My two daughters went here and one ended up on their staff when she turned 18- the counselors where great, responsible, friendly and knows your children. The activities are varied and they learned a lot. They had opportunities to do things they would not have otherwise- high and low ropes, archery, lacrosse. Even the kids thin their groups were nice. I can not say enough nice things about this camp. Well worth the investment.

This will be my son’s second summer at VFMC. He attended 2 weeks of overnight camp in 2017 and will again this June 2018, 15 & 16 yrs of age. It’s terrific from my point of view and here’s why: It is back to basics camp. Very limited cell phone use (2 nights a week for specific amounts of time and phone is locked in Commandants office). You can lose the cell phone privilege if you break the rules. It’s teaching this generation of teenage boys that rules matter, life exists without technology and social interactions are most important. He camp emphasizes physical activity all day. You eat, run, play, do drills, have adventures, sleep and repeat the next day. The structure is good for them. There are no bells and whistles at this camp. No A/C etc. You go back to being a kid and breathing fresh air and breaking a sweat every day. My son was ready to come home after 2 weeks, but he still talks about it a year later. Great for college and real world preparation and internal discipline.

Valley Forge overnight camp was the absolute worst camp experience. The activities promised were not fulfilled. The basketball courts were rarely available, the tennis court had no net, and there was no baseball equipment. The camp was rented to the Sixers Basketball Camp during the two weeks my son attended. Since the facilities were shared with the other camp they were given first priority and there was no scheduled basketball lesson for the Valley Forge campers. The camp director failed to mention this at the open house or at any time during the admission process. I didn't realize that the "paid" activity (Marksmanship) was only an eight lesson activity for a two week camp. There were no scheduled activities for the overnight campers during the weekend. The camp staffers were indecisive, unprofessional, and lacked compassion. I expressed my concerns with camp director and unfortunately my concerns were not properly addressed. I would NEVER recommend this camp to anyone.

for the most part, my son was supervised by counselors from overseas. he really did not like this camp. the camp director is not personable and did nothing to put my mind at ease. my son said the food is horrible, the rooms hot and it is very disorganized.

I've sent my son here two years in a row and each year he comes back he tells me how much he loved it and can't wait to go back! He is actually telling me now that he wants to go to the boarding school there next year. The counselors are wonderful, the staff is great. My son tells me the food sucks but hey its military camp. The camp itself seems to be very structured and with great activities.

Bathrooms are in basement of sleeping halls, kids are kept on upper floors without bathrooms. Little supervision especially at night.

This camp is hard to judge. Presently, my child is attending now. I'm concerned with the lack of communication with the camp. Hard to get questions answered and I getting a mixed reaction from my child
