I can't say enough great things about Eden Village. All three of my children are very different and somehow, the staff here "gets" each of my kids. One of my kids has some special needs, one is gay, and the third is a true sports nut, yet all three of them have found understanding and community here. The camp has a variety of fun activities, the kids' friends are incredibly fun and accepting, the counselors are understanding and warm, and they entire staff makes Judaism cool for them. Every time I call Eden Village the staff is so understanding to whatever my issue is, and they always call me back right away. They're also been incredibly generous with financial aid, making it possible for me - a single mom - to send three kids to sleep away camp! I don't understand some of the negative comments below - just trust me! This IS the place you want your kids to be for the summer!

My daughter LOVES Eden Village, This will be her 5th year and she considers it a home away form home. We love the camp's mission, down to earth and spiritual environment. It's really given her an opportunity to find her voice and gain confidence

this camp is basically a babysitting program. the activities were extremely repetative and boring. there's too much focus on "thinking" and judiasm and not enough focus on fun. the staff is incredibly incompetent. my daughter went for three weeks and during the duration of the last week, she ditched all the activities and the counslers didn't even notice. this camp was absolutley awful. eden village also made the kids do work for the camp. yes we were paying for my child to do labor. this is unnaceptable. i would never send my kid there again.

For my son, Eden Village was a transformational experience–he took in the peace and kindness that is pervasive at camp, which I could feel upon his return home. It is also one of his only connections to Judaism at this time. The values that are promoted at Eden Village match those that I focus on in our home, and those that my camper has at his school. His summer experience was, and will be, a key part of his development and decision about how he wants to see Judaism: I hope it is through the lens of care for the earth, respect for our resources, justice, kindness to other people, regardless of their color, religion, or gender orientation.

Eden Village has made such an impact on our family, and our children have relished their time there. We've changed our shopping, eating and disposing habits because of our time at Eden Village. The staff, the love, the environment and the values have all deeply touched us and have transformed the way our family operates. We love Eden Village, it has been such a meaningful part of our lives.

Eden Village has deeply touched our whole family. There are now several kids from our area who attend EV because we've shared with them how happy our kids are at camp (they talk about it ALL YEAR), how it has reinforced and strengthened our values of kindness and care for others and the earth, and brought music, spirituality, and hope into our home. We have had amazing conversations about "body talk", sustainability, Judaism, and activism that have come directly from camp. I am literally crying writing this - EV means so much to us!!

We have a great appreciation for the values that Eden Village instills with its farming, agriculture, and outdoor programming. We understand the importance of Jewish Camping and feel that Eden Village and its values are closely aligned with our values, both in Judaics and environmentally. We love the breadth of programming, from the apothecary to cooking to the "share" in the evening. Our daughter had an amazing first summer -- it is the first of many, and our sons will hopefully attend in 2018.

After 3 summers going on 4 Eden Village remains my daughters happy place. It is where she feels nurtured, accepted and free to be herself. I love the focus on both Jewish values and the environment Only downside is the cost (like most overnight camps).

My daughter has always felt very connected to Judaism and is eager to keep learning more and continue to feel part of the Jewish community she felt so warmly welcomed into at Eden Village. She's been asking at least weekly since she came back if she can return next year!
As parents committed to nurturing our child’s connections to Judaism, we look forward to sending her to Eden Village every summer. We haven't identified any other camp opportunity that so fully lives out the values of sustainability, kindness, and inclusion that we hold dear as a family.

On the last day of Eden Village Camp last summer, our child told us, "I have found my place." She had tried another camp the year before, and it just wasn't the right match. Eden Village encouraged her to explore, to be outgoing, and to take chances. She feels deeply connected to the camp and to the Jewish ideals she practices there.

This will be daughter's third summer at Eden Village. She loves her days at camp and her friends there. The experience has been and continues to be very important to her development and growth as a caring and compassionate person and a confident and independent girl. Additionally, Eden Village Camp strengthens her identity as a Jew and as a committed member of the Jewish people. The values that the camp instills - human values and Jewish values - are precious and critically important to us as a family. I especially love the kindness and respect with which everyone treats each other, the emphasis on nature and responsibility to the environment, and the links that Eden Village makes to Jewish values. I believe the camp experience in its entirety helps make her a better and stronger person. And the fact that she loves being at camp is proof that Eden Village is doing things right.

I had a very bad experience with this "friendly" camp. I'm a registered democrat but on some important issues, I'm pretty right winged. When my daughter went to this camp, she was alienated because of her opinions. People wouldn't talk to her, including the counselors. We don't like trump or anything, I voted democrat my whole life! Even if I was a strong republican and supported trump, they shouldn't object anyone to that kind of bullying. I would never send my child here no matter who you support or what religion you are. Now she doesn't want to go back ever and I don't blame her. We're actually going to transfer to a lovely camp called Point O Pines. Eden Village is a terrible camp and that's all I'll say on this issue.

My 12 and 15 year-old kids spent one session at Eden Village this summer. It was their first time at a sleep away camp without their mother or me. When I picked them up at the end of the session, I couldn't believe how happy they were. Our daughter has special needs. These had been sensitively handled during admission and registration. I found all the staff involved attentive and thoughtful, yet also careful not to draw public attention to what's different about this 12 year-old. Vivian was both tactful and communicative in the way she kept us parents informed about daily events, both via Facebook and in a couple of private emails. Our kids said the food was great; they had plenty of fun activities; and many, many of the staff and fellow campers were "cool." there were moments when they were bored. Our daughter's bed could have been more comfortable. But what impressed me most was that our kids showed no need to complain about anything! It was beautiful. They'd love to return next year

This is my son's 5th year and my daughter's 4th year at this camp. The first time I brought my son to camp I saw a hand-painted sign on the front of the dining hall that said "Kindness is Cool, and I knew we had come to the right place. Now it's like their second home! My children have received unconditional love and acceptance here and have thrived with supportive staff every summer. We love the nature & farm immersion, the abundance of hands-on engaging activities and learning, and I value the open-hearted spirit of this community. We wouldn't consider any other camp, and throughout the rest of the year my kids look forward to returning to Eden Village the next summer. Highly highly recommended!

This was my daughters first year as a 12 yr old and it was a great experience. My daughter came back so excited and kept talking non- stop about the activities, the counsellors, her new friends and the farm. Yoni Is great camp director and really has a good sensibility. We were nervous as this was our daughters first time at camp and he called us to tell us he quietly sat at her table at lunch and talked to her and hereassured us how well she was doing. I love how they integrate respect for the earth in their activities. They also incorporated Jewish learning and made services and Judaism fun. My daughter has been to other sleep away camps and she said this one was best. She did a lot of research on the camp and she said it was better than she hoped for. I don't know where these negative rating come from its almost like a different camp. My daughter had a 100% great experience. If you want to contact me for questions ianfelt231@gmail.com.

Not well run. My kid sat around all summer waiting, nothing to do. Too much political brainwashing. Move along now.

This is the future of Jewish summer camps. I have never seen or heard of a place where children are better cared for then at Eden Village Camp.

I really wanted to love this camp. Truly, I did. From day 2.5 I knew it was a mistake. I got a call that my child wasn't fitting in with bunk mates asking what they could do. I gave ideas & emailed with a follow-up. I never heard from them again. They decided talking to my husband was easier even though I had been the chief contact till then. A day or 2 later they told my husband that our child hadn't taken prescribed meds & that was the problem-but they could offer no explanation why my child hadn't taken the meds. I followed up by email but never heard back. When I picked my child up the head bunk counselor alluded to additional problems and promised a long email about them but I never heard from her. My child also told me that the camp social worker called my child a liar & they repeatedly called my child obnoxious. Since coming home I have had to undo the damage done to my child's self esteem. It's probably a result of poor training. It's a shame. The camp is such a cool idea.
