are such great role models!!! They have encouraged her to get outside of her comfort zone and to reach for new heights."

From start to finish, Action Quest did a top notch job. Every detail was considered in advance, assuring a seamless voyage. Exceptionally professional staff, captain and mate had terrific credentials and skills with the kids! Add in the camaraderie of the sailors and the skills they acquired as well as the beautiful destinations- this was the perfect trip for our daughter.

This was my daughter's 4th Action Quest trip and she is planning on getting her divemaster next year, crossing her fingers to work there one day. These experiences at Action Quest have truly transformed her in so many ways. I can't say enough about the program and will tell anyone who listens. She has matured tremendously under their supervision and guidance. You have transformed a city girl into a passionate student of the sea. She is hooked! The staff is top notch. Every single staff member has been an incredible role model; so passionate, knowledgeable, and patient. For them, safety always come first. The stories I have heard about how they all go above and beyond the actual transfer of knowledge has really impressed me. She has discovered her passion at Action Quest! What more could a parent ask for?

My relatively un athletic girl learned how to sail, scuba dive, and was without her phone! She cleans and cooks now as well. Her confidence is sky high and she will attend next year for a longer time- she wants me to sign her up now! She loves her counselors, was safe, and learned so much. Five stars ??????????!

My son came back inspired by his counselors and connected to them and to his fellow campers. There was also focus on character building without being preachy. He enjoyed that and learned from it.

I participated in the Neptune (focused advanced diving) program this summer and it was hands down the best summer I ever had. The staff were great role models and taught me a lot about diving. I became more responsible and confident as living on a boat is a much different experience than living in a bunk. The campers are all nice and welcoming. I would recommend AQ to anyone.

Best experience of my life so far!! If you like the idea of sailing around the BVIs, scuba diving in crystal clear warm water with spectacular colorful fish and large sea turtles, wake boarding, waterskiing, having deep, rewarding talks with kind thoughtful people from all around the world, and sleeping under the stars then Actionquest is for you. My experience was awesome and I can't wait to do it again next summer!!! Great Staff too - 10/10

Actionquest is not at all what it seems. If you are looking for a fun getaway where you can meet new friends and explore a new place, this is not the camp for you. It seems as though actionquest's primary focus was therapeutic. From nightly talks about your feelings to "lifeworks forums" you were constantly pushed to talk about things that should probably be kept private, especially in a summer camp setting. However, if you are looking to improve your social skills and need a safe space to disclose private information actionquest is for you! If you were just looking for a fun summer camp in a cool place I suggest you keep looking. 99% of your actionquest experience will take place on a less than sanitary boat which you will be cleaning for a whopping 75% of your trip. If you have any further questions DO NOT refer to the website. I can assure you that everything will look great online and yet once you have paid your $5,000 tuition, things take a dramatic turn for the worse.

I've gone to AQ for three summers and every time I come back, I come back with a new perspective on life. I've never been in a more welcoming environment. You meet the most amazing people here that are all genuinely friendly and the memories and bonds you make here last a life time. This camp makes me the happiest I've ever been and it also makes me healthier both physically and mentally. The staff here are extremely knowledgable and friendly and there is always something fun to do. I refuse to believe there is a better camp out in the world because these people put together the most perfect environment I have ever been in. If you ever get the chance to go I beg you to, you won't regret it!

While a few weeks have past since our son has returned from his ActionQuest trip, the enthusiasm about the trip hasn’t waned. He literally couldn’t stop talking about the wonderful friends he made and how great the staff were. He called them “the best people ever.” We couldn’t help noticing his newfound confidence right away after he returned. Successfully completing his rescue certification was only part of it. I think that he must have been filled with positivity from the moment he stepped onto the boat until the moment he left. With teenagers, that is no easy task, and yet ActionQuest seems to have figured it out.

It feels like I have an endless supply of precious AQ memories,but one of the greatest was snorkeling with the humpbacks in Australia.It was spontaneous,a little scary,&magical!It made such an impact on me that I wrote about it for my college application essay the following year.Not only did I get in to all the schools I applied to, but one admissions counselor sent me with a handwritten note raving about what an incredible story it was!Beyond anything sentimental,that day has helped to pave the road for me ever since!I'm now an engineer in NY &recently celebrated my 2nd wedding anniversary(my old shipmates were invited).In our vows,I made my husband swear to get his SCUBA certification.He has finally made good on it!After years of raving about all my AQ adventures,I can't wait to take him on an alumni trip & finally let him get a taste of the experiences that profoundly shaped my life.I am forever grateful to AQ for being my second family, what I would give to be back there right now!

ActionQuest is literally the best summer camp ever. Personally i have been to many summer camps and ActionQuest is BY FAR the best! I learned how to scuba dive and sail and become an independent individual.I learned more about myself that i probably would never figured out unless i had my experience with ActionQuest. I also met the coolest people that came from all around the world and their backgrounds interest me so much. The staff is so involved and the make sure that you are always having the time of your life. Everything about this camp was flawless and relaxed. I can promise you that you or your child will have the best summer of their lives and it will change their look on the world in a positive way. ActionQuest is defiantly an amazing program.

I went to ActionQuest in 2008 and 2007 in the BVI. I still send people to ActionQuest all the time. I am going into my senior year of my BS degree in Marine Biology from the University of West Florida. I have been spending the past 3 summers in Indonesia doing research and working for a conservation agency running their high school programs. ActionQuest really made a difference in the start of my career and I wanted to thank you again for the experience. I will never forget the time I spent in the BVIs. It was truly life changing. Thank you for everything!

Staff: WOW! You have the most incredible teachers sharing their superb sailing and diving skills. They come from all over the world--you will never find so many interesting and talented people in one place after coming to ActionQuest. Facilities: Yeah--you're living on a yacht! The experience of living on a boat is very unique and very fun--your home becomes your playgroud and classroom. The only reason I give this a 4 rather than a 5 is because it can get slightly cramped and if you are used to having a lot of space to yourself, it can be a bit of a shocker! Activies: ACTION PACKED! We sail, scuba dive, waterskii, and hike in the BVI--the ideal location for all these fun activies. Personal attention: Your shipmates and your staff become like family-you get to know a lot about them and they get to know a lot about you! If you have a problem, you will feel right at home going to any staff member with your problem. Monetary Value: You can't put a price on an experience like this one. AQ!

I love ActionQuest!! To anyone thinking about it- DO IT!! I cannot tell you enough how great it is. I have gone for the past three summers, and plan to return next summer. I still talk to friends I made there from around the world, every day. The staff members are amazing and so kind. Those three weeks at ActionQuest are the best part of my year. The weather in the BVI's is beautiful and the water and always warm and clear.

I LOVED ActionQuest! I was a freshman in high school in '93/'94 so it must have been the summer of '94 that I went on a once in a lifetime three week journey around the BVIs. I can't imagine having a better time and I can't imagine a better way to go to camp. Back then, I was going through a rebelious stage and my mother had my whole summer packed with camps and trips and vacations, but nothing compared to ActionQuest. I still think back on fun times like when all of our ships were anchored and tied together while the sun set and we danced the night away at some private island. We dove the sunken Rhone ship and learned how to sail a 51' sailboat, scuba dive, and windsurf, we did so much! My kids are begging me already to let them go. They're 10 and 4 so we have a bit of time to save up the money, but they will definitley go! Thanks for the wonderful memories, ActionQuest! Anyone who can afford this program should ABSOLUTELY enroll now!

I have distinctive memories of the BVIs and ActionQuest; my summers with the program are still what I consider instrumental periods of growth. At nearly 30, I recognize that AQ, and their instructors, provided guidance and a sense of independence that I had not previously experienced at that age. We were allowed to be children in a glorious setting while having the responsibilities of adults, held accountable for our actions as divers, peers, and even chefs; that is vital for any young person, and I am better for having had the opportunity to be part of the program.

I highly recommend ActionQuest programs. I left the three week program in the BVIs with an immensely boosted self-confidence and great pride in my accomplishments. At the beginning of the program I was worried that I would not be able to handle living on board a vessel with several other students for three weeks, and felt very homesick. But after two full days, the activities and fun really took off and I was enthralled with life onboard. ActionQuest staff do a fabulous job of challenging all of the students, but also of creating a safe environment to step outside comfort zones. I found the LifeWorks sessions to be very thought-provoking and enriching as well.

Amazing experience! I went twice and learned twice as much the second time around. I was a Boy Scout before I left, and the leadership opportunities ActionQuest provided me helped me learn how to be a true leader; I obtained Eagle Scout six months later. The sailing and diving are amazing in and of themselves, but the real experience is how Jim manages to tie in life skills into every aspect. I last went over ten years ago and I still apply the determination and leadership skills learned on those 30 feet of sailboat. This is not just a blast of a way to spend three weeks (which is an amazing time to be sure) but a way to learn about who you are at the same time.
