I LOVE LAZY J! I went there last summer for one week and begged my parents to let me stay. I went back another week at the end of the summer and the day before pickup, I was allowed to call home and ask to stay the next week. of course i called home and begged and begged to stay the second week. I had so much fun!

I LOVE LAZY J! I go there for the summer, and it is the best camp ever. The counselors are great, and so are the activities!

This camp is Fantastic my child loves it! We went for a weekend and yes there are flies but its a camp with lots of horses you have to expect that. the facilities are well kept up and the staff is VERY KIND AND GENEROUS. The camp has something up there called animal care and each kid takes care of an animal when they get up there and it is a lot of fun! they give out rewards and make all the children feel welcome. the staff always tries to make the kids feel better seeing as little children can get home sick very quickly. Overall a very FANTASTIC camp!

My daughter is a resilient girl, but I had to bring her home after the third day there. When we took the tour a couple of bright and energetic girls promised they would be her counselors. When she got there, however, she was assigned to a rather squalid looking cabin with a slovenly obese counselor with a poor personality. Flies, as others have mentioned, were everywhere. And the other kids were not nice to my daughter, who atypically spent a great deal of time crying. Not recommended.

We had a girl scout weekend and we are going again. I'm not looking for my girls to stay at a luxury resort, this is camping. They loved it--especially the animals and activities.

i didnt go for summer, but for a girl scout trip. i was there for less then a weekend, and was utterly discusted. the cabin that i stayed in had writing all over the walls, a broken window, moldy matresses, and a sheet to separate one side of the cabin to another. i am in a troop of (at the time) 12-13 years olds. none of us are high-maintenance, but are all adventerous and willing to take a risk. it was hard to get past all the poorly cleaned bathrooms, bad food, and walls to try and have fun tho. i did enjoy the variety of animals, and spending time with them. we made friends with one counselour, who was about our age which made the trip little more fun. all in all, a waste of time. if i could pick out that many mistakes in less than a weekend, i dont want anyone to try and endure through a whole summer.

This definitely a rustic setting, but it is on a working ranch so of course there are lots of horses and that means flies. The food is good and the counselors really love and nurture the children. Great hikes, swimming everyday and, my son's favorite, animal care. Their closing awards ceremony is done very well and is totally personalized to each child.

this camp really needs to be redone. it is a dump, there are flies EVERYWHERE in the cabin, they left the door open so all these bugs come in whne you are asleep. I had to go to sleep in bug spray. the floor in dirt and the bathrooms stink

My daughter is a high functioning special needs child. This camp is supposed to be an inclusion camp. They were told that she gets teased and to please watch her. They obviously did not read what I wrote. She was horribly teased and put down. I wrote a letter telling them about what happened and no one ever wrote back.
